Is anyone else addicted to the NYT Spelling Bee? It’s the first thing I open when I wake up in the morning. I strive to make Genius before the kettle has boiled.

DH and I do the bee every morning while eating breakfast. We were so off our game this morning. Forgot about the -ed.

I added it to my morning puzzle routine several months ago. My goal is to make Genius daily and have a pretty good success rate with it. Yesterday I missed because I forgot to go back in the evening and finish it up. Each day I go as far as I can on my own before I turn to the Spelling Bee Buddy for help. Using the clues I can usually add more words. It's like combining a crossword puzzle with the spelling bee part. Usually just using a single clue will jog my memory and I'll think of several more words.

I only do the unsubscribed version so get kicked out early (at Solid?). My morning puzzle routine is Worldle first then over to the NYT for Wordle, Spelling Bee, Mini Crossword, Strands and Connections. I try to finish them while sitting for a 10 minute therapy and usually do.

I play occasionally now. I went through a phase a couple of years ago where I played daily.

I’m normally an excellent speller but I have so much trouble going in the circle. It’s got to be good for your brain to have to think like that.

I play the free version with my first cup of coffee every morning. Spelling, Wordle, and the mini crossword.

In my WhatsApp group we have had someone who guessed the word at first go - obviously just fluke! Daily guesses generally range from maybe 10-20 but then again, yesterday I had to ask for the answer because I could not figure it out 😁

Hey stranger, nice to see you!! Spelling Bee is one of my least favourite of all the NYT free games. Which is strange, considering that I have always prided myself on being a good speller. For some reason I have always struggled with finding words over four or five letters. DSO, on the other hand, is a terrible speller, but he's better than me at these kind of games. Go figure! I play at night in bed, and sometimes I play Spelling Bee, but most times I do not. This is the order in which I play the games: 1. Wordle - every day 2. Strands - every day 3. Connections - I attempt it every day, but if the themes are too USA-centric, or I am too tired, I occasionally give up. 4. The Mini crossword - most days, if I'm not too tired 5. Spelling Bee - occasionally play it, have never got past Very Good 6. Letter Boxed - haven't played it for months 7. Tiles - haven't played it for months - my eyes are too tired at that time of night Most nights I go to bed around midnight, so I often have to change the time and date setting on my phone to Perth time (3 hours behind Melbourne time) so I don't miss a day!

I was delighted to discover the Spelling Bee Buddy page fairly recently — I had been keeping my own two-letter list countdown by hand, so having it update is like magic. I don’t usually look at the clues, but I find the histogram very motivating. The little slideshow of hints at the tip can be useful, too.

I try to finish them while sitting for a 10 minute therapy and usually do. I admit that the NYT games app is the only app I pay to subscribe to. My daily play order is Spelling Bee, Strands, Connections. I like to make a fresh cup of coffee in the midmorning to do Wordle. And I do the three Sudokus at night. I suck at crosswords!!

Hello! I too struggle with some of the American themed Connections categories. And wow, the categories can be too obscure sometimes. There’s an Instagram account that does monthly summaries of Connections most heinous categories. 😹 I tried Boxed several times but my brain appears to be missing the portion wired for that. Which is odd, because I like boxes, and I like orders and patterns, and I like words… but not altogether apparently.

I play it! but I don't have a subscription, so it only lets me play for so long before it kicks me out of the game, and I can't get back into it.
I really should subscribe to the games, because I do play most of them on most days... I usually cannot figure out the 'connections' game, and the 'tiles' game makes my eyes hurt (I play it on my phone-- those tiles are tiny, lol).
