In the thread about traveling with a carryon someone mentioned the Lovevook backpack and said they use it as their personal item because it fits under the seat. Weak willed that I am, I ordered one. In my defense, we are going on a big trip in May and I don't have anything else to use as that personal item.. Anyway, I love it! Not too big, but big enough for what I'll most likely be carrying. And honestly, if I want to carry more in there then I think I need to rethink what goes in my "personal item". lol Anyway, this bag has a charging cord inside, connected to a port (USB port probably?). I know other bags have this feature also. How do they work? This is probably a dumb question...but if the inside cord is plugged into my device then what is plugged into the USB port that's doing the actual charging? Any time I've traveled through an airport I've just used the outlets that are everywhere to charge my phone. So I must be missing something about these internal charging cords. Also, who else bought a Lovevook based on that thread? lol. Bunch of enablers here, that's for sure.

The internal charger is attached to small rechargeable battery, so you have to make sure that is charged before you go somewhere. The purpose is for use when you're in a place where there are no outlets or charging stations available.
I bought that same backpack when people were talking about it last year. I took the charging thing out - it's of no use to me. Love the backpack otherwise.

Then the battery will be charged enough to charge my phone (or whatever)... That makes more sense, lol. I was picturing me with a cord attached to the outside that was plugged into an outlet, then my phone plugged in inside. lol. Couldn't figure out why I wouldn't just plug my phone directly into the outlet. I don't think I'll use it either, although I guess you never know. I do have a portable charger/battery thing though that works fine. So we will see...

I have one of these backpacks and like it too. I just use my portable charger that has a built in cord. I don't use the plug on the bag.
I've been enjoying the balanced weight on my neck and shoulders from a backpack but it's a bit of a pain to get your phone, ID, boarding pass, credit card out. Easier to have some deep pockets on your pants or just also use a purse. Which looks a little wierd but is convenient.

I just got my Lovevook bag 2 days ago, and was also confused. Ds23 set me straight with a portable charger. Showed me just what to do, and all is good. I'm traveling with my bag now, and I love it!

it's a bit of a pain to get your phone, ID, boarding pass, credit card out. I used a passport wallet (crossbody) - it held my debit card, passport, phone, boarding pass and/or train pass, and a pen when I was in the UK. There was space to add cash or an ID also - I just didn't need either. www.amazon.com/dp/B07WZBVN25?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

What makes this backpack better than the largest Janpsport one with a bunch of pockets? To me they just look like regular backpacks.

I has loads of pockets, that suit me much better than the ones on my usual backpack. Is quite slim, so it won't take up every inch of under seat space. It is rather deep. Has water bottle holders inside and out. I am car travelling with it right now, but I will review again once I use it on a plane.

Not sure if it's "better" than any other backpack that someone might like... But for me, the only backpack that I have is much bigger and could be used as my carryon if I was doing carryon only. But for this trip we're going to check our bags (I haven't done that in ages, but dh wants to so... ). And I don't have an under-the-seat size backpack. I do have a tote bag type thing (which I also bought because of enabler Peas, haha) but for this trip I wanted a hands-free option.

It's one of those flat teardrop shaped ones, and it can hold everything that I need to have close at hand. I use it when touring around anywhere because it can be in front of my body with my hand on it. Much more secure than a backpack that's out of my sight line.

I have one of this brand and love it. I travel for work several times a year - it goes with me on every trip. I love it. It has held up really well. Holds a ton of stuff and slides under the seat in front of me.
