How about looking at NUMBERS. The blue areas are heavily populated and the red are not so much.

I saw someone say that all states are actually a shade of purple and I like that. There are people who vote red who live in blue states and counties and vice versa. I live in an area that is more like 55-60% R but luckily overall our state typically votes D, so we don't have quite the same problems at the state level as states who vote all R. But there definitely is a mix of people in most areas.

Look at you presenting facts like they matter! (Sarcasm) Her posting that map like it is some sort of obvious gotcha fact just shows how deluded and ignorant and lacking in critical thinking skills she is. It would be sad if it weren't so absolutely terrifying and horrifying how many people are just like her.

Screw Hawaii and Alaska.
But look at all that dark gray that didn’t vote at all! Slackers.

In the thread about democracy, in a long rambling post, you rejected this writer’s theory that Trump won the election because of ignorance and conservative media speaking with one voice. However, most of your posts, especially this one, prove exactly that point. You are not thinking critically and maybe, most of the other Trump supporters are not thinking critically either. Unfortunately, the entire country is about to suffer the consequences of your ignorance and lack of critical thinking skills. newrepublic.com/post/188197/trump-media-information-landscape-fox

This map shows which party won the majority of votes in a county, not that 100% of the voters in a red county were GOP votes. Or 100% of blue counties were Dem votes.
It certainly cannot be extrapolated to say Dems are not half the country. It provides zero information to support that statement.

My reaction was "It looks likes the maps of the US from space!" Now, I wonder why that could be? Oh yeah, land and people are different things!

Please tell me this is some kind of joke? The OP is just trying sarcasm? Please? Anything? Nope. She is a Trump syncophant. She's obviously also completely lacking in critical thinking. She loves to post things to get people riled up and then leave.

Only 10 states have a population greater than Los Angeles county...
Los Angeles County isn't all that big in comparison to the size of United States.
Try wrapping your head around that...

This is also a problem in Canada. Rural areas get too much pull on elections. I live in a small city. I own my OWN house and the little land on it. Last Provincial election my city voted for the Liberal Party. Rural areas voted overwhelming for the Conservative Party and now are all shocked at what that Conservation Party is doing. You voted back in someone who was already not funding our healthcare and education sectors properly and exactly what did you expect to happen? Before the last election it was found that Ford didn't use most of the pandemic money from the Feds for healthcare and education. Did voters care? Nope. A large majority didn't even vote because they "didn't like any of the candidates". So Ford won again but with a very low percentage of votes. And now I hear complaints from those same people who voted for him or didn't vote at all.
Well, F you. My very health problem 20 year old son finally got a family doctor this year but that was after I went to Reddit. Someone read my story and messaged me privately that she might have a doctor for him. We are finally getting some answers to his health issues and treatment. My son is also trans. He got so depressed after the USA election. All he sees is people voting for HATE. And our federal Conservative Party is copying too much from the Republicans. One of the provinces that decided to attack trans youth with "parental rights" in schools for things like preferred pronouns got tossed in a recent elections. The province that went more extreme though with parents rights is just breaking my heart for trans youth. The leader of the federal Conservative Party when asked about the "parental rights" bill for schools in Alberta said he agreed parents should have the right to know if their kid wants to be called by a different name, referred to a different gender.
“We have to respect parental rights and I stand for parental rights because I trust parents to make the right decision for their kids,” Poilievre told Murphy. “This is a key area where Justin Trudeau and I just disagree. He believes that he should be able to impose his radical ideology on other people’s kids, by demanding provinces implement his thinking and calling anyone who disagrees, whether they’re Muslim, or Jewish, or Christian parents, hateful. And so I think he should butt out and let parents raise kids.”
This quote shows how out of touch he IS. Outing out a child who could be in a family that would kick them out or abuse them for who THEY ARE is damaging to the child. It is NOT Hateful to point this out! It is not HATEFUL to want to protect vulnerable youth.
We've seen how some states are now treating females, LGBTQ+ community and it scares the shit out of us. We've seen the disinformation come to our country. A lot of our media is now USA owned. That media won't cover on how Canada came out of the pandemic better than most other countries. They don't cover how corporations are making bank and how that is a problem since it directly impacts how much we pay for goods. They won't cover how interest rates are better now. Nope that goes against their directive to get a government in power that will only care about controlling people's lives and now how those lives are affected but whatever else they want to cut funding from.
So anytime someone posts a "your vote doesn't matter" like this, I want to ask: Do you CARE? Do you care how the negative direct result is going to harm your fellow human being? Or do you just don't see them as "human"?

It's creating an illusion of stark differences. That is exactly the point that the OP is trying to make. “We have the majority so screw you and what you think.” That’s about all I have seen the right say in the last week, while democrats are trying to figure out how to help people and “serve”.

I'm a registered Republican so I can try to vote out the craziest candidates in a closed primary state with gerrymandered maps. I voted mostly Democrat in the general election. Quite a few local seats were uncontested Republican. It didn't matter I voted for Harris because...red state.
I don't see your point.

What are all those gray spots in Mississippi supposed to represent? I'd like to know that too. A few of the counties ended up going blue, but not all of them.
