Almost anyone who crafts or creates has at least one UFO (unfinished object/project) hidden away. Some of us are going to name those UFOs and do our best to finish them by the end of 2025! This will be low key, no pressure, no rush, no prizes. Just the satisfaction of getting those projects done and out of the pile in the back of the closet!
Here are the basics:
1. Choose 4 UFOs from your stash (any craft at any stage of completion). Keeping the list to four helps keeps the pressure low. List those here, along with photos if you like.
2. Commit to finishing one per quarter.
3. Share your progress with us, encourage the others and celebrate all the finishes!
This will be the only thread for this in 2025 and is separate from the monthly craft thread. The purpose of this is to set our challenges and work towards completing them. A separate UFO thread will keep them from getting lost. So let's see all the knitting, crocheting, quilting, sewing, basketweaving projects, scrapbooks, journals and any other crafts that are waiting to be finished! Hope to see lots of you joining in the fun!

my winter project is to bind the wool quilt my namesake grandmother made... sometime. maybe the 40's? don't really know. she died in 1953 and I never met her. so I have an old UFO....
and my other project this winter is to get dh to help me create a digital picture book of my dad's slides (already digitized) of the construction of a group ski cabin. the cabin was built from 1948 to 1952... and expanded later 1950's, 1970's, and fire escape add in 1990's.
if I have these done by spring, my next ufo is making a family album. ancestors album for my cousin who knows very little about our common family

I have two quilt tops that have been ready to turn into a picnic blanket and a tablecloth for quite some time. They make the list.
I have Christmas themed wall hanging that needs embellishments and finishing. There is no pattern, it's freehand, just build up the scene as I want. It's a village scene, has a curvy path though the village to a church at the top. Lots of cottages that need wreaths on doors, snow added, people etc.
I have a crochet pattern that is maybe 35% done, I will have to pull it out and decide if I still want to complete it or cut my losses and make cushion covers with what I have done so far.

Ok I like the idea of picking out four projects to be done quarterly. Let me see if I can pull pics. This green yarn I have been working on a shawl. It is a half circle shawl. It's about 1/3 done. It will be my first quarter project. Actually I'm hoping to get to it this week. My second quarter project (I'm hoping done by our may camping trip) is my camper quilt. These are the blocks. I've started the sashing and quit because I was not happy with shit not lining up. 🙄 It will also need some more lengthening so it ends up queen sized. The quilted (by a professional) and binding added. This other quilt will be my 3rd quarter project. I have all the 6x6 blocks made but I don't think it's big enough. So I'm working out how to do the sashing I think it needs. I plan on giving this one to Dad for Christmas. My favorite aunt posted a pic of a granny square duster cardigan on my wall several years ago. It was all sorts of wild colors. She just loved it. I bought this rainbow yarn and started making one for her. This will be my 4th quarter project. I'd like to give it to her for Christmas. I have more projects planned but this is what I've got as far as WIPs I'd like to finish.

I can commit to finish 2 wreaths I started and did not complete. One is for Valentine’s Day and one for St. Patty’s Day.

I’m in!
1. A simple shawl that hasn’t been touched for a few years.
2. A complicated shawl that will likely require the assistance of the yarn shop.
3. Repeat of #2.
Honestly, I may have pulled the yarn and intended to start over on #2. They were projects the yarn shop had meet ups for a few weeks in a row.
At least they will be easily found.

I have 7 quilt tops waiting for backing, quilting, and binding. I will commit to finishing 4 of them with simple straight line quilting to get them done. Maybe it'll inspire me to finish all of them.

I'm in! Project 1 is a scarf I started in 2020. Yup, a Covid times project that I look at now and realize I was only a few rows from finishing. I know it stalled because I need to figure out what row in the repeat pattern I stopped at. And I now can't find the pattern. Hoping this gets done before a trip north at the end of January. Project 2 is a cotton knit tank top that needs to be taken completely apart and sized down. I like the colors and the pattern so hopefully will get it done to wear this summer. Project 3 is a Santa pillow cover. This one was put aside in Dec 2021 when I had an eye issue and got buried. I want to make a couple more for my sisters so will add it to the 3 quarter. Project 4 is a cross stitch project. It is rainbow skylines of the three cities where we have lived. I just need to finish Vancouver and add in the names in black under all three (Vancouver, Seattle, San Diego).

I would like to try this. Maybe it would keep me motivated to finally finish a few things I have going! I will need help on how to post the pictures though. If someone has the patience to walk me through it.
Number 1. I had started crocheting a grocery sack about two years ago. It was a new pattern and I didn’t like it so it sat. Last week I bought more yarn and decided to rip out the current one and crochet more sacks using the pattern I like.
Number2. A cross stitch picture I’ve been working on for at least the last four years.
Number3. A sweater I’ve been knitting for at least two years.
Number4. Cosmetic bags that I cut the material to make last spring. I made ten of them but didn’t finish the rest.
There are more projects but these are the ones I’d like to finish for sure.

Great Idea! I'm notorious at joining these type of challenges and then forget to follow up. I'll give this one a-go! I am in the process of re-arranging, sorting and combining my craft rooms into one room. Of course, this process has unearthed long lost projects. I'll list them now and come back and post pics when I can.
Priority- Finish binging two BOM quilts ( Block of Month) Sampler and Sisterhood
1- quilt the 4 throws that are sandwiched and ready to be quilted, Quilt and bind these. (I'm tired of moving this stack around)
2- Finish Mini Album for my grandson- Pictures thru the years of GS and son.
3- Sew 4 inch log cabin quilt blocks together into a wall hanging or large pillow. I made the blocks in 2019.
4- make covers for my 2 sewing machines and Momento to keep the dust off of them when not in use. rather than the tea towels I currently use :-)
The list goes on and on! Keep me accountable.

I have a collection of diamond art I stashed under the bed, then somehow more of it collected in the corners of the bedroom. When the company I buy from almost exclusively put out this year's black friday collection it dawned on me that I hadn't even opened last year's black friday collection. So, I have resolved to go on a no buy until I complete at least 4 kits, if not more (I have 3 in progress) so that's number one. number 2, I have a collection of half finished shirts in my sewing area. I took a sew day before Christmas to wrap up projects I wanted to give as gifts and cut out the pieces missing from my pile of shirts, intending to sit and finish them assembly line style. The gifts got done, the shirts did not. that's number 2. Number 3 is assemble and finish the interwoven quilt I started with the scraps from one of my christmas gifts. I had a ton of flannel from a second hand shop, which I made a quilt for DH from. With the scraps from that I started a small interwoven.
If I can get through those 3 projects I'm sure I can dig up another one from the seemingly endless stash here. My biggest goal for the year is to go on a no buy of any kind of craft project. I have what I need to do what I want.
and I just thought of number 4- a coat which I have fabric for, but the pattern is a very structured modern pattern for a vintage coat - Gertie, charm patterns princess coat for those of you who sew- I've made gertie patterns before and they are not for the feint of heart, but the end product can be beautiful. I found this wool I fell in love with and bought it when I was offered a job back in October. it's been sitting there mocking me ever since.

I will need help on how to post the pictures though. If someone has the patience to walk me through it. I use postimages to load photos when I'm on my Macbook. You set up a free account and choose an image (copy & paste or drag & drop it over) from your computer to upload. I haven't played around with resizing options. Once the image is downloaded you have a number of sharing options in postimages. I copy the Direct Link there and open the Insert Image option on the Reply toolbar here. Paste the Direct Link into the Image URL bar and hit the Insert Image button.

I currently have 2 UFOs 1) Around the World Crochet Afghan. I keep putting this off because I bought the yarn a LONG time ago and I'm afraid I won't have enough to finish it and it's hard finding yarn to match (most of the colors are Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn and the colors were discontinue). But it is a very old UFO and I really would love to finish it. Plus, it has over 1,200 teeny tiny squares. 2) Flower Power Afghan. I started this just because I liked the pattern but then I got sidetracked with other projects. It should be pretty easy to finish up, once I get started back on it. I'm currently working on a lapghan for friend so when I finish that, I will take a look at my UFOs

- Copy the BB-Code
- Then come to 2Peas and paste it on your post
I hope that helps.

I like this to keep me accountable. 1. Finish scrapbook 1 of 2 from Disney 2019. I only have 6 layouts left to go. 2. Mat, frame, and display finished paintings & diamond art. 3. Get the rest of my grandmother’s photos transferred from her self adhesive album into the new scrapbook. 4. Complete my colored pencil drawing of Stratford-upon-Avon that I started in 2019.

Project 1: finish the last details of my island. I designed an island for my kitchen and dh built it using a piece we already had and adding to it. I stained planks for the top and painted it all and added new hardware but there a a couple Spots that need touch up paint and another corbel added and painted.
Project 2: finish 2024 December Daily. I have a start on it but just wasn’t able to work on it much this December. I’d like this to be quarter 1 or 2 while the holiday is more fresh in my mind
Project 3: finish week in the life 2023. I have a lot of this done but we moved a couple weeks after the week documented and it just wasn’t a good time to work on it and then life… it’s also a beast with so much in it. But I really want to finish.
Project 4: finish December Daily 2023 - this is very close. Maybe only 4-5 pages left?

I would love to do this! Can it be organizing my scrap room? Or even one thing in particular like scraps or stamps and dies?
I can probably think of other things as well. I just know that I need some major motivation and accountability.

And for double the fun, join us over on the 2025 Decluttering & Organizing thread that will start tomorrow! You will get extra motivation!

I have several projects that I haven’t started yet but bought supplies. I’m hoping to work on these. I had been thinking about a couple but hadn’t started them yet. I looked through my patterns and found the pattern I was looking for for a scarf yesterday quite easily. I’m taking it as a sign that I need to start it. I still need to pull out the black baby alpaca yarn. I think I bought the yarn more than ten years ago. I’m hoping I can see the stitches as I really want to make this scarf. I also have some other black yarn for some black wrist warmers. I’m sure I will be cursing both projects with black yarn. I also want to catch up on some SU kits both paper pumpkin and others. I am planning to work on organizing this year as well. I’m sure I will come up with a lot more projects.
