As I was surfing through FB the other day, I saw an ad for (what I thought was) Graphics 45 A Christmas Carol paper. I remember having purchased a few papers and embellishments from that set at Tuesday Morning several years ago. When I clicked on the ad, it had another company's name on it - and I think the company name was something other than Graphics 45 and the papers were called something else other than A Christmas Carol - but the papers were the exact same thing. I often go to scrapbook.com to check out collections. They carry Graphics 45 supplies, so evidently, they're still in business. Has anyone else come across this sort of thing?

If I had to guess, I bet what you saw was a Chinese copy of the G45 papers. They knockoff papers, stamps, etc and then sell them on Temu or Ali Express.

Is this result of an agreement between both parties, or are the designs just "ripped off" (for lack of a better word)? I would think the latter is illegal, isn't it?

US laws do not apply in China where most of this stuff if from.

It’s probably as others have said, a knock off, especially since you were seeing it as a social media ad.
But I have also found some companies license their designs to others, or they buy licensed designs that others might end up buying too. I don’t know enough about G45 to know if they have in-house designers or if they ever buy or sell designs.

Temu has Graphic 45 copies. I've seen them before. That is the only stolen papers I've noticed on there. They do steal Tim Holtz stamps, too.

My assumption is that the G45 designs were pirated.

Slight Hijack - if you are looking for some of their papers, Cheap Scrapbook Stuff is liquidating and has quite a selection and if you use the code LIQUIDATE you get an additional 25% off. link
