I heard about this supplement a few months back and finally decided to try it. I'm a very skeptical person and I did not have high expectations at all. I was able to find a decent amount of seemingly reliable information that shows that berberine does a decent job of regulating blood sugar which in turn leads to managing hunger. This link has a good explanation: health.clevelandclinic.org/berberine-for-insulin-resistance-weight-lossAnyway, I started taking it about 3 1/2 weeks ago and all of a sudden this past week I have realized I'm just not hungry anymore. Like a lot of folks I struggle with food addiction and I fail at diet after diet because I am just not good at feeling hungry all the time. Time will tell if berberine will actually help me lose weight but as of right now I'm eating about 2/3 of my typical portion size and still feeling uncomfortably full. I can and definitely will be reducing my portion sizes further. It's a little hard to get my brain wrapped around eating so much less. As far as side effects go I have noticed that I get mildly nauseous about 2 hours after taking the pill in the morning. I am going to switch to taking it at night and seeing if that helps. But a mild stomach ache is not a bad price to pay if it helps me get my weight under control. Is anyone else taking berberine? Do you know anyone that's used it successfully for weight loss?

Humm, perhaps that is why I have lost my appetite in the last few months. I ran out of the berberine on Wednesday and didn't purchase a refill. I will report back in a week or two.

Wondering if that's an ingredient in the infomercial I've seen on YouTube where a lady claims to make nature's four ingredient mounjaro. I haven't had the patience to watch the whole thing, but she uses lime juice and ginger.

I’ve been reading about this supplement- are you taking it with food? Everything I’ve read said to take it with food to keep from getting nauseous.

The nausea kicks in about 2 hours later. It isn't severe, just uncomfortable.

I have always taken it with food. I have not had even a hint of nausea. You said "always" so I assume that's been a little while. How is it working for you? Curious bc I never heard of it until this thread, and then I saw an ad for it on TV last night.

It seems that there haven’t really been enough studies/large enough studies to conclusively say this is either safe or effective.

The bottle I have is what I linked above and it says it is 2000 mg in each pill. I take one pill per day. However, that is not 2,000mg of just berberine in each pill since there is cinnamon in it too. The bottle shows that 2,000mg as "berberine cinnamon complex". So in short, I really have no idea.

I have already put the bottle in the recycling after removing the label, so I am not certain how long i have taken it. I took 2 per day and would guess the bottle had 100 tablets.
I found the item online and it had 120 capsules in the bottle so I have used it at least 60 days.
I have lost 2 lbs lately so perhaps it was the reason I lost weight. I eat a few slices of cheese, crackers and an apple for lunch every day. I am getting tired of that and thought the reason I lost weight was I was eating fewer cheese slices because I am tired of that being my lunch.

Perhaps TMI
Berberine made my urine very yellow and any leaking created a stain.

2 lbs in 60 days doesn't sound very effective, to be honest. My weight can vary 2 lbs in 2 days!

I've never heard of this. I looked at the site that was given and it doesn't mention anywhere that it's for weight loss or control. I would love a natural alternative to Ozempic. But because I take it for diabetes control and not just weight loss, I can't just take anything. I would want more studies on it. I'll research it and ask my doctor about it.
