I used to listen to Paperclipping Roundtable back in the day and just stumbled on a podcast subscription and wondered if it’s worth $5 a month?

I used to listen but from what I remember, one of the women kept asking for money for surgeries and stuff and she wasn't actually sick. Something like that.
I like the woman who was a schoolteacher and talked about her study abroad trips with her high school students.
I wouldn't pay to listen.

I like the Simple Scrapper podcast. It's free. The guests are diverse. The host has an excellent speaking voice and a pleasant laugh.

Lots of threads on here about her and her issues.

I listed to a few, but it's not much crafting, more just chitchatting. This was before they went paid content only. Also, I would never support any venture that pays Traci Claiborne a penny.

She was also caught several times on the old scrap smack blog outing herself as the hate filled blogger. She would forget to log out of her Traci C account and would post nasty things.

Jennifer Wilson is the host, and she's had a variety of topics and lots of great guests. I did like Paperclipping Roundtable back in the day!

I really like the scrap gals podcast, have been listening for years. it's hosted by two scrapbookers named tiffany and tracie. it's $5/month, which is nothing, there is an episode a week so works out to like a dollar an episode. if you've never subscribed, I definitely recommend checking out the older episodes. just checked and there are 5+ episodes with ali edwards, and I also enjoyed the interviews with known scrappers like geralyn, laura wonsik, heidi swapp, jamie pate, tahzi, heba, traci reed, victoria marie, and others (search term "spotlight"). Also liked when they interviewed LSS owners, that was neat behind the scenes. They have a good mix of episode types. examples: deep diving on a topic (like a process or tool category); sharing sketch/story ideas; talking about recent news + trends in the industry; interviewing or including guests (mix of regular and known scrappers and known). The hosts have a good chemistry and often agreeably disagree, so there is a range + balance of POV/opinions - e.g. one host likes to plan and one doesn't, one host is more photo-driven and one is more story-driven, one is more artsy/mixed media and one more clean/simple. etc. they highlight and encourage differences and so in that way I think they do a good job of being inclusive, encouraging each scrapper to do what works for them.
I also love the scrapbook your way podcast and other podcasts that don't post anymore but you can listen to old episodes (life handmade, crafty ass female). Since there are really just the two podcasts active now, I'm hoping they continue because I enjoy my weekly fix. would be super bummed if either stopped, I love listening to podcasts.

I've met Tracie a couple of times. She's always been perfectly nice. Once it was at my local scrapbook store, where we both happened to pop in at the same time. Another time, long long ago, it was at a scrapbook store in her area where she was an employee and I was shopping. I think she got a bit of a bad rap from some mean girls at one point and then it morphed into the typical scrapbook gossip lore. It may be because I have a daughter with congenital heart issues and am a little sensitive about heart stuff, but it always struck me as kind of unfair, the abuse that was heaped on Tracie.

Person born with a CHD and had surgery at age 3 and am still monitored closely. She deserved every piece of crap she received. She LIED. She falsely claimed one thing about her heart monitor and then spent the money on a trip. There were many times when she slipped and caught herself and showed her true colors. She was downright mean and nasty to others. How many times have we heard "oh but they are always so nice" "oh I would have never thought" "They were also kind and respectful to me" when it comes to horrible people or people who do bad things? You can front one personality and be another.

I was there at the time and am aware. Watched it all go down. Watched the viciousness, the fat shaming, the comments about her husband compared to her. Some are still visible here. They did not age well. I've been around a very, very long time. I never bought into most of the lore about Tracie. I also don't care even if it's 100% true. Is she everyone's cup of tea? Clearly not. People can make up their own minds on what they want to support. I did just go look at her IG and she seems to be living her best life and has worked hard to overcome significant health challenges. I haven't looked at her IG in many years, if ever. I was delighted to see her overcome a major health issue and as someone who has overcome something similar, I am very happy for her and a lot of what she expressed resonated with me on a personal level.
A few people enjoy bashing Tracie when the opportunity arises. While I disagree with their positions in general, I don't know if I have ever said a word until today. Maybe I have. I honestly can't remember. But here I am today, posting another opinion that people can take, or they can leave. It truly makes no difference to me, and those who feel compelled to continue bashing Tracie over things that occurred (or didn't) literally YEARS ago certainly have much better memories about the life stories of strangers than I do--all I can offer is that I thought then, and think now, that this was no one's finest hour and that at least a few people ventured beyond the bounds of internet bitching and into downright viciousness and cruelty. I haven't seen Tracie since before the pandemic, haven't talked with her in person. We are, at best, acquaintances.

Tiffany is ok. Tracie is an ultra conservative trump humper who always waves the Christian flag.

I haven't subscribed since 2022 so I can't comment on what they are like now, but another option is to subscribe for a short period of time if you're not sure. I have had periods where I subscribed for a month or two, downloaded all the episodes I hadn't listened to, and then unsubscribed. I stopped listening overall because the shows got very repetitive, and I was no longer enjoying them.

I subscribed to Scrap Gals to check it out. I think I may have been subscribed a long time ago, but it's been years. I found a couple of interesting episodes--Laura Vegas was one. It did remind me a little of the Paperclipping Roundtable days. I miss that podcast.

I paid for the podcast for about 3 years and listened to every episode. I also followed them both on Instagram and FB. I enjoyed them immensely pre-trump. I dropped the podcast when I stopped scrapping. I was turned off by Tracie’s Instas and finally deleted her about a month ago. She has posted Insta stories supporting trump and made a post about losing followers due to her political views. She is also a anti-vaxxer. She leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

That will certainly bite her in the butt if she ever required a heart transplant. You must be vaccinated against everything to even be qualified to start the process.

I don't follow her on any social media so wasn't aware. they so purposefully keep those kinds of opinions out of the podcast and in their fb group so I'm surprised. disappointing to hear

Crafty Ass Female has started making episodes again. Her podcast is really different than others, I think. I don't always love it, but glad to see she is making some more episodes. I feel the same about Scrapbook your way, some I like, some I am not into.
I have chosen to subscribe to the Scrap Gals podcast. Like the others I listen to, I suppose I don't love every episode.
I have been around awhile too. I was not a part of the scrap smack blog stuff, and didn't "see any of that " with my own eyes.
I do remember all the paypal requests and the backtracking and stuff with all of the donation requests/trip.
I think that sometimes (not always) Tracie (like all of us) says things off the cuff that she really shouldn't say. I have offended people and I have said things that I shouldn't.
I believe that everyone should vote with their dollars. No one should support any person or business that they are not comfortable with. I do have certain businesses that I chose not to support. So, I get it.
I am not a fan of cancel culture. People change and learn and grow. Forever is a long time.
I am at this point in my life where I am choosing to spend my money for things that I enjoy. I feel like I get $5 in value and enjoy most of the episodes.

I listen to podcasts through Spotify and Crafty Ass only goes through June 2023. I’ll have to check the Apple podcast app, I’ve never paid attention to that.
