Hi everyone! I took your advice yesterday and saw a doctor ... was prescribed some muscle relaxants and told to elevate my foot ... I see my own doctor on Thursday! I assume he will order imaging ... my sciatic nerve is what is causing me the most grief today ... if it isn't one thing it's another ... getting old sucks! I'm obviously posting early because I'm meeting my mum for breakfast at Denny's! . I didn't sleep much last night so I've been craving my veggie omelet I need to grab a few groceries and do some laundry and then I'm meeting up with a teacher friend later this afternoon ... he doesn't have a car so I take him to pick up cat litter once in awhile ... we'll have dinner together tonight ... at the local pub probably. This is what I posted on Facebook today ... it basically sums up my dating life right now ... seriously. I hope you are having a better day today naby64 ... feel free to vent here! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

No bueno, leannec ! You need to start feeling better! I'm just relaxing this morning watching cooking shows before I head out to get my hair done. My sisters and mom and I make a day of it and take mimosas and snacks. She comes in specifically for us on Sundays so we have the salon to ourselves. After hair, I'll probably go over to my sister's and watch the Cowboys play. My Seahawks are on a bye week so no game for me other than my fantasy teams. I'm playing my Son In Law this week so the taunting has already started! My sister helped me bring my tree in from the garage yesterday and only the bottom part was lit. The other lights flashed on and off all day and then decided to stay on last night. This tree has been with me from Seattle to DC and now to Dallas. Every year, it's a crap shoot if it will stay lit and it has rallied every year so I'm happy. I'll decorate it throughout the week but wanted to get it up so I had it ready. Hope you all have a fun and relaxing Sunday and that your team wins (if they are playing today!) Edited to add: I'll do take and bake pizza for dinner. There is a good shop next to the salon.

Good evening,
DH left for the airport early this morning and is now winging his way to your side of the Atlantic! He woke me before he left, which was good as it was later than I normally get up, even on a Sunday. I had planned to go to church, but this cough is hanging on stubbornly, it was cold and misty and I would have had to go by bus and train, so I stayed home. My cleaner dilemma from a couple of weeks back has now resolved itself - I just need to talk to her and my prior cleaner who sent her to me when he left. She was supposed to come today while we were at church - our compromise of her not being able to work weekdays anymore and Saturday just not working for us. We’ll, not only did she not turn up, she hasn’t contacted me to let me know what happened. This just can’t go on, so I am going to contact old cleaner tomorrow and tell him it’s not working having her and why. Then I will also let her know that we no longer need her. I was going to keep her until we leave for Australia in December (it would have been two more cleaning days) but I can’t live with the uncertainty.
Dinner tonight is going to be more of the yummy Mexican beef casserole from k k ast night, because that means I don’t havv veg e to cook anything!
Enjoy your Sunday!

Another sunny day before temperatures drop and rain hits tomorrow. The 9ers play this morning so we'll watch that. Dinner will be a Tri-Tip roast. I found this quite interesting.

Good morning. leannec , what does the doctor think is wrong w/your foot? Why would they not image it? Ods has a similar issue and not great insurance, but it's employer paid. A doctor talked to him over the phone and sent him for an xray. He should get a call or message from the doctor by tmw? What on earth? His ankle and foot are completely red and swollen. You both deserve much better care. Tearisci , how many sisters do you have? Your day sounds really fun. Does your hairdresser indulge in the mimosas before or after she does everyone's hair? Enjoy your day.
sueg, that housekeeper absolutely needs to go. Clearly, she doesn't care about her job and you want a meticulous and caring cleaner. I'm guessing that you're very kind and easy to work for. She is disrespectful and lazy. cadoodlebug , that's a really interesting meme. Go Niners!!!!!!
Have a fun and relaxing day, everyone. Wishing you an easy work day AussieMeg .

I have 3 sisters and a brother. We do pretty much everything together. My hairdresser has a mimosa while she's doing our hair. One has to be able to hold their liquor here in Texas

scrapmaven - I don’t think my cleaner is lazy at all. I think she is trying to do too much and is overwhelmed. All was fine until a couple of months back, when she started working another job, at a restaurant, and also went back to school to learn German to improve her employment prospects. That meant she wasn’t available during the week, but she still wanted to keep her commitment to clean for me. My guess is she missed today because she was overslept and/or just totally forgot she was due here. I am happy for her to be improving herself and her situation, but I can’t continue with the uncertainty.

DH and I went into the city this morning to grab some groceries. There is only one grocery store that carries the sausages that he likes so we went there.
It’s a rainy day so not much to do except laundry and some cleaning. Yuck! I’ll get that done and then I can sit down with my book.
Supper is rechauffe steak and salad.

I didn't want to bump yesterday's thread but wanted to comment on a couple things. First, I want to go stay at a winery in Australia with AussieMeg ( and a weekend at her company beach house), next I love that your group supports the local CASA program cadoodlebug , and lastly, hugs to you naby64 as you navigate life & marriage going forward. Also, I hope your show went well, teddyw . Wish I lived closer and been able to go. sueg , I always had the impression from what you shared that your cleaner was trying to do it all, not with intent to slack, but has reached an overload point on her commitments. DH is whining about the rain in Vancouver while all I see is blue sky. It is cold enough to run the furnace this morning but due to hit the mid70sF/mid20sC this afternoon. The San Diego version of fall weather. So what do I take to my retreat next weekend? I'm not a page preplanner and don't want to take everything but the kitchen sink. Even card making requires a lot of stuff to come along. For years we did an 8 person retreat at a farmhouse with the perfect attached studio and did pretty much transport out craft rooms, but this is a hotel with much smaller individual space. I have a kit that will take up most of one day, a class for another half day and then for the other couple days. I am taking my knitting, too, but don't think the seating will be comfortable enough for knitting. At the rate DS is going through the Thai leftovers I don't think much will be left for dinner, even though it is just the 2 of us. I think I'll make a lasagne because it is relatively quick and easy and I have zucchini and spinach that need to be used. There should be plenty leftover for tomorrow, too. DD is going to Sabrina Carpenter tonight. I think this is her 6th concert since September when we saw Pink together. I'd go to more shows if I didn't have to deal with traffic and parking.

bc2ca I pretty much take the kitchen sink or I used to to weekend retreats. Over the past couple years I’ve really narrowed down what I take with me. Last weekend I was at one on beautiful Chautauqua Lake here in New York and I took only pictures, etc. for my great niece because I wanted to get that done. Long story short I didn’t get it done because of the people I was with, but that’s a whole other story for another day. This coming Thursday through Sunday I’m attending another one and I just went through and sorted, pictures, paper, etc. for my great nephews scrapbook and a small wedding scrapbook that I’m doing. I went through and matched up colors and now I just have to re-sort pictures. here’s a picture of the lake where I was scrapbooking

bc2ca I tend to take way too much. I even take my Cricut and only made one cut. But, since I have an 8' table all to myself, it works. Actually I take less than a lot of the women. One gal has her DH rent a small U-Haul trailer to bring everything! I'll have to take pictures next time. Whatever you end up taking, have a wonderful time! christine58. The lake photo is beautiful. I'm sorry you had drama at the crop and didn't get to finish.

I’m gonna see what weekends they have open and maybe book one with some friends. The place is gorgeous absolutely gorgeous

LOL - no way I can fit all my things on an 8 foot table. It worked to bring whatever we wanted to a place where we could drive up to the door and all hands worked to move things in and out and we could set up zones/tables for die cutting and sharing supplies. I'm not schlumping multiple trips from car through the lobby to my room and then down to the event space the next morning. I think I might take a couple of embroidery projects because they are so portable. And maybe work on some project planning/organizing for next year. christine58, your lakeside retreat is in a stunning spot.

I went to a craft fair with a former neighbour. I got some shopping done there and it was awesome. I will go again next year. We had lots of fun.
I am thinking dinner will be something from M&M because someone just did a big shop there recently.
we are all good. Football is on and there is a fan in the family. The weather is great and it’s an all round great weekend.

I have no idea for dinner. I am prepping some condiments for the week's meals. I had leftover stir-fry for lunch. I tried to be a nice wife today and picked up a half rack of ribs for H. He didn't want them for lunch so they are his dinner. I did help him make the bed. With his health issues it just takes too long. I also left Sunday School before it even got started. I just feel like I'm a mess. I'm taking DD's advice. Take the weekend to heal and try to get back to my normal self.
I may roast up a couple of butternut squash for dinner.

Our hotel has a huge conference room on the bottom floor where a door leads to where we park. We get luggage carts and keep 2 of them downstairs by the room. Not all my stuff goes ON the table as I also have extra chairs/side tables with stuff. And under the table for stuff I *might* need. We arrive at 10AM on Thursday and immediately have access to the room since our CM hostess sets up Wednesday night with all her products, extra tables to work on if needed or to eat meals at. When we shared tables, there were often up to 32 scrappers. Now we get the whole table and she limits it to 18-20.

we ended up not going out for breakfast but watched our 49'er football team win in the last 3 seconds. I spent a weekend cropping lately and fit everything into two large canvas bags. I'm the queen of minimal scrapbooking. dh walked to town for groceries and had a good time talking to merchants.
naby64..thinking of you!!

I had a busy weekend, and did nothing all at the same time, lol. Yesterday, DS wanted help picking small rugs for his house. Bathrooms, doors, sink areas. It’s getting colder here finally, and he realized his feet get cold. So we went to lunch first, and I had leftovers for dinner I did a ton of laundry, including rugs, and extra blankets. I also cleaned our basement. Some deep cleaning like shampooing carpet, and scrubbing the basement bathroom shower. I also hung new curtains, they’ve literally been in my closet for months and just needed to pull the old ones down and put these up. I want to start using the basement more, so I felt like it needed some attention! Dinner tonight was luckily though of this morning, I put some pork chops in the crockpot. We also just had some stuffing and cottage cheese to go with. I’m glad I thought of it this morning, because I didn’t really plan on doing so much today, and I’m tired!

I do not miss lugging all that stuff to crops. I miss going. My class this weekend was kind of like a crop but the instructor brings all the supplies. Since it’s jewelry the stuff is mostly small. 2 of my DDs came over and made seafood pasta for my birthday this week. Dd3 and I will go out to one of our favorite restaurants when she’s back in town. leannec have the muscle relaxers helped?
