www.newsweek.com/viral-video-small-girl-trashing-walmart-sparks-anger-1994627I don't see any threads about this. I would love to hear what you all think. From other articles I have read this went on for at least 45 minutes and at the end a man just picked up the child and walked out with her. I think that is the most WTF of it for me. In all likelihood it was her parent/guardian, but what if it wasn't? I don't agree with the people being physical with the girl as she wasn't trying to harm herself or anyone else, but I do wonder where her adults were. I also wonder why when it kept dragging on no one called the police. I am sure you all have opinions, I would love to hear them. What would you have done if you were there?

As a teacher we see this in classrooms often. This situation was made worse by all the on lookers and interference.
I know it is hard, but honestly, in that situation it would have been helpful for others to steer clear.
In a school setting a staff member trained in proper holds would have placed the child in a hold until calm.
It saddens me that she was taped and posted online.

Yeah, something is very wrong in that child’s life. I hope someone can step in and help.

Yeah, something is very wrong in that child’s life. I hope someone can step in and help. That’s for sure my question is one many have where were her parents? Yes we don’t know what she has been through but it’s still not alright to just go through the store pulling things off the shelves and stomping on them. I expected her to be screaming or yelling not just pulling things off the shelves. I hope she gets the helps she so obviously needs.

Wow! I don’t know what to think. Everyone didn’t know what to do, and I would have not stepped in either. But when she started throwing glass bottles around I think that needs to be stopped. I hope she is ok!

I agree that it is sad it has been posted online. I am just stunned that after 30 minutes no one called anyone. It must have been apparent there was no adult with her and she looks young. She doesn't say anything in the video, I wonder if she is neurodivergent or God forbid there is something more sinister going on. I mean, where was her family? Were they in the store with her? Did she come in unattended? Is anyone making sure she is ok? I hope someone is checking Walmart tapes. I am pretty confident they must have recordings of the doors.

I can't believe that store security or police weren't called. There's clearly something wrong in that little girl's life, but she shouldn't be allowed to trash the store, especially when she started throwing bottles. Those women should have kept their hands off her.

I have a lot of questions, like others have said. Who was she there with? Why didn't the employee who was standing there when it started (and seemingly the whole time) not call security? What set her off? Who was the guy who carried her off?

Honestly, I would have called the cops and let them deal with her since obviously no one from the store’s management was stepping in. They would be able to take her to a secure area of the store and locate a parent or guardian. It’s pretty crappy that no one from the store management came out to address it. That’s not something the other customers should have felt like they needed to handle.

To let it go on like that without calling authroities, makes me wonder if if is a fake video. I see short videos on FB Reals that are of outrageous behavior that I believe are thrying to get clicks based on their shock level.

The guy at the end was apparently from her family and he left quickly because everyone was watching. My thought is where were you, FAMILY, for 45 minutes?? It doesn't take that long to find a missing child at Walmart. It is not like a lost child at Disneyland. And why didn't the family notified Walmart that their child was missing? So many questions!

Regardless of her special needs, the adult with her should have been watching her more closely so the could have taken control of that situation right away. I’m sure this wasn’t the first time with her acting like this & they’ve most likely dealt with her actions before.

If she had been supervised properly, she may have been stopped after the first few things were damaged. Is this routine at home?

This is what I was thinking, a child having some sort of meltdown, which may or may not have had a medical component, with no obvious guardian in the area sounds like an emergency situation to me.

While that would be an awful situation to put a child in, I almost wish that is the case over the idea of her heaving a real breakdown surrounded by no one but arguing adult strangers, some of whom keep getting in her space, trying to restrain her, etc.

How shocking that the takeaway on Twitter is that her behaviour is due to liberalism. 🙄
