I've been thinking about this on and off all day. I honestly don't know any city dwellers, or people who aren't outdoorsy, or not sports fans. Seriously!
My go to gifts are: a pair of Mechanics gloves, an outdoor extension cord or a flashlight or lantern. (although in my group these could work for the gals, too)
Maybe a knit cap and scarf. Reusable grocery tote/bag. An experience like a museum, or dinner.

A popular gift at our house has been those interlocking pieces of metal puzzles that you try to figure out how to take apart. A bunch of 30ish guys sat in my family room for an hour goofing around with those at my daughter’s post-wedding brunch. Hanayama is the brand DH likes I love this idea. I'm getting some of these for my husband and sons. I think they'll get a kick out of them.

You can get a 3 month subscription gift card to Readly, which offers countless magazines in true periodical format on their phone/tablet/etc. us.readly.com/A sampling of hot sauces. Even if they are not necessarily a huge fan themselves, it might be something they could share with friends.

So funny, when I look at your go-to's they totally would not work for this group But luckily, there have been some other suggestions (including your last part, thank you) that will work! And yes, I think there may be some "experiences" given, for sure. Unfortunately they all live OOS, so this will be a bit of a challenge.

If I wanted to give them a little fun something for the day, would I buy 1 to share, or 4, one for each? Would the women like it as well? And also, I have no idea what these are, does anyone have a link? maryannscraps too. Thank you!

I'm giving my newest favorite thing. After waking up most mornings for quite some time with a headache, I tried this pillow. I haven't had a headache since. Many of friends have bought one and I bought one for my husband - they all love it. Very comfortable for side sleeping or back sleeping. It looks strange, but we love it. My father-in-law and adult children and spouses are getting one for Christmas. Donama Cervical Neck PillowI'm also gifting a few of these portable chargers Slim Power Bank Charger

I almost bought one for DH but he’s more into seasonings and rubs for pellet grill/smoking than hot sauce so I passed on it.

headlamps. blow up emergency solar lanterns that can charge your cell phone. Emergency solar lanterns that can charge your cell phone? I want those! On Amazon? Honestly, that would be one of those gifts that you might not need that often, but are so glad that you have it when you need it. Off to look!

I just bought this mini air compressor for DD. It's handy for tires, but also for floaty toys at the lake or pool. link

They come in different levels — my husband is really good with spatial abilities and loves puzzles so I get him the harder ones. Lots of engineers and puzzle people in my family. The ones Mom linked to are the kind we have. You can find them on amazon also. Search on Hanayama puzzles. I used to get them at Barnes and Noble, but I’m not sure they still carry them there.

Disclaimer that my husband is not your typical 34 year old. This year, he's asking for Ken Burns DVDs (Civil War or Prohibition ones, specifically), a kitchen mandolin, and one of those thin wallets whose name is currently escaping me. He also appreciates a good pair of jeans or a cardigan. Ken Burns' Civil War is the cure for insomnia!

I know they are city dwellers, but I have rechargeable hand warmers that can also charge my phone if needed. I got them at Sams a couple years ago - the brand is Muddy. They are a bit bulky, but would fit in an overcoat pocket.
If they work in an office, a nice leather padfolio or business card case might be well received.

I'll get at least 2 of them.

We did see an interview once with David McCullough where someone once told him that exact thing! DH is a big history buff. We almost got married at a B&B near Gettysburg.

Last year all the men I gave gifts to loved the Dr. Squatch bar soaps. I didn’t know they’d be such a hit! I got them as stocking stuffers. You can buy single bars for around $8 or gift box sets around $38. They have limited edition ones like Star Wars, Marvel, Batman, Joker. I bought more already for this holiday season. I had never heard of it before a few years ago when DS (38) started bringing a bar with him when he visits us. I have to admit that his (guest) bathroom smells great while he's here and for a while after he's gone home. I also saw them for sale at Walmart!
