No, not weird. Smart. Intelligent. Planning ahead. Semper paratis. Be prepared. Like the Boy Scouts. I don't see it that way. I see it as planning for THE pandemic to happen in Trumps presidency so what you're saying is, if you pay for insurance on your car for the next year, it's because you WILL FOR SURE total your car in an accident in that time? You're going to do it on purpose?? or if you have fire insurance on your house, it's because you're PLANNING to have a fire? okay, then. sure. ETA: I think after reading the last few threads to catch myself back up, our collective standard response to all of this is basically, "THAT'S NOT HOW ANY OF THIS WORKS. AT ALL."

I see it as planning for THE pandemic to happen in Trumps presidency Wow, I didn’t know that Obama had the uncanny ability to see into the future to know it would be Trump who got elected, when everyone predicted Clinton would win. Bush actually started the pandemic preparedness ball rolling back in 2005 and other presidents since then have expanded and refined it. abcnews.go.com/Health/run-plays-officials-trump-administration-pandemic-playbooks/story?id=71999769

You just aren't understanding how our elections work and where the population lives. You just aren't. Side note: Here in California, we pay for most of the country. Yet Trump threatens to give us Zero money for our natural disasters. How nice. I wonder what happens when we stop sending that money? "The Leopards might Eat Your wrathful, prideful boastful, Face". I was thinking that too, since MN also sends more to the feds than we get back. Maybe all of us blue states should just keep our money at home since we’re the ones funding the states that don’t tax enough. Yes!! The nasty northeast sends oodles.. much more then we get back. *** Tax Burden by State 2024 worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/tax-burden-by-state

Here in Texas, I’d like for the blue cities to keep all our tax revenue instead of sending large chunks of it to keep red rural areas from collapsing.

It seems to be the default emotion among many Republicans these days. 🤷♀️ Actually, this republican is pretty effing happy these days. And greatly relieved. AND I’m looking forward to the hope of a better next 4 years than the last 4 years. I hope you get everything you voted for. EVERYTHING you voted for.

No, but the mismanagement of the pandemic is completely Trump's fault. Maybe if Trump had not thrown out the handbook to a pandemic created and handed over by the Obama administration, it would have turned out better Trump's presidency was a shit show before covid. And if you're mad about the Black Lives Matter protests, Trump was in charge. Maybe if Trump had not thrown out the handbook to a pandemic created and handed over by the Obama administration, it would have turned out better That sounds like they were gearing up for a pandemic...one that hadn't occurred for 100 years before. Weird that obama created a pandemic handbook....So you can really truthfully say that in this day and age when everything is so globally linked and with easy, cheap travel that you think the chances of a pandemic are less than they were 100 years ago? IMO, that is so illogical. And truthfully I am shocked that it took until Obama to create a handbook. Every place that I have worked has had disaster recovery plans , along with plans for other events. From banking to Healthcare. Why would you think it is strange a Country needs diasters plans?

I see it as planning for THE pandemic to happen in Trumps presidency You really are dense. There had been other viruses throughout the last 100 years (even the last 20 years) that threatened to become pandemics. People with knowledge decided to plan and prepare so that we could be…prepared if and when it happened. It wasn’t a conspiracy against Trump. Heck, Trump wasn’t even in politics when it was written. Trump mishandled Covid from the beginning. And if he was a strong leader he would have made Covid the enemy rather than using it as yet another issue to create division. But he is neither smart nor a good leader so we got what we got. And you are completely missing the point of my post. Which is that you can’t blame Covid for Trump’s economic numbers but ignore it when looking at Biden’s. Unless, of course you are a dense hypocrite who will twist yourself into pretzels to defend Trump.
