I need new luggage. Samsonite is not in the budget. I travel by air once a year-ish, although my goal is to do more. I also have a three day conference that I nees to pack for multiple times a year.
What do you have/recommend?

I have an AWAY carryon that I use mainly when I fly and a Lipault (Paris) soft-sided carryon that I mainly use for car trips. The Lipault suitcase is slightly smaller so it's better for long weekend type trips. Many years ago I decided I was really over lugging those over the shoulder weekend bags and like wheeling my small suitcase instead. I have several backpacks and tote bags from LUG that I use as my extra bag while traveling. I almost always use a backpack while flying as it's just easier to carry. Oh and I never ever buy anymore a bag that doesn't have a trolley sleeve to slip over the handle of my suitcase.

I have TravelPro and DH has Delsey--both carry-on size. Mine is 20ish yrs old and DHs' is older as he travelled for work. I'm thinking of ordering a Biaggi underseat bag-that-converts-to a-carry on , or maybe the carry-on that converts to check-bag size, (a person on our Portugal tour earlier this year had one and it looked promising. Does anyone here have a Biaggi bag--any pros/cons to share?

I use almost exclusively an AWAY larger carryon. It's good for me for up to a week of travel. That said I just invested in the medium for our trip to Paris/Spain in April. My son was the only family member who didn't have the carryon so I bought him one for Christmas this year (he's also going with us to Spain and lost all his luggage when he left his last relationship so needed something and it was on sale 25% off).

Mine are American touristor I bought them at like Marshall’s or tjmaxx. They are hard sided but light weight with functional all direction wheels. They have a bunch of unique patterns so if you ever check luggage, it’s easy to see what’s yours. Mine have big polka dots. I never use the checked bag size anymore but I use the carry on all the time and it holds a bunch

I purchased this set a couple of years ago because I needed a 3-piece set to replace my 2-piece. I absolutely love it, and the extra accessory pieces are very handy. It's durable and has gotten a lot of use since I bought it. ETA: the brand name is CoolLife, nothing fancy

Calpak. I got a small hard sided carry on suitcase from TJ Maxx a few years ago and it is holding up well.

I got a set of soft side from Marshall's several years ago. I doubt Marshall's even carries them now.

I'm a huge AWAY fan. My little white suitcase has been all over the world and all over multiple different types of ground/luggage holds, etc. I bought white so it was easy to see and it's been easy to keep clean with Mr. Clean magic eraser. I also have their large, soft weekender bag (for road trips) in navy. I pair the suitcase or weekender bag with either the everywhere bag (small) or the everywhere tote, both in navy. They are durable, simple, and easy to keep clean. Their stuff is 25% off until December 2. I've not seen a sale like that before.

I have a checked softside from London Fog (TJMax) and a hardside carryon that was my mum's and I'm sure was also TJMax. My personal item is from Amazon - www.amazon.com/dp/B0D2NLHZ6G?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title. I also have a travel backpack that folds up into a small pouch that I use as a daybag when I'm sightseeing and leaving luggage in the room.

One set is whatever Costco had at the time- that was a 2 piece set. And then one I bought on Amazon that had good ratings- that is a 3 pc set.

I really like the Beis luggage. I have the Medium Checkin roller, the small carryon roller, the mini weekender, the commuter tote and the sport carryall.

I have Tracker, it, Samsonite and American Tourist. Have used all for years and they work well. The it doesn't have the smoothest wheels but it's not awful. I like the Tracker one the most, and especially because it doesn't have a black liner.

HEYS. I got a 2pc from costco for about $129 CAD a few years ago. They are lightweight and hardsided. It's my 2nd favorite to Samsonite.

I've heard from several people that Travel Pro is supposed to hold up really well and that flight attendants/pilots use that brand. But there are different levels/qualities, etc. Whenever I've seen airline employees with their bag, it is a carry-on size, not a full size like I need. I need a new one. My current one (I think it is Samsonite) crapped out on me at the airport recently. One of the wheels would not spin when I walked with it but I can spin it fine when I just lay it on the side. I guess the weight of the contents has something to do with that. Real fun dragging a heavy bag about a half hour through the airport at midnight.
