Good morning!
A hearty thank you to cadoodlebug for doing her usual brilliant job of hosting the thread. I got home and was too busy getting settled to even boot up my computer. Of all the people who missed me, my cats missed me the most. They wouldn't leave my side. Don't worry. I'm not stupid. They missed their primary feeer.
So, I would just like to say that **GypsyGirl** needs to move her home to the museum district. It's gorgeous and so warm and inviting. Remember when she was remodeling her kitchen? My goodness. It's amazing. Now for the best part, spending time w/ **GypsyGirl**. We have some fun stuff in common and I could have stayed all day, but I had to get going. **GypsyGirl** is warm and gracious and it was a very nice visit. It was a long, boring trip and seeing **GypsyGirl** made it worth it. Of course, the headache was gone after the first 3 days and I feel better overall. The headache was the product of a really bad shoulder and bad Physical therapy. The pain went back to the shoulder and now it's on it's way out completely. Now we're gonna hone in on the overwhelming chronic fatigue. He has a 6 month plan and I'm on board.
naby64, you're at the point where you will slowly start to rebuild your life. You're very wise to redo the room and get re-settled. Healing is up and down, but you'll find happiness and a new normal. The fog and the grief will lift and you'll be living a new life. For now, take it day by day and sometimes hour by hour and know that you're in the hearts of many people. I'll walk w/you and we'll all be here when you need girlfriends.
rymeswithpurple, what did your doctor say? Asthma will cause chest discomfort, but you should always have new chest pain checked. Though I'm not a doctor, my first thought was asthma and sinus infections. That's my old wheelhouse.
leannec, what fun to sub for your dd. Were her students nagging you for stories?
Happy, easy, wonderful day to all.

we had takeout last night. I have enough for dinner but dh does not. so I may end up making chicken something tonight.
snowed this morning.. and now the sun came out.. but it is super windy so not motivated to go skiing. also, still warm at 34 degrees.
so after a lot of cleaning yesterday..more a lazy day today. on thursday, my brother's cleaning person is coming over so we are very interested in having her clean on an occasional basis.. like when we leave town.

scrapmaven , I am thrilled that the trip was successful and that there is a 6-month plan! Your visit with **GypsyGirl** sounds wonderful ~ I'm so happy that both of you could carve out enough time to have that visit. I'm going swimming this morning although it will be the coldest morning yet. But the sun is shining after so many days of rain so there's that. I have a Hand and Foot game this afternoon so I will pick up a pizza for dinner.

Happy Wednesday!
I'm almost done with my reporting for the month. We just changed project management systems at work and it's been a bit of a bumpy ride. Thankfully, it's the one I used in my last job so I'm pretty familiar with it.
My mom will hopefully be moving to rehab today. They had a bed for her yesterday but ended up giving it to someone else. She's very with it these days which is nice and hopefully the new medicine will help her not have episodes again. It's just nice to finally have some insight into possibilities.
I'll take my dad to see her this afternoon and then he can come over and have leftover spaghetti and meatballs with me.
Hope you all have a good day!

Happy Wednesday! scrapmaven - You forgot to take the fog back to California with you! It's been a foggy morning but finally burning off. Had a wonderful visit with you on Monday, but they are never long enough. We could talk for days! You looked wonderful after your treatments. Hope to see you again later this year! I've been busy working on getting things ready at home for DH. He is going to be sent home tomorrow. Spent some time at the storage unit yesterday. I needed to put a few things in and get all the extra pillows out. Mr. Gypsy has turned into a pillow diva while in hospital and now he can choose from a rather large assortment. Also was able to consolidate the items that are stored in luggage there and can donate the last of the old luggage set. Brought home an old luggage rack. The straps were needlepointed by my late MIL so I will remove those then donate the rack. Took some photos of my dress form and plan to list that soon. After losing 60 lbs, Hazel is just too large for me to work with (she's non adjustable). Slowly a bit more floor space is opening up. I've just finished my paperwork for the day and will now get ready and head to the hospital to visit DH. After that I need to stop by HEB and restock the fridge. Starting tomorrow night I'm going to have to make real dinners! As for tonight's dinner, who knows what that will be. Hope everyone has a good day.

Good evening all DH has just been in and out quickly before heading out to his next dinner appointment - his third this week! He just came home to drop off his car before taking the train into town. He has decided to cancel his trip planned for next week, which I am happy about. It is a three day ‘lockdown’ event - on an island, no phones allowed, I would have been given an emergency contact in case of anything major - and I have my neurosurgery follow up during it. Nothing much happened here today. I went for a walk and have been knitting and now I’m here and waiting for it to be dinner time. Dinner is going to be rechauffe curry from last night. It was really tasty and I’m sure a day of flavour mingling will have improved it further! scrapmaven - I’m glad to hear you have a six month plan and hope all works out. **GypsyGirl** - you must be so happy to have DH coming home, even with the extra time and effort to prepare. I hope all goes well for you both.

scrapmaven Thanks for checking in on me! My appt's not til 2, so hopefully I'll have some answers after! I know you and I are very well-versed in sinus infections. I did get a recent diagnosis of asthma and do have an inhaler. I'm just exhausted today, but am glad my preferred NP at the office had an opening. I don't mind seeing a different one, but this one is who I see for my annual visits and other woes, so she's well-versed in my craziness.

Well I am just thrilled to have you back in much better shape than when you left us scrapmaven! A 6 month plan sounds awesome. And good news that Tearisci mom is moving into rehab and **GypsyGirl** DH is moving out of it. I am having a slow day today. I been doing bits of work as they are coming in and working. A bit on my Christmas mini book in the interim periods. I ended up having vegan fish and tater tots for dinner last night. Tonight I promised Jeremy spaghetti with meatballs. Vegan for me. Regular for him.

We are just home from my besties MIL funeral. DH went with me although I told him that he didn’t have to. It was a very religious service with lots of hymns and scripture readings. I’m not religious so it was a lot. When we left, I told DH that I wanted him to play Luke Bryan music at my service.
No other plans for the day. I’ve made reservations at an expensive steak house for tomorrow night. We got a gift certificate from DS for Christmas and want to use it before Feb 15 when the Canadian “no tax” event will end.
Supper is undecided yet although there is some chicken left over from last night. I might make a salad with it.

The water was lovely this morning. I hopped into the hot tub for about 10 minutes after the class and that helped warm me up. **GypsyGirl**, I'm so glad your DH is headed home tomorrow! It has been a long time coming.

DH is still not feeling well, He got up and had some oatmeal, first food since monday's dinner. He is back in bed sleeping...which he did all day yesterday. I will cook the chicken that I didn't do last night as I really don't want meatloaf yet again. So pan roasted chicken thighs , some rice and either a salad or broccoli will be my dinner.
Scrapmaven...glad to see you back! Happy you are better and your DR has a 6 month plan for you!! Gypsygirl..Happy that your DH is headed home!!!! naby64..Thinking of you 💝

After a couple long weeks my dh is home!! Dinner will actually be cooked and eaten!! I guess my lazy dinners of popcorn, cashews, and apples are over!! I think tonight we will have steak, salad, and a baked potato. I'm not mad about it! Glad your back in your nest scrapmaven . Crazy that you endured that headache for so long and your Houston Dr. fixed it in three days! He really is a miracle worker!!! **GypsyGirl** Happy to hear that your dh will be coming home tomorrow!! Thinking of you naby64 . Sorry your husband is under the weather karenlou. Hopefully he will feel better tomorrow.

taylortroop, I'm sorry to hear about your bff's mil. I want my funeral to be funny. Yes, go ahead and cry, but please remember me for my sense of humor. I would rather have George Carlin host my funeral than a rabbi. **GypsyGirl**, if you and I lived in the same area our husbands would complain, because we'd ignore them while yakking away. karenlou, your poor dh. I hope that he feels better by tmw and that you don't catch it.

Good to read that many with health issues are seeing improvement. I hope Mr Gypsy has a wonderful first day home!
I’ve been here at Mom’s house since Sunday, dealing with her rehab and move into assisted living tomorrow as well as looking after her house sale. The buyers had a septic inspection on Monday (I had to pay some one to dig up the frozen ground but I get it)
That night I noticed the house getting quite cool so went to turn up the furnace only to find it was set to 22 and reading 19.
I checked the furnace and did all the things suggested, the breaker was flipped and each time I turned it back on it flipped.
Called the service line and videod with them to try and trouble shoot and they could not figure out why there was no power.
Since overnight temps were above zero I decided to make it through the night with extra blankets and had a tech come out this morning.
I mentioned to him that it was kind of coincidental that there were likely people in behind the furnace yesterday with the septic inspection (the clean out is there) and low and behold, he found that the wire into the control box had been pulled out, causing the furnace to short. So, I believe someone accidentally did this trying to shimmy by the furnace unit but it’s a good thing I am staying here this week to notice or else we could have been facing damage from frozen pipes as we’ve gone back into bitter cold temps.
I’ve been packing and sorting for Mom’s move. Movers came today so I spent the day setting up her new home. She is in a studio suite, 2 large, light filled windows and high ceiling so it appears quite spacious. My brother stopped into the hospital to see her today and she was packing so hopefully this means she is looking forward to the move.
For dinner tonight I had Meals on Wheels lol. I cancelled mom’s spot when she broke her hip in Nov. I actually spoke to someone on the phone. They haven’t billed since but every once in a while a meal shows up on Wednesday . Someone’s list hadn’t been updated. I’ve called about 30 times since and the mailbox is always full. I’ve made a note to search for an e-mail to get this looked after. The sweet curry chicken was delish!

We are taking a break to get some laundry done. I borrowed ski socks from one sis's apartment last week and see her tomorrow so want to clean and return them. But I also want to keep wearing them because none of my socks are nearly as warm. Tonight the sis I'm staying with and I are going to a flamenco dance class. Not sure what to expect, but it should be fun. Although we are both whining a bit about how late it will be. The Monday class was at 7 (canceled because of the weather) and this one is at 8:15 which means we will be out past bedtime. Dinner is going to be vegetables stuffed with rice and Italian sausage.

leannec, what fun to sub for your dd. Were her students nagging you for stories? Not a single question! Junior high kids are not very interested in "old people"! I’m not religious so it was a lot. When we left, I told DH that I wanted him to play Luke Bryan music at my service. Love it! I want country music played at my funeral too!

I expect a huge turnout at my funeral because I have told everyone that DH will have my praline recipe on the back of the program. Now, I need to make sure HE has the recipe!

Welp. Not much to report on my appt.
Probably just the change in temps screwing with me as they tend to do.
My NP does have a student nurse who I saw prior to seeing her. She made a comment about my immune system overreacting to things (seasonal allergies, recent asthma diagnosis, and my crappy pneumococcal antibody levels), so I'm wondering if that's something to look into.
Edit: My pulse was a little elevated at my appt, so I can always mention that when I go to the cardiologist in a few weeks, but that seems to always jump a little. It was also freezing today.

Dd thought maybe her amniotic fluid was leaking. I spent the morning getting a hospital bag together. I could not find a button down nightgown. It ended up not being that. But they didn’t really give an explanation. That took the entire day. I had frozen pizza. Glad you’re back scrapmavenI bet your Dh is so happy to be coming home tomorrow **GypsyGirl**

Hello all. I had rechauffe pizza for dinner (early) and now I just made half a sandwich with rechauffe chicken because it’s like 5 hours later and I got hungry again. So glad to hear scrapmaven is feeling better, Mr. **GypsyGirl** is finally coming home, and teddyw’s DD’s water didn’t break. taylortroop, sorry you had to attend a funeral today. rymeswithpurple, hope you feel better soon.

Delta Dawn Very true. She was super sweet, and I'm always happy to help a medical professional in training. I saw one the first time I saw the ENT I see now and I think she was taken aback that I brought so much supporting material with me. I'm glad to finally have found one who actually listens and provides reasonable things that can actually help instead of nothing like a different one I saw. lucyg Thanks!
