Do you ever buy scrapbook supplies on Ebay or Etsy?
The discussion about Basic Grey made me think about this. The last time we talked about Basic Grey I lamented that I was running out of Max & Whiskers. So I went on Ebay and found a 6x6 pad and chipboard stickers that were being sold together. They weren't cheap but now I have more Max & Whiskers. Yay!
I also hunted down a Photoplay St. Patrick's Day collection that I wanted and I was really excited to get it.
I also have bought out of print lines on Etsy, too. I buy acrylic and wood pieces on Etsy, too.
Do any of you use Ebay or Etsy for scrapbook products?
How about Amazon?

I have purchased discontinued products a few times. Some have been reasonably priced and some very expensive…it just depends how bad I want it. 😁
I’m currently looking at Ali Edwards products on eBay but wow her stamps are expensive. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

I occasionally purchase older and former (company now closed) scrapbook items on ebay and etsy.
The hunt for it takes dedication, checking every few days-ish. I-you never know, when someone else is going to clear out some or all of their scrapbook stash, and list it for sale.

I've bought things from both - there was a Simple Stories collection that's proven tricky to find. I do have a few pieces from both sites, as well as someone on here who sent me some. I plan on incorporating most of it into a future trip scrapbook, but I did use 2 card making pieces onto the cover of this year's Project Life album.

I buy washi tape on Etsy, and sometimes cut files.
I have bought Basic Grey paper on E-bay, and a die when my Sizzix circle die stopped cutting.

I have purchased LOTS of Basic Grey on Ebay. Also Tim Holtz retired dies for my collection.
I sell a lot of supplies on Ebay as well. I used to sell and buy on Etsy but it’s more difficult to find what I’m looking for on that platform.

Just cut files on Etsy. Namely, mountain biking cut files that aren't too cutesy for my husbands and sons' mountain biking adventures.

I sometimes buy from eBay, Etsy & Mercari if I'm looking for discontinued items. I try not to buy scrappy stuff from Amazon (trying to not buy as much from there).

I’m now only doing general paper crafting/collage art/junk journals. I buy most of my crafting “tools” (punches, dies, stamps) from Amazon and a little from eBay. I follow a ‘vintage style’ paper Collage Artist that sells on Etsy and I’ve purchased both physical and digital items. Once in a while I see a YouTuber use a paper I like and try to track down the best price. The dedicated ‘scrapbooking” sites have such high S&H for single items that I can’t justify purchasing from them. I’ve had good luck sourcing Mintay paper from Etsy and at reasonable prices and S&H.

I buy from one Ebay store and buy a ton from Etsy. Here lately I've been on a Washi kick, so I used some of my gift cards from Christmas to order from a few Washi sellers on Etsy. I do have a few Etsy sellers that I check regularly for scrappy supplies and purchase from them. I buy almost no scrappy supplies from Amazon except for the supplies I need to store and organize my stamps.

I bought a Martha Stewart scallop border punch on ebay that I had been searching for for quite a while. I'm so happy to have it. I've thought about buying OA on ebay but I'm afraid it will be the lower quality printed variety that was sold on Peachy Cheap. I'm always on the hunt for good deals on Amazon but no scrapbook purchases from Etsy so far. Although I've looked.

I bought a bunch of 49 and Market a few months ago really cheap .
I bought some junk journaling stuff on eBay not long ago.
And bought some old Creative Memories stickers from eBay as well.
Nothing from Etsy.

eBay's a decent place for the occasional deal - like most places, esp. Etsy/Amazon, it's gone down the enshittification chute over the years. There's a ton of unbranded/knock off Chinese stuff there to sort through and it's about twice the price vs. going to AliEx or similar sites yourself. I got a good deal on a set of Copic inks & markers last year on eBay, and am waiting for some dies from Europe.
I haven't bought from Etsy in 20+ years. It's really hard to find anything on there because you have to wade through all the mass-manufactured and AI slop.

No, not during the last decade+. I only purchased a handful of (long-ago discontinued) Quickutz alpha/numerical die sets on ebay 10-12 years ago & have never bought anything (papercrafting or otherwise) on Amazon, Etsy, Mercari, AliExpress, Temu, or similar sites.

I have purchased on both, but only stuff I can't find elsewhere.

A few select things on Etsy, usually after seeing someone else refer to a seller, just to verify if it is legit. I have bought more on Ebay over the years, especially when I am looking for a particular stamp or brand that is no longer being sold, or if I am looking for a very specific kit or paper.
I have bought selectively from Amazon, although I try to look and buy from ACOT or Scrapbook com first just to support them. Sometimes, though, I want a stamp or ink and I can't find it anywhere else.
I miss Basic Grey and October Afternoon also and hoard what I do have of both. I actually have a decent amount of BG paper and mostly letter stickers for OA. BG has a fabric company now - I think?
I have a ton of stamps I want to resell and I am sure there is a market for, but I get overwhelmed by trying to figure out shipping and make sure I don't end up losing money or breaking even.

It's cost prohibitive for me: I have purchased a few things on etsy that were hand made or storage related, but not name-brand stuff. I'd love to get more discontinued lines (BG or OA) but the prices - no way (actually makes me consider selling what I have )

I like to use Etsy and Ebay to buy retired scrapbook product. In no way am I saving money, I ended up paying more but to me it was worth it for me to get something that was hard to find.

I’m impressed that you all can remember papers or stamps you saw a while back. I can’t remember items I saw a week ago.
I’ve purchased from Amazon, usually sold out newer stuff, but not eBay or Etsy. For crafting.

I purchase on Ebay quite a bit and love that, especially for older collections or my coveted thickers. Ha! I have never purchased on Etsy though.

I purchase stickers and Washi from Etsy. Never considered eBay for scrapbook related products.

I have bought cut files and some digi supplies on Etsy. I haven't been on eBay in years. From Amazon, I get off brand printer ink, label tape, and storage envelopes. It used to have a heavy card stock I used for card bases, but I think that has been discontinued. Mostly if I miss out on a new release or run out of one I love, I see if a LSS somewhere in Canada sells it online or just let it go.

i buy SB items more on Ebay than Etsy. Etsy has the more obscure items but they definitely charge more across the board than ebay. i don't order very many craft items on amazon but i'm open to it especially if i need it fast. then it's worth paying a little extra for getting it sooner than ebay or etsy.

I look for retired dies or stamps that match a set I found for sale at SSS, ACOT, or SB.com.
I was able to find the die set for a stamp set I have that retired a few years ago on eBay for $13.
Other than that, no I don't search out things.
And honestly people ask too much on Etsy. I will pay for a handmade item with no issues, but the mark up many have on items is ridiculous.

Used to be the only mass manufactured items you could sell on Etsy were vintage (don't remember the cutoff, but like 20+ years old? maybe?) and it worked really well for that. Sadly it's degenerated into yet another dropshipping junkpile. There was a good video about how Etsy is forcing out actual creators due to its demands to offer free shipping or you get ghosted in the search results. Lemme see if I can find it.

In the past I've bought from both eBay & Etsy (especially Basic Grey!)
I haven't bought much from either lately though I was just on Etsy looking at some handmade titles to use for the 2024 total Eclipse scrapbook layout I want to make.
I do tend to check eBay when I can't find a particular line in online stores anymore.
I've bought from Amazon as well but usually it's supplies like cutting plates for my Gemini or adhesive.

I’ve bought some digital designs off Etsy, for printing, cutting, and using on traditional layouts, but I have never bought physical supplies from Etsy or Ebay.
I’ve got a craft room that is overflowing. Digitals are a good option for me, since they only take up space on an external hard drive, then I can print and cut as needed.
