I used to see them for sale in the hobby stores, in the scrapbook section. I haven’t visited a hobby store for awhile, but I have a variety of dimensional flowers in my stash. Do crafters still use the dimensional flowers on cards, or are they completely outdated?
Opinions?

If you like them you should use them. Prima still makes them. Is you want some ideas go to three Frank Garcia Warehouse site. There are nice cards the their website.

I use them on pages occasionally. And on cards I don't have to mail. They make the envelope too thick for regular stamps, and the flowers can get squished in the mailing process.
I agree that if you like them you should use them.

I don't use them anymore, but that's because my style in general has gotten flatter in the last couple years. I rarely use my metal bits or wood veneer either.

Just found a trove of Petaloo Christmas dimensional flowers in the back of my Christmas cupboard. Don't have the pine cones, but I do have both white and red flowers like the red ones here:
Thinking I may use them for a card design from Justine Horvey's latest series of card classes... These would need to be for family members, wrapped up with their gifts, rather than popped into the mail...

I agree that the thickness is an issue. I like them and use them for more feminine cards, but not if I am going to mail them, unless I am mailing a package with a card attached to a gift.
I usually make my own flowers with Heartfelt Creations flower stamps, dies, and shaping molds. I love dimension. I couldn’t help but wonder if flowers weren’t used much anymore, and if that contributed to HC deciding to quit the craft world.
I see mostly flat floral images, these days.
I’m not really into trends, unless I see something I especially like. I’ll keep using the 3D florals. I just realized that I rarely see the dimensional florals anymore. I’m trying to remember if I even saw any at the LSS when I stopped there a month or so ago.

I still use occasionally and I still see them at HL. I do tend to prefer the less dimensional to the super dimensional but I do mail most of my cards. I'll also use on scrapbook pages. I picked up some cut files for dimensional flowers at a summit of some sort a year or so ago.
I tend to think that they aren't at the forefront of trendy at the moment but they're still around as a basic supply

I saw some very dimensional flowers at JoAnn’s today, but based on what I saw in their scrapbook section, I am not exactly confident as to how up to date their products are….

These days I tend to build three-dimensional flowers myself using stamped flower images, dies and / or other doodads like brads in the center. I'll occasionally throw in an old Petaloo or Prima flower for good measure.
