I watched it last week, it hit me right between the eyes.
The consumerism we have blindly fallen into is absurd. Without realizing it we have lead to buy more and more, that we donât need, but advertising has taught us must buy whatever they throw at us. I was thumbing through Amazon and thinking at different kitchen gadgets and thinking I use that. Then I stopped I thought, yes it a convenience, but really how often I use it.
The one thing that really gripes me, is that last year we told by the fashion industry that skinny jeans âwere outâ. I loved skinny jeans. The fit me well and fitted leg made me look a little taller than the wide leg jeans, that are âmust havesâ we have to have now, and I fell for it. i went out bought that I feel are less becoming on my body.
Now I think twice about whether or not I really need something or just want it for the thrill of the purchase.

How many times on this board do we read â I didnât know I needed this but I bought itâ
If you didnât need it before chances are you donât NEED it, someone else dangled a shiny object in front of you and you had FOMO.
A few exceptions will always apply.

jeremysgirl google mayonaise to remove white marks. Itâs worked for me every single time! Thank you! If mayo doesn't work (it didn't for me), google about using an iron on a low setting. Just make sure to use a low temp and move it around a lot - you don't want to melt the top coat!

I have 8 sets of china. Count 'em. So, does my sister. We had our own wedding china and then inherited other stuff. It's stored in boxes and I haven't used it and never will. If you like your Fiestaware collection then don't feel guilt about buying the new colors. This is like a hobby for you. You use it. My china issue is based upon having too much sentimental value. I have one of your shawls jeremysgirl and no way would I ever consider that too much consumption. My mil wore it to keep her warm when she was staying w/me and loved it and I wear it to keep warm when I'm not feeling well. I see it as a hug from a very thoughtful friend. Your crafting makes other people happy. I do shop at Amazon, because I don't like to use my limited energy to shop. However, I prefer to do business w/mom and pop stores that have great customer service. My biggest way-too-much are the closet shelves that are filled with purses. I don't go out that much, but I love my purses. I change purses w/my outfits. I've always had the motto that "your purse always fits no matter how much you ate last night". I'm very guilty of consumerism in that regard. When we donate money at the supermarket for local food banks or donate clothing to thrift stores does that ease our guilt? Are we obligated to help, is it the right thing to do or is it our way of making ourselves feel better for spending so much money when others have less than? I'm going to watch the documentary.

A few exceptions will always apply. Itâs possible though to need something without knowing it exists. Thatâs why new things get invented every day. I was scrolling through the Bambu Lab maker world site for 3D printers and saw this tape dispenser thing that holds multiple rolls of tape and slides out so you can cut a bunch of pieces of same sized tape at once, and thought, âI *NEED* that thing!â Not only would it be useful for wrapping multiple gifts but it would be really helpful when taping up digital patterns for sewing or taping together oversized prints for sublimation when you need a bunch of pieces of tape but itâs too awkward to pull them off the dispenser one by one. I didnât know it existed until I saw it, but once I did see it I immediately recognized its usefulness.

Yes, that would be an exception.
But we see too often â my mixer/ or blah, blah blah is perfectly fine but hey they now have a plaid one, for instance.
So many people on here trying to declutter and still buying things they donât need.
