Good morning.
Dh and I are going to pick up sil at the airport in a while. Then sil will drop her luggage and the two of us will head out on our mini girl's trip. I'm excited to spend time w/sil. The headache resurfaced, but it's not as severe. So, I'm gonna go w/meds. My neurologist is going to do Botox in a couple weeks. It'll take a week to get authorized, but it's TG next week.
What's everyone up to today?
I suggested that dh grab Indian food for dinner. It's his fave.
What's on your menu?
How is everyone doing today?
lucyg, how are you doing?
**GypsyGirl**, my wish for your day is that your dh makes progress and feels better.
Wishing everyone a happy, contended day!

I hope you have the very best time! The headache resurfaced, but it's not as severe. So, I'm gonna go w/meds. My neurologist is going to do Botox in a couple weeks. It'll take a week to get authorized, but it's TG next week. I'm sorry your headache is back. That stinks. I hope you can have fun despite it. I'm having a slow morning. Very slow. Such is the nature of my work at this point in the year. I guess in some ways, it is good because it is right around holiday time. I just wish the day didn't drag so much. We are having rechauffe tacos for dinner tonight. I ate tacos last night. Made a ton of black beans. Jeremy decided to have something else and said he would have tacos tonight while I'm rechauffeing it. I basically don't have anything exciting to share today. I told Jeremy I would make up my mind on the fridge by Saturday.

Sometimes no news is good news, jeremysgirl. What are you gonna do apart from work? Can you quilt or crochet? Thank you for your good wishes. I'm gonna go and have fun.

Have a grand time with your SIL scrapmaven ! DH's golf game for today got cancelled so he's bummed. He just left to go to the gym. I'll be hunkering down all day doing stuff. Dinner will be Jalapeno Chicken Poppers. jeremysgirl , if people are singing when we go to see Wicked, I'll be annoyed. We have a friend who would occasionally do small live concerts and sing Frank Sinatra. He was good, not great. He invited us to go to a concert of a guy who does GREAT Sinatra. I was sitting next to the friend and he quietly sang along and beat his hand to his knee to the tune. It ruined the concert for me.

Good evening all, it has been another freezing cold day here today - our top temperature was 2C! I had to go out in it, as the pharmacy had to order my meds in yesterday so I needed to go back and collect. scrapmaven - have fun either way your sil. I hope your headache doesn’t disrupt your plans. This: Is what we are having for dinner. I was given the recipe card and just enough of the spice mix as a freebie at my favourite spice shop a while back, and it’s finally the right weather for it. For those of you that don’t read German, it is Georgian chicken casserole with pomegranates. Chmeli Suneli is the name of the spice mix - it has coriander, turmeric, bay leaves and tarragon, among other things. It is currently in the oven, slow cooking for 2 hours. I am going to make couscous and broccoli to go with it, and will sprinkle pomegranate seeds over the top for decoration!

I am trying to figure out what to buy everyone for Christmas. I told Jeremy he has got to step up before next Christmas and get his family to stop exchanging gifts. Nobody needs anything and it feels forced. I asked his mom the other day if his sister needed or wanted anything good for Christmas. And she told me money because she needs new gutters. Wah, wah. I'm not giving Jeremy's 45 year old sister money for Christmas and then she's got to turn around and spend her money to get us something. It's nonsense.

My morning routine is thrown off a bit as a friend is coming by to notarize some documents for me and have a visit. Then we will fight over payment. Ugh. I use her because if I have to pay for a service, I'd rather pay a friend, not because I want a freebie. This afternoon I have another meeting over Medicare choices but that should be relatively easy as we've already did the hard work going through this with DH and a couple of friends were invaluable resources then. Why does US healthcare have to be so complicated? Enjoy your getaway, scrapmaven . ntsf , I didn't want to bump yesterday's thread, but have to say you are inspiring me to get off my butt and plan a few trips for next year. I need to check the fridge for rechauffe before deciding if it is a fend for yourself night or if I'm cooking. If I'm cooking it will be broccoli beef and rice.

Happy Thursday! Enjoy your trip scrapmaven! I'm looking forward to going out of town next week. it's a slow day at work for me although I've got a meeting at one. Not sure what dinner will be tonight. I was going to make salmon last night but it just didn't sound good to me so I put it in the freezer and ordered Indian. The weight loss drugs are making it really hard for me to want to eat anything but I'm leaning more toward bold flavors. I might make the chicken chili I've been putting off this week. Just not sure yet. I'll see what I feel like as the day goes on. Hope you all have a great day!

Happy Friday-eve dinner friends! scrapmaven enjoy your Girls trip with SIL. sueg Your dinner sounds delish!! cadoodlebug and jeremysgirl I love sing alongs but only when they are designated as such. Not random audience members. I have tickets to see Wicked with two friends the day after Thanksgiving, I saw the Broadway play 3 times ( NY, Chicago and London) and loved it! @b2ca I have to made the medicare decisions in the next couple of years, I'm so dreading it! I'm on puppy duty today, I have a client call at 11, of course she's being good now, but the minute I start to lead the call, she will get restless. Dinner will be more of the Lasagna soup from last night with maybe a grilled cheese sandwich. Wishing everyone a great day!!

Nothing is worse than an LMPE-LOUDMOUTH PLOT EXPLAINER! That includes people who sing at concerts, the theater or movies. I am paying to listen to the actors and not YOU! I said the same thing on your thread jeremysgirl. Now, if it was a sing-along that would be loads of fun, but the point of going would be to sing along w/everyone else. I tell people to be quiet at concerts or the theater/movies. I'm not shy about it. I paid good money and I'm not going to let you ruin my experience. That was my vent for the century. Carry on...

It turned out great and everyone had their *trademark* item. Mine was pralines and others had Mexican Wedding Cookies, toffee, etc. It was such a relief to EVERYONE especially the women because we were the ones having to do the gift buying!

Then we will fight over payment. Ugh. I use her because if I have to pay for a service, I'd rather pay a friend, not because I want a freebie. DH was a notary for years and would never let friends/family pay him. Be gracious and, if she doesn't want you to pay, don't argue. Thank her and at some point, take her to lunch.

would that work for you? I think it's a very diplomatic way to deal w/this. I already do the marathon baking for Christmas. So everyone knows they are getting cookies already. Although this year will be different. I won't be baking with my mom or sister this year. But I will still be baking on my own. I am contemplating asking my MIL if she'd like to come and help or at least keep me company.

I’m doing just fine, scrapmaven. Thanks for asking. Sorry your migraine is still hanging on, but I hope you have a great getaway with SIL. Dinner tonight will be the beef barley soup I didn’t make last night. Assuming the beef is still good. I’ll also be working on a pot of chicken stock featuring my Costco chicken carcass. Good rainy day activities.

Good rainy day activities. I love a good rainy day. I always seem to be more productive on a rainy day. My meetings are all done for today so I'm thinking of putting on cozy clothes. Today is the first snowfall here. I like baking cookies. I will still enjoy doing so. And really, the big man will be so appreciative, wandering around, tasting to make sure each batch is perfect. It's hard not to feel joy when your cookies make someone so happy.

today is packing to go home, a couples massage, doing more packing, going to a small concert and out for a bite of dinner. last night, we went to a place very near us.. a bar and they were having trivia night, so we stayed. we did ok on part one. totally failed on the movies (we hadn't seen most of them) and did ok on the music. that was fun. then came home and watched survivor and the summit. the summit is so fakey it is a guilty pleasure to me. I think we nailed down our major trips for the next two years.
now back to craziness til we get on the plane on monday night off to new zealand.

Happy Thursday! It's been a busy day. It always is after being out for a few days. We got our first snow overnight. Not much but, as usual, everyone has forgotten how to drive in it. It has started snowing again and I hear it is getting really slick out. Of course, I have a class to teach tonight. scrapmaven have a great time! Darcy Collins our dinner at Scarpetta's was fabulous. We were lucky and got a table that overlooked the fountains at Bellagio. I would go back! DH is on his own for dinner.

Today is Men’s Night for my dad and I am on my own unless it starts to rain. I may have ribs because there are two boxes in the garage. There is also lobster ravioli and I love them with a white sauce or no sauce.
My back hurts still and I talked to my GP’s Locum (he said she is off getting some sun and I thought good for her. She needs it).
I plan to walk Dexter later and maybe watch a movie.
I haven’t been sleeping well for about a week. There is nothing at all wrong. Everyone is totally fine. The kids are great. I think I am having them for dinner on Saturday. I have to do something with Dad’s girlfriend on Sunday night. I have a crazy week next week.

We saw our first snow flakes of the season today. Nothing stuck but just made everything wet! It’s very cold too - only 4 C.
Lots of Black Friday sales started here today. No need to go over to the States anymore to find the sales. I got some Christmas presents so I’m happy about that. I upgraded my phone. I’m on a plan that requires me to hand in my phone every two years. I did it early due to a Black Friday sale which gave me a good price now instead of waiting until February.
Supper will be take out pizza.
