What I don’t get about the drilling….for one thing, we are drilling more now than ever and more than any other country. But if oil is a finite resource, wouldn’t it be better to save ours until we need it? Why do people think we should just drill in every possible place immediately? And why the resistance to other forms of energy that would lead to more independence? But if oil is a finite resource, wouldn’t it be better to save ours until we need it? You would have to ask the experts about that. And why the resistance to other forms of energy that would lead to more independence?
I'm not sure what other forms you are referring to.

I know I'm going to regret this, but what exactly is Trump going to do about the politicians and how will that benefit the country? The new $400 million award to Tesla for the state department? How does that benefit anyone other than Musk? Also, that's new spending. Specifically what useless spending did Trump eliminate? And is this part of Trump's smart business plan? I'll have to research that, too, I don't know what that is about. **ETA. www.france24.com/en/live-news/20250213-us-state-dept-walks-back-purported-400-mn-tesla-contract. I guess it's no longer an issue. Specifically what useless spending did Trump eliminate?

The United States government is not a business, it does not function as a business and should not be run as a business. That aside, do smart, successful business people declare bankruptcy 6 times? Do they bankrupt casinos, where the house always wins? Are they gifted with a significant amount of start up money? Are they convicted of felonies including fraud? Was it a smart business move to stop the ban on bribes? Was it a smart business move to let an unelected individual take over the government? Was it a smart business decision to change the name from Denali to McKinley? Was it a smart business decision to call for an "Iron Dome"? Was it a smart business decision to pardon the J 6 criminals? At least 1 is a drug dealer and 5 or more have been re-arrested on other charges. apnews.com/article/fcpa-bribery-trump-antibribery-law-executive-order-b656ef40a0035591618d053aa0ac7458 The United States government is not a business, it does not function as a business and should not be run as a business.
It absolutely should and it is now. That's why the audits are causing such a kerfuffle with the left. A business' sole duty is a fiduciary one to increase shareholder value. It has no duty to protect, to build infrastructure, to pay its employees a living wage, or anything else. Business exists to enrich shareholders, period. Is that what you imagine the role of government is as well? Business also creates winners and losers. Who do you imagine the losers will be in this new, corporate USA?

Dump doesn't know anything about CHESS... unless he thinks it's a misspelling of CHEESE. You must be forgetting that he is a very skilled businessman. And he has shown that in this past 3 weeks. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! and once again, you didn't answer the actual question. How did CHANGING THE NAME do anything for ANYONE? I'm fairly certain changing the name wouldn't hold up in a court of law... umm, no... we *aren't* drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, because we're CALLING it something else- THAT'S how it's legal. ?!? Really?!? That's your awesome "chess move" call? That's not how ANY OF THIS WORKS!!! Merge, low information AND willfully ignorant. Don't forget willfully ignorant. When asked about alternate forms of energy... "I'm not sure what exactly you're referring to..." or "well, I can't read *that* article, so..." And the ever popular "I'm *sure* he knows what he's doing..." WILLFULLY IGNORANT.

It's about the potential for massive layoffs at Ford because Trump's tariffs are already causing havoc in the auto industry. Is that winning?

Oh my god. Keep talking. Too hilarious. 😂😂😂 Is he a businessman whose primary goal is profit for himself, or is he concerned about the little guy as you have previously claimed? Can’t be both. You probably believed in trickle-down economics, too. It CAN be both, the little guy and our great country. He's said it many times, he loves this country and is working to make it better. You can't deny that he is a brilliant business man. That's why the politicians hate him so much. He runs the country as a business. You can see that by all of the weeding out of useless spending he is doing. I can't wait until he goes after the politicians in congress, house and senate who have made themselves multimillionaires on a $200K per year salary. This is the one thing I will agree with you, but I honestly dont think it will happen. I'd love to see if he tries to cut them and see how they'll react. But I think he'll go after them, claim it's corruption (or maybe it will actually be), and then get a true yes-man in place that just keep.

Don't forget all the businesses that just closed down rather than declaring bankruptcy. And all of the trades people and businesses he just never paid. www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2016/06/09/donald-trump-unpaid-bills-republican-president-laswuits/85297274/www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/hundreds-claim-donald-trump-doesn-t-pay-his-bills-n589261A USA Today analysis published Thursday uncovered 60 lawsuits by ordinary Americans who say Trump and his businesses failed to pay them for their work.
The list includes plumbers and painters, waiters and bartenders, real estate brokers and even law firms who helped him defend such suits.
The documents reviewed by the newspaper include:
More than 200 liens since the 1980s that were filed by contractors and workers who said they were stiffed. Records released by casino regulators in 1990 that show 253 subcontractors on a single project were not paid in full or on time. Twenty-four Fair Labor Act violations by the Trump Plaza casino and Trump Mortgage for failure to pay minimum wage or overtime. The cases were resolved with an agreement to pay back wages.

Interesting how an elected official is judged for making $200k/year but I’m not seeing judgment for Musk awarding himself hundreds of millions of dollars in Tesla contracts.
(I don’t think 200k/year is a gross amount of money to make in a year).

I said that politicians that had a 200K salary per year are multimillionaires after a few years in their positions. The multimillions must be coming from somewhere because 200K isn't multimillions.

Don't forget all the businesses that just closed down rather than declaring bankruptcy. Several of the businesses either reopened, were rebranded or sold. lol no. For the record, here are some of Trump's noteworthy business failures. Trump Airlines — Trump borrowed $245 million to purchase Eastern Air Shuttle. He branded it Trump Airlines. He added gold bathroom fixtures. Two years later Trump could not cover the interest payment on his loan and defaulted. Trump Beverages — Although Trump touted his water as "one of the purest natural spring waters bottled in the world," it was simply bottled by a third party. Other beverages, including Trump Fire and Trump Power, seem not to have made it to market. And Trump's American Pale Ale died with a trademark withdrawal. Trump Game — Milton Bradley tried to sell it. As did Hasbro. After investment, the game died and went out of circulation. Trump Casinos — Trump filed for bankruptcy three times on his casinos, namely the Trump Taj Mahal, the Trump Marina and the Trump Plaza in New Jersey and the Trump Casino in Indiana. Trump avoided debt obligations of $3 billion the first time. Then $1.8 billion the second time. And then after reorganizing, shuffling money and assets, and waiting four years, Trump again declared bankruptcy after missing ongoing interest payments on multi-million dollar bonds. He was finally forced to step down as chairman. Trump Magazine — Trump Style and Trump World were renamed Trump Magazine to reap advertising dollars from his name recognition. However, Trump Magazine also went out of business. Trump Mortgage — Trump told CNBC in 2006 that "I think it's a great time to start a mortgage company. … The real-estate market is going to be very strong for a long time to come." Then the real estate market collapsed. Trump had hired E.J. Ridings as CEO of Trump Mortgage and boasted that Ridings had been a "top executive of one of Wall Street's most prestigious investment banks." Turned out Ridings had only six months of experience as a stockbroker. Trump Mortgage closed and never paid a $298,274 judgment it owed a former employee, nor the $3,555 it owed in unpaid taxes. Trump Steaks — Trump closed Trump Steaks due to a lack of sales while owing Buckhead Beef $715,000. Trump's Travel Site — GoTrump.com was in business for one year. Failed. Trumpnet — A telephone communication company that abandoned its trademark. Trump Tower Tampa — Trump sold his name to the developers and received $2 million. Then the project went belly-up with only $3,500 left in the company. Condo buyers sued Trump for allegedly misleading them. Trump settled and paid as little as $11,115 to buyers who had lost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Trump University or the Trump Entrepreneur Initiative — Trump staged wealth-building seminars costing up to $34,995 for mentorships that would offer students access to Trump's secrets of success. Instructors turned out to be motivational speakers sometimes with criminal records. Lawsuits and criminal investigations abound. Trump Vodka — Business failed due to a lack of sales. Trump Fragrances — Success by Trump, Empire by Trump, and Donald Trump: The Fragrances all failed due to being discontinued, perhaps as a result of few sales. Trump Mattress — Serta stopped offering a Trump-branded mattress, again likely due to slacking sales. Truth Social — This existing Trump business owes big money, and may well be breathing its last. www.publicopiniononline.com/story/opinion/columnists/2022/09/07/when-it-comes-to-business-former-president-trump-track-record-dismal/65474745007/

The mountain was officially named Denali in 2015 after years of attempts to change the name. Denali is the Native Alaskan name. McKinley the president had no connection to Alaska but Trump likes him because he imposed tariffs. The Republican controlled state legislature in Alaska asked Trump to keep the name Denali. apnews.com/article/trump-denali-mount-mckinley-alaska-2fbff88e1845e066a65cbabfa17284aeJUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — The Alaska Legislature passed a resolution Friday urging President Donald Trump to reverse course and retain the name of North America’s tallest peak as Denali rather than change it to Mount McKinley.
