Good morning.
I'm feeling better today. That means that I need to get the house ready for sil's visit. I've been doing some stuff like cleaning the front bathroom and tidying. Though our house is tidy since the kids moved out, there's always something to be cleaned. The cats make their own mess, too. I'm finding errant cat toys throughout the house. Yes. My kitties have a small toy box.
I'll be knitting, too. I'm finally getting the hang of this.
What's on your agenda today?
Dinner might be lamb chops. I have some in the freezer and I could make rice and peas w/them. Dh will like that.
What's on your menu?
**GypsyGirl**, how is your husband doing? Do you have a plan, yet?
leannec, how is your foot today? Please call a podiatrist if you can.
May today be happy, calm, healing for those in need and reassuring for everyone.

Happy Tuesday! Glad you're feeling better scrapmaven. My mental health day was great yesterday but this morning, I woke up with a headache and iffy stomach and I didn't sleep well. I guess it's penance for my skip day . Luckily, everyone covered for me at work and I'm not too busy other than a one-on-one with my boss. Nothing really sounds good to me food wise now that my Mounjaro is kicking in. I debated on what to have last night as salmon didn't sound good so I ended up making Skyline Chili which sat pretty well. Tonight I was going to have my parents over for dinner and to decorate my tree but I may push them off until Thursday. So far the plan tonight seems like Salisbury steak and mashed potatoes but we'll see how the day goes. Hope you all have a great day!

Tearisci, I'm sorry that you're ill this am. I wonder if it's a side effect from the Mounjaro? May your day get much better as it goes fwd.

leannec, how is your foot today? Please call a podiatrist if you can. It's a lot better after staying off of it for many hours ... definitely resting it today! I would need a referral from my family doctor to see a podiatrist ... that is how things work here in Canada ... I will make another appointment! It is another snowy day here today so I'm glad I stayed home ... commuting four freaking hours yesterday left me shattered! I plan to spend a lot of time on the couch watching mindless TV ... and visiting my bed for a nap here and there. Right now I am trying to determine what I want to eat for my late breakfast ... dinner hasn't even crossed my mind ...

I will make another appointment! Funny enough about another country's health care system, Facebook reminded me today that 7 years ago I had an appendectomy in Scotland. The ER, surgery and 7 day stay in the hospital was about 5K in total. I had amazing care and put it on my Amex. We do some things right here heathwise but the costs are really outrageous!

Good evening I have had a lovely day. I was into the city early, as I had a hairdresser appointment at 10. Once I was done there, I walked down to the city centre, passing the Haribo shop, where I picked up a few bags of candy to add to the ever growing pile of things to take to Australia. I picked up a few things at the main food market, then continued onto to the first Christmas Market to open this season at the old royal palace. It is one of my favourites - smaller than the city square one, with good food and yummy glühwein. I had lunch there, bought a few things and came home. DH is going to be late today, so I am making a chickpea and aubergine curry, as it will keep for him. Tearisci - I hear you on the Mounjaro. I’ve just taken my 4th shot at the lowest dose on Sunday and it is really kicking in now. It is really helping with food cravings and I am back to my doctor tomorrow to talk about the next steps. I assume she’ll move me up to a higher dose, as I haven’t had major problems. I’ve had a couple of episodes of heartburn, but they have been on days when I know I’ve overstepped, so it’s been a good learning tool that way. It is possible your icky tummy is a side effect, but I haven’t had any headaches with it.

Tearisci, healthcare costs in this country are just a crime. My insurance company is billed enough to buy a nice house each year. You shouldn't have to go into debt in order to receive care and every person no matter your financial status should be entitled to the same great healthcare. Might as well gorilla glue me to this soapbox. sueg, your day sounds lovely. Maybe you could offer kickbacks to Santa if he'll help you carry your goodies to the girls.

Good morning all!! I have missed you. Been under the weather during the weekend, Monday was a Monday all day, some home life things have been stressful. Ya know, just life. scrapmaven I am glad to hear you are feeling better. Do not EVER apologize for cat toys. My 2 puppers have 2 toy boxes they pull from! I am glad to hear the knitting is picking up. I used to knit. Here in the last few years I have picked up crocheting again. Nothing fancy like I see here, just basic stitching. I attempted a temperature blanket in 2020. Well, I made it through Feb and there it sits. I then bought a pattern from somewhere, Hooked on...I can't remember. I am in the FB group. It came with a video tutorial. The color of the yard is a gorgeous ombre neutral. I made it through maybe 7 rounds and got stuck. I finally put it down. One day I will pick it back up. Tearisci sorry you are feeling puny today. I think I made Skyline chili years ago. DH had heard about it on some news radio program so I looked into it. I don't think I have made it since then. Salisbury steak and taters sound good. I love it! @leannc enjoy your nap! My mind is busted and it's only 10am. It is budget prep time for me and the church. It isn't a huge process but knowing what I put down and if it gets approved by Admin Brd and then the church just puts a weight on my shoulders. I also realistically look at the coming in funds and the going out funds. We have an older membership and ya know, you just have to consider longevity. I am so guilty of numbers changing, I am considering asking to not get a raise but give me Fridays off. I only work half a day at this point on Friday. But that is where my mind is. I don't have a clue on dinner. I thought maybe a "fried" chicken but then remembered I picked up a really good fried chicken on Friday for our lunch. I don't have anything thawed. We did pizza over the weekend and I just did not like it. So my planner and wanna eat button is busted. It may be Chinese take away. sueg what a nice day. I would love to be somewhere with things to do in walking distance. Or anything fun. Curry sounds so warm and inviting. If I didn't have to feed the other half...

I couldn't fall to sleep last night and realized, at 12:05, that I forgot to play Wordle. I need to do some meal planning for now and for when DS arrives on Monday for Thanksgiving. We've got rain forecast starting tomorrow for the next 6 or so days so I need to do some major shopping today. Dinner tonight might be spaghetti and meatballs. Oops!

naby64 - while all the things I did today were in walking distance of each other, I am nowhere near walking distance to the city. It’s an 8-10 minute walk to the bus, then a 15 minute bus ride then another 15 minutes on the subway to get to the city. My hairdresser is only a 5 minute walk once I get in, then everything else in the city is close by, as things tend to be in cities that are close to 1000 years old! I do have my GP, dentist, pharmacy, nail salon and a decent supermarket within a 15 minute walk from our apartment, so day to day life is very close by.

My dad is getting a scan and I am sitting here in Starbucks. We are expecting the bomb cyclone this afternoon.
I don’t feel great today. It’s nothing I ate or anything. I just feel like I have had 100x too much caffeine.
Dinner tonight will be a mystery until I look in the freezer. It might be something with a lot of vegetables seeing we have oodles in the fridge.

I am in Las Vegas for a meeting. I am bored to tears. DH came with me so it has been nice to go to out and have some nice dinners.
Found out yesterday that my parents sold their house and will close Dec 13. I am starting to freak out a little. I will have to go down and help them drive back. Timing couldn’t be worse. I will make it work but I am stressing out.
Tonight we are having Italian. Going to a restaurant we have never tried before.

I've made it from scratch a few times before we could get the cans! I LOVE Skyline- I grew up in SE Indiana, so it is a taste of home. I always have a couple of cans in the pantry and usually use it for coney dogs. Hi all- I've had a busy day, early errands to the library and HEB, I'm going to have my grandson a few days next week and my contribution to Thanksgiving dinner can be bought ahead, so I decided to stock up today to avoid the rush, it was already busy. **GypsyGirl** The article you posted on Cookbooks inspired me to pick up a couple of cookbooks at the Library, on is called Baking Yesteryear, the top desserts from 1900 thru 1980. I'm looking forward to browsing thru it. I enjoyed the article you posted so much, It was so well written. DH and I ran a couple of errands yesterday afternoon/evening and decided to grab dinner, so today I'm making the Chicken Sausage Apple Hash that was on the menu yesterday. DH has a Real Estate Apt late afternoon. Cute meme @caddodlebug ExDH and I had a boat, I was much better at launching and trailering it than he was, the meme made me think of how me may have handled launching her. :-) sueg The German Christmas markets are on my bucket list, I'm determined that my retirement trip will be to visit a few. I can't take much time off in Q4 so when I retire, I will savor the extended trip that time of the year.
The housecleaner is here today, the house felt so dusty, I love the feel of a clean house. too bad it doesn't stay that way. Wishing everyone a great day!!!

I got my hair cut this morning and grabbed some fruit at the grocery store. This rainy and cold afternoon was perfect for snuggling up in my comfy chair with my Pepsi Zero Lime, white cheddar popcorn and my book.
Supper is rechauffe pulled pork fries for me (yes this will be day 3 but then they will be fine) and recharge Hamburger Helper for DH.

I can go to any podiatrist I want. At least that’s the way it has always been. I'll just ditto, Delta Dawn , because you definitely don't need a referral and it is treated similar to going to a chiropractor in Canada. I still suspect you need to see an orthopedic specialist as it sounds like some sort of soft tissue injury/inflammation to my non-medically trained, but lived through many athletic and nonathletic injuries in this household, brain. I really hope your doctor gave you some guidance (elevate, wrap, ice, heat, boot) instead of just pain medication. I went to yoga and have puttered around mostly letting the pup in and out, in and out, in and out since. I guess it's one way to get in 10,000 steps. Especially because I've been upstairs trying to put things I took with me last weekend away. I may have only taken one rolling bag and one tote with me, but came back with a very full extra tote of stuff that needs to find a home. So I'm adding an up and down, up and down, to the in and out exercise routine. I have a rotisserie chicken DH picked up on the weekend that needs to be used so decided to turn it into chicken stew and dumplings if I can find a dumpling recipe that excites me. If not, it will be chicken soup for dinner.

Any good dinner restaurant recommendations? We went to Javier’s in Aria. It is a good Mexican restaurant. Tonight we are headed to Scarpetta’s for Italian. That is in the Cosmopolitan. I will report back. Last night we went to Brewdog so we could watch the football game. It is a burger, pizza place. Fun place to watch games. Has a nice outdoor eating area. When we were here in August, we ate at Baguettes. Steakhouse in Park MGM. It was fabulous.

Was texting with my brother this morning who is 68 years old and Has to work because of Health insurance, as his out of pocket co pay is 1400 dollars a month for his meds. This man has had a CABG and then another several years later!! It is a sad state of affairs...only two get worse in the next 4 years!!! Dinner tonight will be tarragon turkey cutlets, rice and a salad
