Hi everyone! Posting early because I am, of course, meeting my mum at Denny's for breakfast! Then I need to get gas and a few groceries ... The rest of the freezing cold day is wide open ... a nap will definitely happen! This is what I posted on FB today ... I must have the option of poking my foot out of the covers! Anyone the same? My dd's helped me take down Christmas last night! My house is back to normal! Anyone taking down Christmas today? Dinner will be rechauffee pizza! What are your plans today? What is on your menu? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

Happy Sunday!
I have a whole lot of nothing going on today and I'm happy about it. I have to go out and pick up dog food and my grocery order in a bit. it's 65 now and supposed to drop to 18 by the end of the day so winter has finally hit Texas. I'm wearing my winter clothes that I bought for DC a few months back. It's been too warm here so far to wear them. I'm on the tail end of my bronchitis so I'm glad to be feeling better.
I'm not sure what dinner will be tonight. I thought about a potato kielbasa soup, but the Seahawks are playing at 3:30 and then the Golden Globes are on after that so I may just order in pizza. I'll decide when it gets closer.
Hope you all have a great day!

Happy Sunday! Going up to visit DH this morning so I can get home a bit earlier than normal. It is currently 72 and will be 33 when I wake up in the morning. Temps are supposed to start dropping quickly about 5 pm. Fortunately I remember to run out yesterday to pick up my dry cleaning, because all my winter pants were in the order!
Dinner will be soup tonight and then working on one of my UFO projects.

Good morning! I just saw that our temps are holding steady with high's in the 50s and lows in the low 40s/upper 30s. DH and I will walk soon ~ I'm glad the sun is shining. Dinner is whatever I decide when I go to Raley's. I started a thread about a meal service called Gobble. Our neighbor is getting his first delivery today so I'm eager to hear all about it. If I ever started with one, I would want it to be prepared meals, not something I have to prepare. I can do that myself. Continuing to take down Christmas.

Good morning. leannec , that's a really cute meme. I am the opposite. My feet are always cold. Plus, I have a big cat that sleeps next to them. If I move my feet too much they get pounced upon by a rascally kitty. **GypsyGirl** , how is your vertigo? I hope that you're feeling better. Tearisci , enjoy your game and the Golden Globes. We'll be watching football and tonight we'll watch another episode of Squid Games.
cadoodlebug, wear your fuzzy, warm socks and keep your feet warm during your walk. I'm interested to see what others say about Gobble.
linda, sounds like a perfect soup night w/your temps. Enjoy Sunday. I took down Christmas yesterday. Today I want to focus on knitting and I have to practice for voice on Tuesday. I'm not sure what to make for dinner. I'm considering chicken piccata and wild rice w/veggie. Let's see what dh wants. Happy, relaxing, easy day, tribe! AussieMeg wishing you an easy work day and a truly happy week.

Another soup meal in this house, I have my chicken vegetable soup in the crock pot..This is a tried and true recipe I have been making since it appeared in Cooking Light back in October of 2016...so yummy!
My walk yesterday was quite brisk as it was 20 degrees F...Today it is a toasty 25, so I am headed out in a few.
A nap is in my plans as I am working tonight...exciting life I lead!!!!

I just finished putting away all the Christmas. I didn't get it all done on New Year's Day. It feels good to have it back to normal.
Just starting to see snow flurries. The storm has moved a bit south of us. We are still expecting 3-7 inches.
I've got laundry going and nothing else planned for the day.
Dinner will be pork chops in some shape or form.
Have a great day, everyone!

I can’t wait till you post that your husband is home. It’s been such a long haul for you leannec I always need to have at least 1 foot out of my covers. Dinner is a beef soup that’s currently in the crockpot. There’s potatoes and onions and carrots and beans and corn and of course beef. Today will be a relaxing day of watching the Buffalo Bills because the game doesn’t matter although we collectively hate the New England Patriots. My mom flies out a week from yesterday to Florida so I’ll be helping her this week. Get the car packed or the car transport company to come pick it up on Friday.

cadoodlebug. I tried the factor ones and they come fresh and you just put them in your microwave. There is one that you can put in your oven. I can’t remember which company it is. However, the sodium level on them are sky high and I didn’t look before I ordered so I canceled it.

I found this info and posted it on the GOBBLE thread. HTH.
karenlou , did you work midnights throughout most of your career? My sil worked midnights for decades (she was not in a medical field) and it was her preferred shift. She did 3/36.
christine58 , you must be looking fwd to Florida and seeing your family and the sun. I hope you have a really good winter.

Another bitter cold day here. It’s -6, feels like -18.
We are going out for supper tonight and using one of our gift cards that we got for Christmas. I love eating out on someone else’s dime.
Thinking of those going back to work tomorrow after being off for the holidays. Gotta love retirement!

I’m about 3/4 of the way done taking down and packing away Christmas. I bought a lot of new stuff last year so there’s more type away.
Chili for dinner here tonight. DS is cooking. There are Fritos, shredded cheddar cheese, diced red onions and sour cream to go on top!
I am looking forward to getting back on a schedule starting tomorrow. I even did some lunch prep (boiled eggs) this morning after grocery shopping.

It’s foggy and dark outside. Everyone is good. I assume there will be tons of exciting football on tv and a play by play for me.
I had terrible hypomania on Friday night. I didn’t sleep and it wasn’t good. That hasn’t happened in years.

Hi everyone. Last night we had potato onion soup. Dh and I will enjoy the left overs for lunch.
Tonight is apricot braised chicken with rice, cauliflower rice, sauteed green beans, and fruit. I will also be having a salad of mixed greens with cauliflower, broccoli, kidney beans, and some cheese for protein and potassium. It dipped again when I got sick.
I bought some new meal prep containers by Rubbermaid to have a salad in the fridge type system. (I am low spend but felt this was needed) So far so good. I have lots of produce prepped and some in different ways to make lunch and snacks easier for me. I wasn't doing so hot and eating crap food and my body was mad at me. With the produce I can have a salad, a wrap, or saute some and have with pasta, rice, or rice noodles.
Have a few errands to run and then will be enjoying football. Last day dh is off. He goes back tomorrow 😞 He took off 2 of the 3 weeks but nice thing is he took all 2 weeks off for Spring break. It's nice that he can make his own calendar.

cadoodlebug, wear your fuzzy, warm socks and keep your feet warm during your walk. I'm interested to see what others say about Gobble. I had on two layers plus a jacket, gloves and a hat and ended up taking the gloves off. The sun shining on us really made a difference. We were walking around the lake where our sport's club backs to it. Steam was coming off the pool and several people were doing laps. I'm hoping to go to AquaFit in the morning.

Another bitter cold day here. It’s -6, feels like -18. Same! Except it's -15 C here! Feels like I need to live somewhere else! But I never would ... a Chinook is expected this week!

scrapmaven, Actually no I did not, I did mostly days with 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts at some point in my career. It wasn't till I retired and the management changed that I have NO tolerance for the "daytime" DRAMA. I still enjoy days now and then provided I can be assigned with my preferred surgeons🤣🤣🤣

I think my house may be back to normal. I have the front room bed made and the table in the living room recovered and set back up. 2 bags at the door for Goodwill and 1 bag for the trash. We had leftover bean soup for lunch.
The thunderstorm line has come through and I am just waiting for the temps to start dropping, we are still sitting at 65. When I head out to the office, it should be 26, with a real feel of 11.
I was going to meal prep but there's not that much needed to do. For dinner tonight we will be having Tikka masala. Mine will be with tofu and DH will have chicken. With roasted broccoli and homemade naan. I think I'm most excited for that bread!
I'm now going to recline and read some.

We usually go for dim sum on New Year's Day, but schedules didn't align this year until this morning. And shock of shocks, for the first time EVER, we were seated immediately! I think most of the usual Sunday crowd was there last Thursday. It was busy, but we are so used to a minimum 30 minute wait (and this is one of only 2 restaurants I will happily wait for every time). DH dropped us at the door to put our name on the list and parked about 1/2 mile away to get in a little walk before eating. Before settling in for football and knitting, DH and I have some SSA/Medicare paperwork to finish. I'm not feeling the need to eat anymore today, but pulled chicken legs & thighs from the freezer that are finally defrosted so have to be cooked. They will be roasted with Greek seasoning. Not sure on the sides. I'm still full of these:

Good morning We have had a drastic weather change overnight here - yesterday was stinking hot, 39C, and today it is currently 19C at nearly 9am, but not expected to get any warmer! We are waiting for our last load of laundry before we leave to finish and for Sophia to be dropped here by her mum, then we’re heading into the museum for the day. There is a special exhibition about ants on (think Bugs Life meets Honey I Shrunk the Kids) and we’ll also need to check out the dinosaurs, the rainforest and the Workd of Miniatures as usual. Dinner last night was take out Indian - we had 3 different starters, then 3 vegetarian curries and it was so good. Nice and spicy, but not too hot.

I forgot to weigh my Hush blanket for you the other day Delta Dawn! I just did it and it is 15 lbs ... doesn't feel that heavy to me because it is knitted ... What weight are you looking for? Aren't weighted blankets the best?

I just returned from returning a shirt I bought DH for Christmas. Under Amour has great sales before Christmas so I bought him a lot of stuff. One of the golf shirts I bought in 2 sizes to make sure it fits so I returned one of them. I got an email from Eddie Bauer that I had a $20 points credit that expires tomorrow so I hit that store too and bought a lightweight backpack to take on our trips. It was 50% off so my credit basically covered the cost. I got some salmon for dinner which I'll serve with zucchini and a fruit salad. Haven't touched Christmas.

We are having Instant-Pot Coq-au-vin for dinner. Nice and cozy, as it was 16 F when I got up this morning and is now hovering right around 32. Freezing rain/snow mix is on the way. I plan to sit in front of the fireplace reading a book (possibly with a cat on my lap), and dreading work tomorrow. At least I work from home so I don't have to go out in it...but I DO have to get up LOL.
Laundry, errands & grocery run are all done and we (ok, DH) rearranged things in the garage so both our cars are inside. Have located the snow shovel, icy melt and snow scrapers, and have crockpot or instant-pot recipes planned for the rest of the week. Chili will be prepped on Thursday for Friday crockpot cooking when we are hosting SIL & BIL (a UT (Texas) fan!) for the OSU/Texas college football playoff game. (Go Bucks!) Should be fun!
ETA: I was planning to take Christmas decor down today but didn't sleep well, woke up with a headache and decided to chuck it until Thursday when I'll have time to take it down.
ETA2: I always sleep with both feet out from under the covers - they just get too hot otherwise!

bc2ca that food looks delicious! And it ‘helps’ that it’s nearly midday on Monday here, and I am getting hungry for lunch. Maybe I’ll try to find an Asian takeaway nearby - I’m working in town today. My son and his girlfriend are house sitting DD’s house while she’s in the Philippines. I invited them over for a home cooked meal on Sunday night. (Goodness knows what they've been eating this last week!) I was planning to make a noodle dish from my new cookbook, but I couldn’t find the particular noodles I needed, either in the supermarket, or surprisingly in the Asian grocery. So instead I make chicken parmigiana. I also made a Cinnamon Tea Cake from my new cookbook. It was delicious. DSO’s exact words were “This is so f***ing good!” 😆
