I get Courtney Carver's (of Bemorewithless.com) Weekend Favorites in my email every Saturday morning. One of her picks this week was this article from Scientific American that really explores "election grief," by describing it as ambiguous loss. It doesn't just explain, explore and validate how we are feeling, it also includes gentle advise on how to move forward. I thought it was well written and hope it is helpful. www.scientificamerican.com/article/election-grief-is-real-heres-how-to-cope/?I don't know how to mark this as Politics. Lisa

Thank you.
I am avoiding politics completely at this point. This country is screwed and, sadly, there’s nothing more I can do to help save it.
Will mark it as politics for you. ETA oh, I guess it is already.

ETA oh, I guess it is already. I’m the same way. It sickens me to think about what is going on. I need to concentrate on my mental health and my cancer.

Keep the faith! I'm trying to avoid news too because I get too aggravated thinking either a) there was election fraud or b) the country is dumb enough to get him back into the office.
Granted, I'm a dual citizen (with Canada) and my job will move with me, which is comforting. But I have faith that we will rise above this.
I've said this on another thread, but I have come around to thinking that this has to happen just to wake up his cult. Cut Medicare, veterans rights, etc. I HATE it but if that what it takes to turn the country around we have to accept it. I got into my bathtub on 11/6 with way too much wine, and I spent too much time there being mad and grieving. Then I picked myself up and decided to do what I can to protect the rights of people who don't have the advantages/jobs/income/race that I do. I can't just give up. I hate that he's back in the office and it's going to get ugly but those of us on the right side have to stand strong.
I saw a tshirt that says "Woke - it's not the insult you think it is". I'm going to make it for myself and wear it proudly. Fuck the Trumpers, we can stand up and fight.
