I've slacked off a bit. Hoping to finish the year strong. I'm gonna do Caroling Girvans 24 days of Christmas workouts starting today. I'm also getting back into running.
I'm hoping to meal plan a bit to try and control my calories a bit.
I fly to see my bestie in January and I wouldn't hate to be down a couple of pounds

I've missed these threads!
I'm still slowly losing weight- I'm down to my lowest weight since probably my freshman year of high school.
I think I posted elsewhere that when I went back to work after Hurricane Helene 3 different coworkers said I'd lost weight, and none of them believed I weighed 180 pounds. I still feel like i have a ways to go, but I am closer to normal weight than I am to being obese, so yay! 🎉
I definitely think I'll need to deal with excess skin, but that is a problem for another day.
I've been sick for over a week and a half, and it's been super cold, so I haven't been doing much movement lately. As always, I need to work on that.
I have a virtual job fair on Thursday, so I need to buy a new suit jacket, as all of mine are way too big. I am excited that I won't have to worry about antifat bias negatively impacting me during the fair.

I am slowly losing weight but my diet is sucking lately. It hit me this week of how many calories I am consuming in drinks vs. real food. I quit drinking Red Bull bull apparently replaced it with cokes, wine, and doctored up coffee drinks. So this month I am going to try and replace my sugar drinks with water + tea.

The last 1.5 months have not been good on my end as far as eating well. I have decided to plan out lunches (the meal I struggle with) and get back at meal prepping my produce.
Since the weather is no longer Satan's armpit, I have been walking a lot more. We have a park with walking trails across the street and it is nice to walk. Quiet and pretty foliage.

Coffee has been my go to especially caffeinated and that isn't good for my POTS. I am going to cut out my bottled fraps and just go back to water and an iced or hot tea 1x a day.

I need to just get back on not eating carbs like sugar. I will do better. Dexter is going to need a walk

Congrats to everyone for prioritizing your health! Moving your body is so important. Get those steps in where you can. One big thing I started to do is put on a weighted vest when I'm on the treadmill. It's a nice way to add in strength training, which is so important once you reach perimenopause and menopause. I'm also enjoying kettlebell exercising. After spending a month of only losing .5lbs, the scale has finally started to drop again. I'm down 20lbs now. I still have another 15 to go.

Congratulations to all on your losses!
I'm still struggling hard to even maintain. I'm going to recommit to making better food choices and keeping up on the Caroline Girvan workouts. I do love the shorter Christmas videos as it gives me time to add in extra abs, walk the dogs or get a little run on the treadmill. I used to run a lot but have gotten away from it so I'm trying to run a mile a day again. The food though.. I eat healthy foods but then I crash into a bag of chips when I get home from work. Make it stop!!

I met with a trainer on Saturday. I am going to start working out once a week with her and she will give me workouts for 2 additional days. I am going to try and throw in one cardio day as well. My eating has been off the rails. I am going to start tracking again.

I'm going to try and be mindful of the holiday treats - I'm not vowing to cut them out because...reality...but moderation. I need to cut back on the diet soda - the fact I need to tighten the grocery belt a bit should help - they are an easy item to cut. Subbing coffee and hot tea in the morning and water the rest of the day. NOT trying to cut the caffiene atm. One step at a time. I walked 3.5 miles yesterday just around the neighbourhood. It's a shame that the nice weather comes with early sunsets

I’m in Week 12 of Gina Livy - the last week of her 91 day program, and then it starts up again in January.
Ive been diligent at listening to her lives and guest speakers via the podcast, and have really been making an effort to get my water in and get in my head with the mindfulness questions when I’m eating.
At this point I’m down 17 pounds and pretty happy with where I am. I have plans for the next month on how to deal with all the holiday stuff. I polled my kids - of all the treats I can deal with one in the house, so what is their pick. They voted Christmas crack so that will be the fancy treat lol. I will plan to indulge, and enjoy my indulges, and know that having a few treats will not undo the work I’ve just done.
looking forward to starting again in January and keeping the momentum going!

I am on wegovy since mid-June and I am down about 30 lbs, but still not in onederland yet... however, I have a HUGE NSV- my knees do not hurt anymore! There are studies that joint point lessens when you are on a GLP-1, but they dont know if its the medicine, the weight loss, or in my case, I also started taking fish oil, which my husband claims has always helped him. Ladies, this almost means more to me than the weight loss. I fell a year ago in November, and have had tremendous knee pain, going to PT, getting a cordizone shot, and STILL barely able to walk up the street. Then I had a calf tear/pull and was in a boot. My mental health was absolute trash. I was so upset that i am 48 and barely able to walk. I was terrified to kneel on my knees (I am still reluctant to do that). But I honestly have no pain anymore, it is totally wild.
Now my blood pressure is up. THe dr told me to go on the DASH diet, and I feel like I do this diet anyways, but now I need to really start tracking and get serious. THis could also be bc I am still on oral birth control, but my husband just got a vascetomy, so if I need to go off it, I guess I can... and then start to deal with (more) menopause symptoms too! LOL. I have a cuff here at home and take my BP 2x a day - i always seem to be in stage 2 sometimes stage 1. I thought GLP-1s helped with heart issues, so I am a little dismayed this just does not seem to be going down (I've been tracking for a month). It always seems like when I have a victory in one area, I get another setback...

pinklady -thank you. I figured that anything is going to over or under count but assume (and I could be wrong) that the inaccuracy will be fairly consistent so will still work to show whether I'm walking more or less - ie if it's 10% off and telling me I walked 1000 steps then it'll still be 10% off when it tells me I'm walking 10000 steps...but I'll still be able to track that I'm walking approx. 10x more. And really that's mostly what I'm looking for - something that can tell me if I'm making progress and where I can set a goal to meet. If I actually only walk 900 steps vs 1000tracked? not such a big deal if that a fairly consistent error. It's not fancy and while there is an app on my phone, it's only to review the watch data, not hooked to phone calls or texts. That part sounds perfect - I have no need or desire to receive communication via my tracker beyond the tracker info.

It's been a couple of rough months. I've gone off the rails on watching what I eat. With winter here, my step count has drastically decreased. Add to all of it the increase in workload. I am not happy with myself. I can tell, mentally, it has really affected me.

I worked out with my new trainer for the first time last Wednesday. I was so sore for 3 days. I could barely walk Thursday and Friday. It was terrible!

Yeah, drinks are a killer! I try to only drink water and milk-less tea so I'm not wasting calories on drinks. I would much rather eat calories than drink them. My exception is coffee - I like to drink skinny cappuccinos - I used to drink four a day, but I have cut down to 1-2 per day. I was going to try and change to long blacks (which I think is the equivalent to your Americano) but then I was worried that I wouldn't be getting enough calcium. I only use 125ml, which is about half a cup, of low fat milk in my cappuccino, so one of two per day is okay. Now, if only I could get over my love of fried food, creamy food, and chocolate.....
