I wasn’t referring to myself or the rest of the republicans. We are happy as hell. I was referring to everyone she associates with, actually. Serena Joy: The Early Years. Find out will come around for you eventually. I have no idea what that is, but I'm sure I probably don't care....

Not attacking you because I don't really know your stance. But my question to the Republican party is, why do they refuse to live and let live? Because if they did, they wouldn't be anti-gay, against abortion, anti trans-gender rights, anti-immigrant, etc. The Republican party is not the live and let live party. For some of us Republicans here we are more Libertarians' maybe even most of us. Fiscal issues I align with Republicans and social issues I align with Democrats. So each election I vote based on what I feel is best at that moment in time. I don't really contribute to political threads anymore because even though I explicitly say I think Trump is a shitty person and I don't support his rhetoric I am still a Republican so I am a fucking evil person. No one is interested in the concerns that I have on the country it is just imperative that it is known that the republicans are an evil party. There is no civil discussion anymore just attacking. I am at an age that I don't care anymore so limit my time here as it longer brings me joy. I mainly hop on now just to see how some of the peas that I do care for are doing and to read their threads. Occasionally curiosity gets the better of me and I will take a peek at a political thread but have been successful at not engaging in the attacking. So until topics can be addressed without attacking I don't foresee Republicans joining in the discussions. It is clear that our opinions do not matter because we are evil and uneducated. -Signed by a Republican who supports gays and also has a college degree This is written perfectly. I had left the board at one point because I was attacked when my opinion didn't align with the others that were on the board at the time.

I do agree that the US has too many additives in their food, but RFK, Jr. is not the right person to lead the department. It is said that he will have a hard time being confirmed by the Senate to lead a department. His best chance is acting as an advisor. Actually, eating right/healthy, losing weight, and exercising have shown to decrease or even eliminate symptoms of a lot of the conditions you mentioned. It’s not misinformation if it’s a fact. It is true for some, but it is not true for everyone. Some people have a genetic disposition towards certain things. A friend has had high cholesterol since his early twenties. Diet and exercise does not help. He is slim and outwardly looks very healthy. He has been taking medication since his twenties. High blood pressure and diabetes is also hereditary.

I haven’t researched all of his cabinet picks yet but some of them are great choices. I am most excited about RDK jr and hope that he can make some sweeping changes th the FDA. We really need to fix big food and agriculture. And big pharma needs to be knocked down a few pegs. Did you know that out of approximately 250,000 drugs in the PDR, only about two or three of them cure something. Everything else maintains disease. To me, that’s frightening. As for deportation, he’s focusing on the criminals first. You don’t have a problem with him deporting criminals, do you?? Everybody’s panicking that he is going to be deporting 20 million people. Not only is that logistical impossible but it’s not his plan to do that. I’m not worried about his foreign policy. World leaders respect and aren’t going to fuck with Trump and I don’t think Putin is his puppet. But that’s my opinion. Which I’m entitled to just as you are for your opinion. As for everything else you mentioned, it’s speculation and we have no idea how any of that is going to play out as of now. There aren't "cures" for lots of things that we can control with medication. For example, diabetes and heart disease and high blood pressure. I'm not sure I can even begin to address the ignorance in that comment. Girl, you really need to be more educated about the things you go spouting off about. Your misinformation just keeps popping up with every comment you make about how great it's going to be when so and so takes over. Twenty million rapists in four years, Miller is a washed up has been, etc etc. You should sit back and think before repeating what Fox News told you. Do that research you're talking about. I know you're feeling yourself and you're in your element but it's painful to watch. I'll try to refrain from calling you a boob, I know how much name-calling triggers you when anyone but Trump does it.It doesn't trigger me at all, I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy... Twenty million rapists in four yearsI never said that Miller is a washed up has been, etc etc.I admitted that I was wrong about that...did you miss it?

It's still a fact...what's still a fact? that many Americans do not always have access to healthy, foods or the means with which to prepare them? That some Americans live in 'food deserts' where fresh food isn't even available? That some Americans don't have the means to get healthier ingredients home (e.g., 3 bus transfers + > hour trip to/from an actual grocery store), and that for some Americans, home is someplace without cooking / kitchen facilities, and that some Americans have never even learned how to cook said healthy food, or even own the utensils / pots / pans to cook them with?? Did you know that some inner children have never even seen, let alone tasted, fresh broccoli before? Yup, those are all facts!! And where do you think this magical healthy food is supposed to come from, who is going to cook it, and with what money, once the tariffs on imported goods start? Have you ever paid attention to where your food comes from, and/or thought about who picked it and prepared it before it got to you? Do you think school lunches are magically going to get healthier, somehow, to raise this new, healthier, generation of self-sufficient people who will 'stick it' to Big Pharma? That physical fitness and better nutrition just magically 'happen' somehow, without thinking about all the myriad of factors involved?? (don't bother answering, I know the answer is NO.) Man, you ARE deluded.

I don't have to read something because someone my views don't align with tells me to. But I didn't disrespect her. I simply stated I wasn't interested because if she is recommending it, and the way she recommended it, I'm sure it's a dig. I'm pretty sure if I recommended a book to you that reflected my views you would say the same to me.

Yea, the comments about medication were something else. Actually, eating right/healthy, losing weight, and exercising have shown to decrease or even eliminate symptoms of a lot of the conditions you mentioned. It’s not misinformation if it’s a fact. I could say the same to you about cnn, msnbc etc. I actually watch a variety of news sources but I do prefer the number one news station in the country which would be Fox News. It is also a fact that even with all the eating healthy and losing weight doesn't eliminate or decrease the symptoms. For example, type 1 diabetes it doesn't matter what the person does they will always need insulin. There is no other way around it. That is not misinformation.

I can agree that there should be more done to reduce the amount of chemicals in our food, water and environment. But I also agree that it isn't as simple as it sounds (like pretty much every issue) for the reasons listed above. Does that mean nothing should be done? No. We could start with looking at why we have fewer chemicals on our banned list than Europe does. Why can they make a box of macaroni and cheese without those chemicals for Europe but here we still get the other stuff? Does it taste better? Is it cheaper?
However, I also find it ironic that the people who are now jumping all on board with no mandatory vaccines and making radical changes in our food and medicines are the same ones who rebelled against Michelle Obama trying to improve the quality of school lunches and who are ok with eliminating the EPA and regulations that cost corporations money but keep us safer and healthier. Make it make sense.
ETA that I do believe that improving our diet and lifestyle can help reduce health issues and symptoms of disease. But I also don't believe that we can or should get rid of all medicines by following Mark Hyman/RFK Jr's recommendation. It is unrealistic to me that some of these people say that you can reverse all disease or look 20 when you are 60 by only changing what you eat. It is definitely important, but not a cure all.

Do some research on just what is in some of these processed foods if you care about what you eat and what you are feeding your children. I 100% agree with you that the crap that is in our food is beyond ridiculous. I try very hard to eat nothing that comes out of a box or can. Pretty much beans and tomato sauce are all I buy in a can. I've even been making my own pasta. I buy mostly fresh foods and frozen veggies. ETA: I am at a time in my life when I live alone and I can afford to do that. BUT, I do remember years when I was a stay at home mom with 4 kids, and I did the best I could feeding them. I still cooked from scratch a lot, but it was much cheaper to buy a box of hamburger helper, which was often 89 cents back then, than it was to buy all the things to make something similar from scratch. Our problem is that fresh healthy foods are beyond the reaches of many families, not only because of price but because like crimsoncat said, there are many people who live in places where their only choice to buy food is at Dollar General or worse. People do the best they can to feed their family, and I won't shame anyone for what they choose to feed their kids. I also want to remind you that when Obama was president, Michelle's cause she took up was healthy school lunches. OMG...does anyone else remember that??? "Kids won't eat that stuff!!" and worse things were said. You just can't win. Now we have wackadoodle RFK who wants to be in control of our food and health, and everyone is bowing at his feet thinking he is going to fix all that ails us and be the savior of the health of the US.

We all did that. But now we know what is in the food thanks to social media and we have a chance to make things better and get the garbage and chemicals out of the food system. And I hope that the FDA will have to atone for the lies about food that they have been feeding us (pun intended) for decades. I've done a deep dive and it's really quite appalling.
