You keep saying this over and over. Yet I’ve not seen one single suggestion from the president, or any report anywhere, that any of this money is going to help hungry struggling Americans. Why do you believe this money is going to be rerouted to help Americans? Where has anyone laid out a plan for redirecting this money? Exactly isn’t he cutting SNAP and Medicare? Where did he say that?

Exactly isn’t he cutting SNAP and Medicare? Where did he say that? Its Medicaid, not Medicare but didn’t you read yesterday’s budget news? Lots of pain for Americans already living on the brink. Reminder for everyone. Medicaid covers a lot of end of life, nursing home care. People better start imagining what will happen to these folks when the facility their family member is in doesn’t get paid.

You didn't actually read the bill, did you, babe? Substandard funding/funding cuts buried in a lot of unrelated requirements. Try again.

Maybe, but here the actual problem is that Republicans have no interest in helping the poor in any type of bill.

Don't worry - they'll be coming for Medicare, too. Soon enough. Medicare is interesting. The goal seems to be to transition people to private Medicare Advantage plans. So it’s more a funnel to take government money and give it to CEOs and shareholders. The current plans were already audited and found to be more expensive than traditional Medicare. Can’t imagine forcing more people into these plans will reduce the grifting. I don’t know how our unique individual will interpret “the government still pays out billions and likely more billions.” Not exactly “cuts” to the budget. However, she will find herself subject to a limited list of doctors, hospitals and procedures she can use. Caps on services, more out of pocket spending. Just like what people deal with before they age into Medicare. If only she had taken a closer look at Project 2025, the people who wrote it and the roles those people have in the administration to anticipate how much of those plans would be implemented.

I agree that congress members shouldn’t become millionaires due to lobbying and insider trading. But I don’t believe for a second that Trump will do anything about that. Especially given his executive orders in the last few days regarding donations and oversight.

And I think it's a MAGA trend, this 'ignoring' things (knowledge, rules, laws, etc.) you don't like or agree with.

Yes 63% of Americans in Nursing Homes are on Medicaid. What will happen to them all? Not everyone has an adult child that will be able to take care of them. And what about the 10 million disabled adults and children who rely on Medicaid? Why should poor, disabled and elderly people suffer while the wealthy are given tax cuts? Everyone should pay their fair share, and that doesn't seem to happen in this country. When will Republican voters understand that their party isn't interested in helping them?

I've been following. They keep saying they are exposing stuff, but they aren't SHOWING the proof. Like USAID. They said it's corrupt and wasting.... but WHAT? Show examples! They said there would be transparency... but I haven't seen it and I don't take anyone's "trust me" as proof. I want to see the actual details. You know, like the actual GAO would have to do, being a true govt agency and all... Go to DOGE.gov. The receipts are there. You mean these receipts?

The current content on the DOGE website tells me that illiterate people who don’t have horizontal thinking skills are at work there. Really — the only content are grade school level graphs and basic statistics about word count. It looks like an elementary school project by the simpleton in the class. 😹

You would think people would have a problem with rich people and corporations stealing from taxpayers. But turns out they don't. All that Tea Party schtick was something to do, entertainment, at the time.

Maybe, but here the actual problem is that Republicans have no interest in helping the poor in any type of bill. I don't think that is true at all. Facts don’t care what you think. Your guys have systematically worked to cut benefits for the poor, to defund and close public schools that serve the poor, to keep the poor from having access to healthcare, and to keep wages low and prevent unionization that gives power to working people. They have dupes like you convinced that all those programs are “waste” and “fraud” for people they believe don’t deserve the help. All while giving tax cuts to corporations and the rich. They’re not going to change now just because you think they will. ETA: just one recent example - Republican congressman says kids should work instead of getting free lunch at school. Which dovetails nicely with red states’ efforts to weaken child labor laws, don’t you think? www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna189614

All that Tea Party schtick was something to do, entertainment, at the time. And our own government. Government money is taxpayer money. Like I said, you think people would have a problem with that, but nope. One by one all the old rules, including ones going back to the 1960s and post-Great Depression are being removed. It's open season to take taxpayer, government money and give it to people like Elon. But based on your posts, you are far more concerned about aid, research and grant money that ends up in American's paychecks than in the hands of the wealthy who pay no taxes..

They are also opening more jobs every day for the poor, brown and black citizens..confirmed by Betsy DeVos.
ABC News just had a piece about where there are abortion bans, six week limits, the infant mortality rate has go up 6% vs previous rates.
