7,707 miles from my childhood home in Iowa to Hong Kong. My brother and I went on a trip to China with our grandparents when we were 11 & 14, it was 1986.

Edit- When we were in Athens, we were at one of the very crowded tourist attractions. I started talking to the lady smashed up next to me and she asked me where I was from and I said Texas. She said she was from Austin. That's about 60 miles from me. We laughed about it. Small world but it happens every time we travel. Love stories like this. In my 20s I spent a summer working at a hotel in Greece. One woman, after realizing I spoke English, offered me the paperback she'd finished which I very happily accepted. She'd assumed I was Greek and we were both surprised to discover we lived about 3 miles from each other in Victoria. The furthest I have traveled is 7044 miles/11336 km from San Diego to Turkey. I hope to make it below the equator one day.

From Houston, TX, USA to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia - 8982 mi or 14455 km. I was curious to see where I could have gone that would be even further away, and came across this website What's the Farthest City. Put in your city and see where you could go! That's fun! It takes me to Dunedin, New Zealand, 18652 km. Ha, I think you might feel right at home in Dunedin - in my neck of the woods it's referred to as the Edinburgh of the South. If you ever decided to make the trip, I could probably make my way there and show you around. 😊

At our farthest point during our summer trip, we were 4,533 miles from our current home. Kansas City to Gothenburg, Sweden. That's the farthest in one trip, but we've moved around so much it's really relative to where we were living and where we were sent. For instance, we moved from San Antonio to Naples, Italy, then traveled to Bari, and that was about 5,427 miles from original post to the farthest we traveled in the country. So I'm not sure how to measure, really.

Florida to Hong Kong 8880 miles. 24.5 hours. When we moved home, we stopped in Hawaii, flew for many hours and got to Maui before we took off because of the time difference. I didn't know what day it was.

Fun! The furthest I've travelled from home is Melbourne to London, which is 16,903km. ETA: that converts to 10,503 miles. I was curious to see where I could have gone that would be even further away, and came across this website What's the Farthest City. Put in your city and see where you could go! The furthest city (with a population of over 100,000) from me is St Johns, NL Canada. According to Merge 's website, it would be Jakarta, Indonesia (16,528 km or 10,270 miles) Huh! That seems odd me, because Jakarta is 5700km NE from me, so my brain thinks that the southern part of Australia should be further away from you. But of course you're travelling west, so it makes sense that Jakarta is further.

Google says Barbados is 2,814 from OKC.
ETA - I just thought about Hawaii. It was farther. Google says it is 3,661. I would have thought Barbados was farther.

He was not a Scot though. I'd need a lottery win to get me there but I'll bear that in mind!
