Fucking Missouri. I hate living here.
I’m already exhausted with constant onslaught of craziness. And it’s only going to get worse.

Maybe he could next sue some nursing home or something. Most of the ones here seem to have mostly women and often people of color on their staffs. I'm sure it is because they are all discriminating against all the middle aged white guys lining up for $10 an hour jobs to clean up after old people.
ETA: I don't mean to pick on nursing homes. It is just an example. There are countless jobs that are often staffed with women or minorities because white men wouldn't do those jobs.

lisae, thanks for the much needed giggle.
Such a waste of taxpayer money.
Women need to wake up and realize we are also being targeted.

It’s almost enough for me to go back to buying Starbucks coffee. Apart from them not being any near me, their coffee being crap and horribly expensive, I would

This is all absolute insanity! I am watching dystopia unfold in the US.
How does the *government* suing a business make any sense in the landscape of US ideals (particularly Republican) regarding the rights of private businesses and the overreach of big government? I’ve spent years and years reading the Republican (mostly) Peas whining about how unfair it is that a bakery or any other business can’t turn away customers if the business doesn’t approve of that customer’s appearance or existence — why should the bigoted have to bake for everyone?? And now; not one word from the Republicans about how wrong this is.
What I see in this contrasting exhibition of reactions is that Republicans broadly don’t actually GAF about size of government or liberty. They care about hate and control and discrimination.

Huh, weird, I thought StarBucks was in Elon’s little union busting club of billionaires and that would shelter them from some of the stupidity.

The presence of women and minorities in the workforce has become for these folks evidence of unfair hiring practices because obviously white men will always be the most qualified.
Also at some point the conflation of “DEI” and “affirmative action” is going to kill me.

I despise the politicians in Missouri. Good grief, it's hard to pick which one is worse. Missouri ranks at the bottom in so many things, especially education and teacher pay. But yeah, let's waste our tax dollars on this stupid ass lawsuit. I'm sure all the white men will be so happy that now they can get more jobs at Starbucks.

Aren't they also the ones who had a lawsuit saying that abortion pills reduced the teen pregnancy rate and therefore lowered their workforce? Something like that?

I don't recall that, but our politicians say so much crap, it's hard to keep track of it all. A couple of years ago, there was some right wing zealot representative who thought we should lower the age to marry to 14. He said he knew of plenty of people who had gotten married at a very young age, and they were fine and stayed married for many decades. Yeah, asshole, they probably seemed fine because they had NO OTHER OPTION. UGH. Then there was the Missouri representative who right after Roe V. Wade was overturned introduced a bill to make removal of an ectopic pregnancy illegal. It's clear what happens when your state sits at the bottom of the education barrel.

Wasn't it where the former Gov hung his mistress by her wrists in the basement... And he now sits in Congress.. Eric ?? Eric Greitens. He was elected Gov in 2016, but quickly resigned over evidence he physically abused his mistress. Eric Greitens who ran on the family values platform. Now, he probably would still be in office because no one would care.

Fucking Missouri. I hate living here. I’m already exhausted with constant onslaught of craziness. And it’s only going to get worse. I have always considered Missouri as my hometown.. I was born there (moved around to a lot of different states) and then graduated high school there. My memories are from there. And at some point I was considering downsizing and moving back once we were near retirement age. I am seriously second guessing that. I am so ashamed of my home state now. I don't know if I could handle it unless I just live in my little hole.
