Good morning. Today I have my voice lesson. I'll do some chores and knit, as well. I'm really enjoying knitting and I'm feeling more confident, but still have a long way to go. What is everyone up to today? Dinner is rechauffe chasu noodle soup for dh. What's on your menu? What is everyone up to this week? Weather pending we might do a little getaway. We're waiting to see what the forecast says. leannec, how is your foot? naby64, how are your spirits today? May this rough patch end and may you feel happier very soon. Delta Dawn, I don't know what Heinz salad cream is, but I'm guessing it's not sold in the USA. Perhaps someone knows it and can give you a review. May this week bring happiness, contentment, fulfillment and all good things to everyone.

Happy Monday!
I'm plugging along with my social posting this week so I'm happy. The contract with the chocolatier ran out so I'm sad not to be doing those anymore. Metal building contractors and sump pump specialists just aren't as fun.
I'll have my parents over for dinner tonight and we're having spaghetti.
Hope you all have a good day!

I think I'm going to skip AquaFit this morning as it is starting to drizzle, it's windy and the wind chill is 49°. I have Crazy Rummy this afternoon. Dinner will be either Chicken Noodle Soup or Pizza.

Happy Monday! Still waiting for real Fall to arrive. We seem to be stuck in the muggy, warm and not nice part of fall. Now that I have finished posting all the quilt festival photos, I have time to wander back over here and catch up with everyone. Today I'll be out at the skilled nursing facility with DH. Later this afternoon I need to come back home and make some phone calls about home health care set up. He is currently slated to be discharged Nov 22 so I need to get things like equipment, home PT and health care.
Dinner tonight will be leftover spaghetti, a salad and then some needlepoint while I watch The Voice. Hope everyone has a good day!

Good evening all,
Our weather has decided it is winter already. It was only 1C when I woke up this morning - that’s just above freezing point for those of you in F. We are expecting it to stay this cold or even colder fir g to he week and there is rain expected Wednesday or Thursday, which means slush or snow, depending on how the temps and the rain combine. My first task this morning was dealing with my cleaner problem, so I drafted messages both to her and to her boss. I then walked to the store for a few things while I reviewed it all in my head, then sent the messages when I got home. It all went so much easier than I expected. From reading her reply to me, I think she was relieved I had pulled the plug, saving her from having to quit. The boss was also kind and I think he may have been sort of expecting it too. He has also said he will contact another cleaner who works for him, to see if she can take over. He also said ‘until I come back’ which pleased me as I thought he had given up on the cleaning part himself and was now just training and supplying people as cleaners. After lunch, it was my normal cold afternoon activity - knitting on the sofa. Today has been finishing up bits - knitting an edging and sewing sweater parts together. This is not my favourite part of knitting and it’s why I am leaning more to knit in one piece garments lately.
Tomorrow I am planning to go back to the Oral clinic where they found my brain tumour - we still have to solve the problem that sent me there in the first place and as I’m 3 months post surgery, it’s time. Later in the week I am meeting my friend for coffee and for me to help her finish a sweater she is knitting for her daughter.
Dinner tonight is chicken curry. It will be an Indian curry and there will be vegetables in it and most likely rice on the side.

sueg, I'm glad that you're on the way to finding a new cleaner and that the cleaning woman was ready to leave, anyway. It worked out for both of you. I'll think the healthiest thoughts for you tmw as you talk to the doctor about your cheek. May it be easily fixed. Soon, you'll be w/your precious dgds, watching them open all of your lovely and fun gifts.

I’m leaving shortly to meet a former coworker for lunch. We meet in the middle and it’s about a 45 minute drive for me.
Supper will be Shake and Bake pork chops. DH is trying hard not to eat potatoes so coming up with sides for him is challenging. Any thoughts?

DH is trying hard not to eat potatoes so coming up with sides for him is challenging. Any thoughts? We have a vegetable and fruit salad every night with our protein. I also have a green salad and sometimes DH has one too. When we have pork chops, I bake a small yam for him. The vegetable rotates between zucchini, yellow squash, corn, green beans, roasted sugar snap peas, etc.

The prescription is really helping ... my sciatica is a lot better too! Hopefully my own doctor will be able to investigate further! I'm doing absolutely nothing today! I was in the tub at am! Then I did a load of laundry and went back to bed for awhile ... I'm so strange. Dinner will be something easy ... maybe poached eggs.

I am thinking about going swimming this morning. it is quite windy out.. but may give it a go for a bit. we would go 5 min down the road to a public beach and swim in the ocean. I have swim caps for myself and dh.. so we are easier to spot in the water.
this evening, we are going out on a dinner boat cruise. so that should be fun. not much else today I think.

It's 15 degrees here this morning! Good thing I don't have to be out much today! Dinner is going to be some kind of shrimp thing. I have made it before it has coconut cream and spinach in it. ntsf you're a brave soul to go swimming in the ocean!! That sounds terrifying to me!! lol I didn't do much this weekend besides work on my cross-stitch project, watch the Good Wife (I have a few episodes left) and do a little housework. Dh's buddy was down for the weekend, so they did their own thing.

Delta Dawn, I don't know what Heinz salad cream is, but I'm guessing it's not sold in the USA. Perhaps someone knows it and can give you a review. I'm pretty sure it is a British condiment. Mom used to love Miracle Whip on her salad as the closest equivalent while the rest of us would pick Thousand Island or that lovely orange French dressing (does it still exist?). DH is trying hard not to eat potatoes so coming up with sides for him is challenging. Any thoughts? I use a lot of cabbage these days. Braised or roasted "steaks" are really good with pork chops. Cauliflower is another substitute. Yams, sweet potatoes, turnips and parsnips are also good. I will roast a mix or vegetables, including a potato or two, when I first limited carbs. If he wants mashed potatoes you can go half & half with mashed sweet potatoes/turnips/parsnips to at least reduce the carb hit and improve the nutrition. My favorite thing ever and something we hardly ever do here. I know it sounds weird, but our water is not warm like Hawaii or Greece. I'm on my third load of laundry and working on tidying the house. I have a small laser procedure on my left eye Wednesday and a onc appt Thursday immediately before getting an early start on the weekend and heading to our retreat. I realized this morning I should get all my things packed and ready to go by tomorrow. A recipe for Coconut Honey Lime Chicken popped up in my IG feed this morning and I have chicken breasts that need to be used or frozen, so will decide what to do later. I do have a full lasagne in the fridge as well.

bc2ca, I just googled and you can probably get French dressing at Vons, Albertsons or Ralphs. I used to like it, as well. The migraine has re-entered the building. I have a messaged my neurologist. We had postponed our getaway due to the weather and now I'm glad we postponed.

We are having Keg burgers for dinner so it seems. There are lots of vegetables in the house that can be roasted or eaten raw. Father is sick of roasted vegetables, Dawn wants to keep eating them. He doesn’t have to eat them, does he? I can make him broccoli or green beans, right? I could make both. We have both in the fridge. I am trying to keep him alive as long as I can, but he is determined to keep buying packaged (highly processed) food. I am offsetting that by making vegetables. He is also 82.75 and he can eat what he wants.

Happy Monday! Thankfully, the work day is almost over for me.
It was a very busy weekend. All the kids and grandkids were over for dinner last night. YDS brought his girlfriend. She is very sweet. He seems to be so happy and I am happy for him. He is 32 and never had a very serious girlfriend before.
My parents house went on the market today in SC. They close on their duplex up here this Friday. Thinking I will have to make another trip down there before the end of the year. Ugh...
We have plenty leftover from yesterday so that's the plan.

Thanks for the suggestions and comments on sides for DH. He likes vegetables but hates sweet potatoes. We are very used to having a meat, potatoes and a veggie for supper. I love salad and eat it with most meals. For the last few days DH has asked for a salad as well. Finding it hard to fill him up with little carbs.
My lunch today with my friend was yummy. I had a chicken, Brie and green apple flatbread with a balsamic drizzle.

Well, as per usual, my dinner plans have changed. I'm taking my parents out to dinner and we're going here: Babe's Chicken House. Good southern style food served family style. I usually get the chicken fried steak which is huge and I end of bringing at least half of it home.

I eat fat like cream cheese and that helps. I also love strawberries and make a smoothie in the morning. Also his inflammation will go away and you don’t know you have it until it’s gone. Carbs in vegetables are needed and a perfect day for me is 30 carbs. (I know you didn’t ask)…

I only had to work part of the day, and worked from home. But the computer program and my laptop don’t always communicate well, so I didn’t get all I wanted done. Oh well.
I shampooed the bedroom carpet, and lounges around.
We had some lobster ravioli for dinner (premade), and Alfredo sauce. They were pretty good.
DH has decided he wants to watch Yellowstone now, so he’s watching an episode now. I started watching Gilmore Girls this afternoon, I need a new show to binge watch this fall.
