Hi everyone! Well, no Denny's breakfast for me this week since my mum has broken ribs! No biggie ... I am just hanging out at home this morning for awhile until I pick up a friend and we go grocery shopping and then for lunch ... teacher's lead exciting lives! He shops at Walmart so we have to go there first ... I hate it there so I might buy a couple of things before we go to my store ... it is more expensive but the quality is better for things like meat and veggies ... important to me! I don't know what lunch will be ... we will decide later ... Happy happy birthday to stormsts! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I have no real hobbies these days ... I play a game on my phone, read a little bit, spend too much time on the laptop ... I think this rings true though! How is Mr. **GypsyGirl** settling in? **GypsyGirl**? How is everyone else feeling today? I have no dinner plans ... it will be something out of the freezer ... fun times! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

I’ve been feeling just a bit ‘off’ all day. Not really sick, but a mild headache, fuzzy headed and not wanting to eat much. I’m hoping I’m not coming down with whatever it is that is making the rounds here - that seems to be laying people low for a week or more. I don’t have a cough or other cold symptoms, so hopefully it’s not that. Normal Sunday here - church before lunch, then home. DH went into the office for a bit while I watched football - our women’s team had a game this afternoon. DH prepped dinner after church and it is slow cooking away. It is like a veal osso buco, but he has added some middle eastern spices to it. It smells good and I hope I have an appetite to eat it. Have a great Sunday everyone. leannec - it’s sad you can’t have your breakfast with your mum. I hope she’s on the mend soon.

I didn't go out this morning. if dh wants me to go out with him this afternoon, it can be a bit much on my knees to do both. I was so tired yeasterday.
so I will go out tomorrow morning. supposed to be -1. with wind. I can bundle up though
dinner is unknown. I have some chicken leftovers.. may give that to dh and eat some scrambled eggs for myself.
run over to post office and mail some things. do some paperwork. another exciting sunday.

He is doing well and we are gradually getting into a routine. The nursing care has been great and gives me the freedom to go run errands - or just hide in my sewing room. DD spent the afternoon with him yesterday and had him outside in the wheelchair. As he builds his strength and stamina up I'm sure he'll be out more and more. Thanks for checking in and thanks to the tribe for all the prayers, concern and support they given me over the past 7.5 months. Dinner tonight will be a Super Bowl menu I ordered from Brennan's! I have to go pick it up at 2 pm. We are having Seafood Gumbo, Turtle Soup, Muffaletta sliders and pralines for dessert.

leannec , how is your mom doing? Is she being kept comfortable? Do you want to start a hobby? Do what makes you happy. sueg , I hope that you will be fine and that you can fight off whatever this is. Take good, loving care of yourself today. I have to get up and go to the store for a few things. I'm stalling. Today will be spent w/a new, hopefully video game, some knitting and my treatments. If I go to the store now then I can relax in my lounge pants for the remainder of the day. We'll watch the super bowl, but I'll mainly be hanging out doing my thing. Dinner for dh is rechauffe enchiladas.
ntsf, you must be in your glory on the slopes.
**GypsyGirl**, I'm glad that you're able to do your thing while your dh is taken care of. You'll get much more used to this. Wishing our lovely stormsts a very Happy Birthday! May you enjoy a nice celebration w/o work. May your year be filled w/joy, laughter, fun and good health. Happy Birthday!

How are things at home, **GypsyGirl**? Do you like dh' nurses, so far? How is your husband doing? So far the nurses have been great. It allows me to sleep through the night which is nice. He's doing well and trying to pace himself so that he doesn't tire out too much. He's happy to have his tv/remote back and be able to eat his favorite foods. Radiation treatment tomorrow.

stormsts: Happiest of birthdays to you! We got a few inches of snow last night so I shovelled the sidewalks while DH plowed with the ATV. We are both very cautious about shovelling since we know a couple people who e died this year shovelling snow. My mom is on her way over for a visit with Walker. She brings treats for him every time she comes. Supper will be shake and bake chicken breasts.

Well I am so glad to hear that Mr **GypsyGirl** is settling in. Has it just been nice to be able to spend time with him at home? I can't imagine the kind of homecoming I would have if Jeremy had been away so long. stormsts happy birthday! I really hope you are taking some time for yourself today. leannec my life is even less exciting than yours. I can barely get myself in one grocery store let alone two in a day. 😂 The show was great last night. It was the most enjoyable time I have had with Chloe in a very long time. So for that I am grateful. And it was a superb performance too. I'm quilting. Slowly. I don't know why I'm moving so slow today. I am going to make chicken Alfredo tonight with my rotisserie chicken. I'll make homemade noodles too. Jeremy is happy.

I have been busy this morning. Cleaning up a major mess from my oldest dog. Seems we will be making a visit to the vet, hopefully tomorrow. It's worrisome to me. Like I need more. Then I grabbed paint. When I said I was going to paint, I meant it. I have an emerald/jade green for the bathroom cabinet and a much lighter shade of that for the walls.
Today is game day and has always been a big Sunday in this house. I know they are not playing but I'm wearing my DH's Tampa Bay Bucs jersey. It will serve as him being here. I'm making sausage balls and have French onion dip/chips to go along with.

I don’t know what’s for dinner. Maybe Chinese noodles with chicken, since I have all that stuff. Right now I’m thinking about breakfast. Scrambled eggs with veggies and cheese, if I can just drag myself out of bed. erm. My son seems to be staying here. Hopefully just for the weekend before she relents. He is admittedly hard to live with. But so is she. The 15yo is still at her house. A very happy birthday to you, stormsts!

Happiest of birthdays to stormsts ! I finally ordered a rash guard (like a wetsuit) top and some webbed swim gloves from Amazon and they should arrive today. I am so excited, I hope they both fit. DH just went to get the propane tank filled as I plan on grilling tri-tip steaks for dinner. I'll make some guacamole as a snack. We will have the Super Bowl on but I don't like either team. Sorry the meme is so big, if I do it smaller, it doesn't post.

Happy birthday stormsts!!Dinner is either chicken thighs or pork chops, whichever DS decides to cook. Either is fine with me. We have options for sides and there will be a salad as well. We got about 8 inches of pretty fluffy snow last night. Glad it was on the weekend. Our plow guy and shoveler did a great job clearing it up this morning. Ally spent the night after I gave her Mom a break yesterday. My dd, DS and dd’s partner are all dealing with different health issues and it’s been really hard all around.

There's chips and crackers also. And brownies

We are pretty crushed that our team didnt make the Super Bowl. One bad game at the wrong time and we were done. I dont give a rip about this Super Bowl. I hate seeing the same teams over and over again and am pretty sick of the favoritism shown towards one team in particular. But, we will watch because we always do.
Bacon wrapped water chestnuts Taco dip and chips Veggies and dip Toasted Ravioli- if you like the kind from Olive Garden, check the freezer section at yoir grocery store for Louisa brand toasted ravioli- the beef are like OG's, but they also have sausage and cheese (separate, not together).

cadoddlebug.. this is the first year sun valley company is allowing non disabled people to use the ski bikes on the lifts. after the lower shock was damaged last year (and a total pain to replace) we did an extensive deep dive into the proper way to load on a lift. dh made a video and gave it to our local outdoor recreation for all group and to the manufacturer of the product. I just have to load two chairs behind him. dh can get up to 28 mph on it. it helps if you are familiar with biking/skiing.
there are other kinds of ski bikes out there.. this works for us. he wears snowboard boots and has a leash on his waist that attaches to the bike (ski area requires this).

Happy birthday stormsts! We had kind of a crazy morning. My mom called me from rehab saving "help me, help me" We tried to call the nurses station and didn't get an answer but my dad and I were already on the way down. She was completely off the meter high on her blood sugar. She wears a pump but didn't dose for over 12 hours. She's just not with it enough to use it right now so we took it off of her and the nurses are going to give her insulin shots. Very scary. Dinner tonight will be Super Bowl food. I think my sister is making something KC and something Philly. I'm bringing over pastry pups and Mac and cheese balls from TJs. Hope you all have a great day!

I’ve been at my sister’s because her mil passed away. My nephew from England came home with his partner too. I did come back home yesterday with DDs because of a storm. I may go back tomorrow to see my nephew before he leaves. Another nephew’s partner had a death in her family so they have all that to attend today & tomorrow **GypsyGirl** you’re so lucky it’s warm enough he can get outside in fresh air. I’m glad it’s going well. linda I’m doing some of the same for dinner. I brought back homemade pizza shells from the Italian store back home. They look a little thick though. The girls & Luke are coming over for the start of the game. The only reason I care is because I bought a block for another sister’s school fundraiser. I forget where she’s taking them. They’re 8th graders and a few well behaved 7th graders to fill the bus. ntsf -1 would be a no for me but you’re such a trooper. cadoodlebug I prefer a bigger meme then I can read it.

I’m Peaing on my phone today, which makes it hard to tag and do links - hopefully this works… **GypsyGirl** , even thought it must be great having your DH home, it must be quite an adjustment for you. I’m glad that you are able to get out to do errands - and escape to your sewing room! Happy birthday stormsts! 🥳 I hope your day is fabulous. I tried a couple of new dishes for dinner: Korean BBQ Meatballs with Spicy Mayo Dip (Facebook link) Korean French Fries (Youtube link) They were both really good.

You have more than enough on your plate. teddyw, I'm so sorry for all of the losses in your family. Tearisci, what a terrifying phone call. I hope that they get your mother's sugars under control and get her to a much more stable pla

He's happy to have his tv/remote back and be able to eat his favorite foods. This made me smile as it would be the reason my DH would work to get home. I know it must be hard to not feel like you are hosting the nursing staff. Happy Birthday, stormsts. Hope you were able to have a bit of fun even though you are getting deep into the tax season. DH and I were up and out before dawn for our flight home. It was a great trip, but reinforced one of the biggest reasons we love San Diego is the weather. The first thing I did was trade socks and shoes for sandals when we got home. We are having chili and tortilla chips during the game. And Doritos because none of us can watch the Super Bowl without Doritos. Three fourths of us are very happy with the way the things are going. DH is likely to owe a bit of money unless something very wild happens in the second half. We probably had more hot chocolate in the last couple weeks than we've had in the last five years. My favorite was from a little Japanese bakery that puts toasted marshmallow fluff around the rim. Now this is the only way I want my hot chocolate.
