Good Morning.
Wishing our sueg, easy travels and a hot shower upon her return home.
Today I'm going to do a little bit of housework, knitting and then I have my voice lesson in the afternoon.
What's everyone up to today?
Dinner is chicken tortilla soup. I made it yesterday, so it would be at it's best tonight. Ods is coming home and it was his request.
What's on your menu?
May today bring healing for those and their loved ones in need and may it bring happiness to all!

Good morning! Wishing sueg a great flight and a hot shower, too! jeremysgirl , looking forward to news about your new job. I've got a Costco run and a return at the mall this morning. In my old town the mall was 10 minutes away, here it's in 2 towns about 35 minutes away. I don't go very often for that reason. Dinner might be Horseradish Meatloaf.

cadoodlebug, I love not going to Costco. Are you making a return or a deposit at the mall?

Good Morning! I am currently on a conference call that does not pertain to me but I must be present for it. So, I am peaing... To answer your question from yesterday austnscrapaddict, I am 60 miles North of Indianapolis. It flurried but that was it. My brother is about 45 miles from me and he got 11 inches of snow. I don't mind it if I can stay home and enjoy looking at it from inside the house but it gets gross so quickly. Hope your family is staying warm! I am enjoying my evenings slowly working on my DD album and finishing up my PL album. I MUST order photos today before a sale ends. Hope everyone has a lovely day!

Happy Tuesday to all! I finished getting Christmas put away and cleaned my house. I am going to relax and read. We are having Philly Cheesesteak Hoagies for dinner with a side salad.

Happy Tuesday!
I found out some discouraging news this morning. My company switched insurance plans and a surgery I had coming up is not covered. I was able to get the cash pricing and I'm moving forward with it but it's going to be a hit. On top of that, my dog needs xrays and that's about $600 so I'm really feeling discouraged with big financial expenditures going into the new year.
I don't know what dinner will be tonight, but there will be wine!

Happy Chilly Tuesday dinner friends! @caddodlebug love the meme! I've looked at things in plain sight so often! Enjoy your errands. scrapmaven have a relaxing day. sueg safe travels, I hope you have a warm shower and apartment waiting for your return! Goodbyes are always so hard! jeremysgirl I'm also anxiously awaiting a job update! I hope it's off to a wonderful start! I'm about to head to the dermatologist, then home for a 12:30 conference call. Just a routine Tuesday, I'm so glad to get back into my routine. DH is busy with Real Estate things, so dinner might be more leftovers or I might make something quick. Time and the day will tell. Wishing everyone a wonderful day!

I hate that stigma that surrounds it and the pushback to help people get healthy if that is the answer! I had it for free in Canada and absolutely no regrets! Do you have any other (safe) options?

cadoodlebug, I love not going to Costco. Are you making a return or a deposit at the mall? I go to Costco at least once a week. There are plans to build one at the freeway interchange near us. I will be literally less than 5 minutes away! I rarely go in the afternoons or weekends so I'm usually in and out very quickly. I'm returning 2 things at the mall but will *browse* while there. The only decent stores at the one I'm going to are Macy's and Penneys.

I didn't sub again today which isn't surprising ... Managed to do some grocery shopping and pickup some prescriptions ... Now the dreaded recycling! Can't wait to hear about sueg's vacation and jeremysgirl's first day at the new job! Dinner will be something from the freezer or takeout ... either sounds fine!

We got about 2 inches at most here in NW Indiana. Mostly lake effect from Lake Michigan. I had hoped we'd get a shit-ton and everyone could stay home. But I didn't have to drive in it, so that's my privilege! Mt semester doesn't start til next Tues, so I am full speed ahead on laundry, organizing, cleaning and baking. I'm taking a break for a few. Nick is stopping by home for lunch. I'm on a soup kick this week. I think dinner will be chicken salad on croissants, with chicken gnocchi soup leftover from Sunday. We have ham and bean soup with corn muffins. I have stuff for a new soup with spicy sausage and orzo. It's cold here and that all sounds good. We also have some Steaks we need to use. I discovered our garage freezer isn't freezing solid. We have a chest freezer we need to get set up so that will help. I have a pupper in my lap with a blanket and a drink. This is dangerous. I could easily grab a book and sit here all day and get nothing else done.

It is cold and windy here in the NE, 17 degrees and windy, my fingers were freezing just putting out the trash/recycling this am. I was then out there twice picking up the recycling that blew over...of course all over our neighbors yard/driveway!!!
No walk outside for me again today, I'll hop on the spin bike again....Not my favorite, but better than nothing. Dinner will be WW shepherds pie! Leftover soup for lunch!!!
Safe travels to the sueG's....Hope the water/heat issue is resolved by the time you make it home! Tearisci....That is infuriating....why wouldn't any insurance plan cover health issues??, in the long run you would potentially be saving them $$$

I got up early and made cookies.. about to put them in the mail to my sister. off to post office then running south to my new doc's office to drop off my old medical records.. big fat paper file.
then home, laundry, then taking kid to do shopping before I leave town. then last packing to do and trying to think of what i have forgotten.
take out for dinner.. so I leave my kid some leftovers as we go off. at least it is a little warmer today and it is crystal clear to the ocean. maybe a green flash tonight (as sun hits the ocean horizon).

In this day and age, it's just crazy to think that it's not covered. Even nutrition counseling isn't covered! I did all of the leg work by talking to them about the insurance and while they accept my insurance, this plan doesn't work with them. I'm having our insurance broker do some digging to see if the other plan covers it and seeing if I can switch. It's so stupid.

Tearisci, can you apply for a gap exception w/your insurance co.? That is a special policy that your insurance company could write that would cover your surgery and all appts. You have to request it and there should be a department that handles it. Definitely ask your insurance broker for help. Being healthy shouldn't cost a fortune.

maybe a green flash tonight (as sun hits the ocean horizon). Every time I'm at the beach for sunset, I cross my fingers I'll see a green flash. No luck so far. Tearisci, had your weight loss surgical group billed you for anything last year? I was in a slightly different situation where our PPO was negotiating a continuing contract with the health group my gyne onc is part of and we received notice they would no longer be covered. Because I'd already had my initial consult, I could appeal to continue under his care for surgery, etc., but it was stress I did NOT need. Good luck finding a way around this. I'm continuing to avoid driving while waiting to hear if my tires have come in. If they do, I'll probably pick up something at Costco for dinner. If not, I've pulled pumpkin and butternut squash I roasted and froze during our presoup season harvest and will make a Thai-ish ginger peanut soup.

Another cold one here today. The wind is brutal so no walk for me either. My mom’s car had a dead battery this morning so DH and I went and boosted it. It’s now sitting in our driveway attached to the battery charger.
Supper is roast beef, roasted potatoes and a veggie of some sort.

Hi friends! Slowly settling back into the swing of things for work.
Technically, we only got off at noon on Christmas Eve, Christmas day, and something similar for NYE/NYD, but DH gets a whole 2 weeks straight off, so I always save some of my days so we can be off together. (My last timesheet was nothing but floating holiday, actual holiday, and vacation hours.)
He made chicken and rice soup for dinner this week, but I'm meeting up with some coworkers who are in town, and we'll get Thai. I just cleared off the car, and was able to back out of and into my parking spot with no issue (yay all wheel drive!).
If campus is open, I'll drive DH to work tomorrow because I have a doctor appointment in the morning. It was 60 and sunny and I got out of breath way too easily last week when we were being touristy, so probably best to get it checked out.
No word yet for his interview/background check stuff, but they were closed yesterday. We're not sure what their remote work situation looks like.

Good Morning! We had a wicked wind and freezing rainstorm yesterday and into the night. Things are much calmer this morning. Our ding dong neighbors, you know the ones with the blasted dumpster, came barreling out of their driveway out of control and slammed into the ditch and trees on our side of the road. There was all kinds of crazy activity from them last night. I wish it had of been light out so I could have been full on Mrs. Kravitz. Dinner tonight is eggroll in a bowl. Trying to get back in the habit of healthy eating. No more cookies for breakfast and a bowl of popcorn late at night. Sound like a lot of you are having soup this week! Tearisci I hope you can get your insurance stuff figured out quickly and you can move forward with your surgery.

I had one consultation last year and decided to wait until the new year because I wanted to reduce my out of pocket spend for deductibles etc. At the very end of December, our company decided to change insurance providers and I thought I had done my research and figured out that they would take my new insurance but when I emailed the bariatric insurance person a copy of my new card, she said it wasn't covered under the plan I chose. I'm now trying to see if a) it is covered under the other plan we were offered and b) is it too late to switch plans if it is covered. I doubt I'll get good news but they are looking into it. I'm just so frustrated and down about it

Every time I tried to pop in here today I got called away. I was actually busier than I thought I would be today. Had a little math puzzle this afternoon. I like math puzzles. Delta Dawn told me Happy Mathing and may you be one with the number. And I feel like I need this on a T-shirt. 😂 I have such a corny sense of humor, I know. I went to the primary doc this morning for my check up and she saw all the tests in relation to the allergic reactions. And she was like, what was the allergists conclusion? I said he thinks I'm developing an allergy to one of my meds. And she said the name of my blood pressure name. She said it is known for inducing allergies. I was like really? She said if it isn't that one, it is probably one of my mental health meds. So she said, let's switch the med. So fingers crossed that is going to do it. I'm making pancakes for dinner with strawberries and sausage (vegan for me).

Good afternoon all from the arctic south. Better wear your booties 'cause it ccoolldd outside! (guess the movie) I walked out and there were little snow flurry flakes on the hood of my car this morning. We are supposed to get winter weather beginning Thursday afternoon/evening. Depending on which app you check, we could get an inch or up to 7 inches. I'll wake up to what I wake up to. Ours schools close around here due to rural roads and we just don't get this kind of weather and don't have the prep for it. I reminded the newish pastor that we follow the school closings. (even though I have a Sube and should be able to handle the snow. But there will be ice mixed in) So we are all on alert. I just don't know what we are having for dinner tonight. I may make the chili that I was going to make last night for DH. I made him a hamburger instead. Enough ground beef for a small pot. I am not super hungry at the moment so I am not good at making decisions. I do have a few of the garlic naan leftover from Sunday. I could possibly turn those into little pizzas. I have stuff for mine but I am not sure if there is real mozzerella for DH's. He might just get a can of tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. I am not helping anything by munching on date "snickers". Oh my goodness they are so good. And my WM is out of dates. I don't want to have to go to the store just for those. jeremysgirl I made RPL vegan pancakes on Saturday and they were fabulous. I used them for breakfast sandwiches yesterday and today with some meatless sausage patties from TJs. I ran out this morning and I am debating making more. Tearisci I am so bummed to hear your insurance news. So so sorry! I am really beginning to hate, yes that is a strong word, insurance companies! The Birdhouse Lady I love eggroll in a bowl! Those neighbors just sound peachy! scrapmaven I make a really good tortilla soup. I need to think about making it again and splitting it into 2 batches. One with chicken for DH and one without for me. It was really drool worthy. cadoodlebug, horseradish meatloaf sounds intriguing. I love meatloaf and horseradish. I have read all posts but I can't reply to all at the moment. Ya know, work. Plus I hear the stray dog barking outside that I am trying to get rescued. I am making him a shelter and I need to get it wrapped with a feather comforter and get some food in there so he will know it is his. I would so take him but my 2 dogs wouldn't accept him.

Today I went to the gym and worked all day. Dh offered to make BLTs and I’m currently thinking about what to make on the side- and I just thought soup and salad. Off to make that right now.
I’m going to die cut some stitching card fronts and likely sit in front of the tv and stitch this evening. I think I’ve saved these particular activities purposely for this time of year.
