Buying gifts for men is so difficult. My mom's husband is even more difficult. He doesn't seem to have an opinion on much stuff and rarely seems excited by any gift. Last year I got him an extremely bright headlamp and he uses and likes that. One year I did a photo calendar for him of old pictures of his parents. He's a hunting and fishing guy but prefers to buy his own hobby items. He doesn't drink fancy drinks, likes plain coffee cups and only wears one specific style of white Nike sneaker. He honestly wouldn't care if I got him a gift at all but I refuse to show up to Christmas without a gift for him.
What are you all buying for the hard to shop for men in your lives?

What about a flavored coffee or fancy brand in the flavor he likes? Any sweet treats or fun snacks or drinks (fancy bottled soda, craft beer)?
If the photo calendar was a hit how about one of the GK or them with him this year. I'm not allowed to show up at Xmas with our these for the GPs. I keep it super simple, some times just 1 photo per month, sometimes more.
For my DH I grab a 12 days of Xmas box of Ciders. It has a variety of different flavors and he likes trying them. For my DS he gets a variety box of Mexican sodas. TJs will let you create your own 6 pack of beers. I think places like Total Wine and Bevmo will do the same.

Does he like sweets? Gift card for Bundt Cake, ice cream shop, Crumble cookie, etc...
Does he like to eat out? Restaurant gift card.
Does he like to go to the movies? Movie gift card.
Does he like to barbeque? Assorted sauces.

Honestly, I feel like the best answer for "would be happy to receive nothing at all" people, is to buy a GC for a place they shop and a favorite snack / treat or useful like batteries/socks/whatever.

Since he is a Hunting and Fishing guy I'd get him a variety of Jerky's or spice rubs for different game and Fish. My BIL loved the Jerky Advent Calendar last year! I got it from the Man Crate company I think. He also liked the Cast Iron Dutch Oven pan and cookbook I gave him a few years ago.

So far my DH is getting a book about the history of the guitar in America and a set of fancy playing cards. I'm also looking for a guitar-shaped cribbage board that I like.

We spent Christmas Eve at a friend’s house some years ago and there was this really crabby old dude there. I think he might have been someone’s FIL? We didn’t know him. Anyway, that year I made everybody jars of homemade chocolate fudge sauce and homemade caramel sauce, labeled them with cute labels on the lids and wrapped it all up nice. I brought a couple extra sets, just in case, and because he was there I gave him a set. OMG. 😳 You would have thought the sun had just come out after a month of rain, he was so thrilled to get it and started yammering endlessly about using the caramel sauce on his homemade apple pie! It was seriously the best reaction, and much better than I ever would have expected. The caramel sauce takes literally about six minutes per batch in the microwave, and the hot fudge sauce takes just a bit longer than that, maybe ten minutes. So easy and everyone loved it.

For the past several years I gave the 3 men in my family Man Bar Soap. They really like the scents. There are several to choose from. This year I am looking for a different soap just to change it up. I have also given my son a pack of jerky made from different meats that enjoyed (like bison, turkey, etc)

My son is getting money as is DDIL. They just bought a house and I want them to buy stuff for their house. That’s what DS is doing. DDIL I hope is as well.
Dad I am taking him shopping and will get him some clothes. There is a store he likes and he needs some shirts in a bigger size. (He is 82 and allowed to do anything he wants).
I am getting money and am not buying anymore clothes because I am trying to lose weight and I got clothes for my birthday this month. Christmas I am going to just buy some makeup. That is easy.

Would you shares those recipes? Sure! Here is the recipe for the caramel sauce: cookiesandcups.com/microwave-caramel-sauce/And I think this is the one I used for the hot fudge sauce. I had a few different ones saved in my Pinterest and they’re all pretty similar. I’m pretty sure I made it in the microwave though and not on the stovetop. You just have to watch it closely and stir in between heating so you just melt the chocolate and don’t overheat it. www.crazyforcrust.com/5-minute-hot-fudge-sauce/

My dh is getting The Sopranos DVDs, a new sand wedge, golf balls, a couple tools, a Lego set
DS is getting a Shop Vac, a Party Speaker, tools, and a soundbar- and probably some other stuff.
This is our first Christmas without any dads, but generally we would get them gift cards. Last year DHs stepdad asked for a Food Saver and we got him that plus an extra box of the bags and rolls. More than we would normally spend, but we knew it would likely be his last Christmas, so we did it. He never had a chance to use it and MIL doesnt get the appeal, so it is back at my house now.

My husband is SO hard to shop for so I try to get us tickets to something fun in the upcoming year. Sometimes venues already have concerts/shows scheduled far ahead. It's a fun gift because it gives us something to look forward to!

My husband and son HATE buying for me so they want to exchange lists. I call them demand lists. My husband will want some gift certificates, underwear, etc.
I'm a big fan of gift certificates if you think he will use it.

You guys have given some good ideas. I think I am going to attempt another photo calendar. The original one I did was about 5 years ago and he still keeps it up and changes the page every month to see the pictures. He is someone that loves pictures. The original calendar was done with photos of his parents and siblings from back in the 40s and 50s. I think the new one I will do with pictures of his kids and current life.
I absolutely love the idea of doing caramel and hot fudge too! Thank you for those recipes. He's a guy that loves snacks and sometimes I wind up at Hickory Farms buying him some fancy snacks which he always enjoys. It could be fun to do the hot fudge with some sundae supplies or something.

chaosisapony Since he likes photos, how about a digital picture frame that you could preload with a bunch of pictures? That way it would be something you could update periodically with new images without it being a calendar that is outdated in a year.

littlemama, we're watching the Sopranos and it's really good television. My husband loves doing home renovations. So, he is happiest w/a gift card to Home Depot each year.

littlemama, scrapmaven We're nearly finished with the show, and I'm so sad to see it end. I got DH a cookbook based on the show, so that could be another idea (https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-sopranos-family-cookbook-artie-bucco/1121481955?ean=9780446530576). I know we'll wind up buying the DVD set of the whole series at some point, and will buy a few books we've heard about the show.
