stormsts and The Birdhouse Lady, while not a food recommendation, The Blue Man Group, now at Luxor was a highlight. It's so much fun and you'll feel so good when you leave the theater. It's really my favorite show.

Tearisci , healthcare costs in this country are just a crime. My insurance company is billed enough to buy a nice house each year. You shouldn't have to go into debt in order to receive care and every person no matter your financial status should be entitled to the same great healthcare. Might as well gorilla glue me to this soapbox. Glue me to that soap box with you, scrapmaven.....You just would NOT believe the things I see first hand...The number of people who wait until it is literally to late to seek care because of the cost. Was texting with my brother this morning who is 68 years old and Has to work because of Health insurance, as his out of pocket co pay is 1400 dollars a month for his meds. This man has had a CABG and then another several years later!! It is a sad state of affairs...only two get worse in the next 4 years!!! Dinner tonight will be tarragon turkey cutlets, rice and a salad That's such a shame that your brother can't retire and enjoy life. We're paying out of pocket for a PPO and it's crazy expensive, but w/my healthcare needs we have to have the best insurance.

I was paying out-of-pocket since I retired so for over seven years at a rate that just kept continuing to increase to where it was almost $700 a month and that was for a single policy. And I did not pick up the prescription because it was $300 a month and I never had prescriptions that cost me that much out-of-pocket. Now I only pay around $160 and it comes out of my Social Security. I remember when I first started teaching in 1981 and my employee paid 100%, it was like $50 a month that they paid. healthcare costs have truly gotten out of control and they’re just going to get worse.

We are headed to Vegas in a couple weeks. Any good dinner restaurant recommendations? We went to Javier’s in Aria. It is a good Mexican restaurant. Tonight we are headed to Scarpetta’s for Italian. That is in the Cosmopolitan. I will report back. Last night we went to Brewdog so we could watch the football game. It is a burger, pizza place. Fun place to watch games. Has a nice outdoor eating area. When we were here in August, we ate at Baguettes. Steakhouse in Park MGM. It was fabulous. Thank You!!! I jotted those down to take with us!

Good evening! Late posting today as I took some time this morning to play my monthly card game then went to the hospital for the afternoon. Fortunately we played cards about 10 min. drive from the hospital so it worked out well. Got home about 5 pm and have been doing a few chores around the house. Now I plan to do some sewing and needlepoint. Dinner was chicken and rice soup - getting in the mood for our first real cold front of the year tomorrow! Sweater weather! **GypsyGirl**, how is your husband doing? Do you have a plan, yet? He finished the IVIG infusions on Sunday evening and last night they moved him from IMU to the Acute care floor. Now we are shifting gears back to cancer. He had an X-ray of his shoulder last night and this morning they did a PET scan. The results of that are going to determine what our next steps will be. He and DD met the orthopedic surgeon he was referred to. He has looked at the scans done a month ago and is recommending to remove the bone where the cancer is and do a shoulder replacement. DH is not wanting to go that route, so we will have to discuss the other options at more length. As for what's after Acute care, not sure if he is going to get into the inpatient rehab or if he will come home, along with an entourage of home health care and PT people. We are going to need a private nurse for most of the day and possibly the night. It's going to be a logistics nightmare dealing with all that and a dog who isn't very friendly with strangers so I'll have to keep him shut up as much as possible. But I will cross that bridge when I get to it. Stressing me out though! **GypsyGirl** The article you posted on Cookbooks inspired me to pick up a couple of cookbooks at the Library, on is called Baking Yesteryear, the top desserts from 1900 thru 1980. I'm looking forward to browsing thru it. I enjoyed the article you posted so much, It was so well written. So glad you enjoyed the article! I just shared it on a whim and have been surprised at the response it has gotten. Enjoy the cookbooks you checked out!

I had therapy today and it was done online with handouts. It was so much work. Omg I was exhausted after it. I can really relate to my therapist so it was beyond beneficial. It was very intense.
Dinner tonight will be egg rolls. We get this brand from Costco and they are delicious. I cannot wait to have them.
I want to say today was dramatic but there was absolutely no drama involved at all. I got my dad to the hospital on time, I had fun in Starbucks, I had therapy, I took a nap and then I ordered the thing I had been waiting for from Sephora. I even got groceries and that was easy!
Today was a 100% success day. It just wore me out.
