I had only ever really heard it one way (I think) or at least that I have noticed. I was surprised about the new pronunciation I heard and wondered how prevalent it was.
SIV like GIVE is a better choice but I can’t edit the poll. Sorry. 😆
ETA - SIV like live - live life…live and let live, etc.
Sieve - as in similar to colander, strainer, etc.
I use them all interchangeably, although I know they are all different types of kitchen tools and should have different purposes. 😄

Slightly different from your choices. Live = long i and I don't pronounce sieve with a long I
I pronounce it more with a short e sound. Sort of eh sound

I pronounce it like sleeve without the s. I do think it is funny you picked the word live though, since it has 2 different pronunciations. At first I read it with a ‘live from New York” pronunciation and was wondering who in the hell would pronounce it that way?

I'm confused by your "live" choice....do you mean with a short "i" or a long "i"?
I pronounce "sieve" like "siv" with a short "i"...the same vowel as in "hit" or "sit".

At first I thought you meant "live" like SNL. I say it as rhymes with "give"

At first I read it with a ‘live from New York” pronunciation and was wondering who in the hell would pronounce it that way? Same! I kept trying to pronounce it like live as in “alive”, or like in “live from NY”. But I pronounce more like the poll’s second option.

Sorry, I know my choice of rhyming word for ive was bad. My iPad was dying and I was trying to think of something fast and it was the first thing I thought of. Then I tried to edit it and add the word I meant. Hahaha. My usual cluster when trying to post or add a poll.
SIV like give. That is what I should have used. 😆😆

Mostly "siv" but sometimes "seeve." I know the former is correct, but my Long Island-ese creeps in sometimes.

Sieve = live (like "live a little") = give.

SIV like "give" for me.
I feel like I may have heard a few "seeve" pronunciations in my lifetime, but just a few. I'd say 98% of the time, if I actually hear someone say that word, they pronounce it as I do.

Siv, but only because of Bridget Jones’ mum:
“the gravy needs sieving!” 😁.
Before that movie I’d pronounce it Seev.
