I’ve never met a piece of sushi I didn’t like.
(I grew up in a home where eating fish meant frozen fish sticks.)

I've tried a few different things but don't love it. I once ate a piece of sushi and it was the foulest most disgusting thing I have ever eaten and it made me very wary

I love it. It’s hard to get decent sushi here in Munich - we’re just to far from the sea and not many Japanese people made it to Germany. There is a place not to far from us that does it really well, so we go there for a treat once in a while. When I’m home in Australia, I’ll eat it often if we’re out for lunch.

I do not like sushi. I have texture issues and spongy textures are really off-putting to me. I've tried it a few times and I was a big nope.
A funny story - We were in Japan with some friends for a couple of weeks and one night they all wanted to go to this really fancy expensive sushi restaurant. It only served sushi so I knew I was a big nope. I got McDonalds and sat in the hotel watching Bravo. I was happy as a clam and they all enjoyed their expensive sushi meal.

Love it. I didn't grow up eating it in Omaha, obviously, so I'm not sure when I first tried it. It would have been well after we moved to Houston. I actually don't like all the extra stuff like spicy mayo - I want a really nice piece of fish with just a little flavor/seasoning from the sushi chef, on a little block of slightly warm, fresh sushi rice. (That said, I'll also happily eat a tray of grocery store sushi for something quick - I'm not a snob.) Someday I'll splurge on the Omakase table at our favorite sushi place. I am an adventurous eater and would love to have a chef show me stuff I wouldn't necessarily have ordered for myself. DH hates sushi, so I'll have to find a friend who wants to splash out on that with me. Also a huge fan of ceviche, which isn't "raw" in the same way but also isn't cooked with heat. I also love ceviche. The variety of ceviche out here in California is mind blowing…the different fish they use, add-ins, different marinades and flavor profiles… There are so many things Texas does better (queso, fajitas, guacamole, margaritas) but California wins ceviche. I believe you. I had the best ceviche of my life in Colombia, where it's modeled on Peruvian ceviche (the original). Cevicherias are all over the place in Bogota. Never had anything here that comes close.

I never tried it until we went to Malaysia in my 30s, then moved to Singapore where it became pretty much my favourite food. Sushi in the UK is not the same, but I still like it.

I have been eating sushi since 1986 and have gone months without it and then eating it regularly. I am a big fan of it but only the stuff I want to eat. I am not Epicurious. I am epitimid. Tell me about yourself and have you developed a taste for the raw fish cuisine of Japan! I like it but a big NO to raw

It's just OK to me, not something I really like, but will eat if that's on the menu.
DS really likes it, so it was usually the highlight of Daddy-Son dates when he was at home, and I got to avoid it!

I love it! But the simpler the better. My go-to is either a sushi combo or a sushi & sashimi combo so I can get a nice mixture (especially when its just tunas & salmons.) When I've tried a piece of "fancy" rolls, I've enjoyed them, but I just prefer my nigiri sushi. I've never had it outside of the Midwest, but what my favorite places serve are pretty good (but I'll skip the grocery store sushi, definitely not as good as the restaurants).

The only kind I like is Sushi with the meat cooked. I will not eat any kind of raw meat. HEB has a San Antonio roll that I love. It's spicy and has avocado.

big yuck. I wanna like, I think it's supercool. I just hate the way it tastes, the seaweed wrap, the mushy insides, I don't even like the rice, if that is possible.
I don't really like uncooked fish, although I have had ceviche and enjoyed it, I have to concentrate on shaking off that it's raw fish. and if I feel the venue or whatever is remotely shady, I won't eat it.

I don’t eat raw fish (it’s a texture thing) but I love sushi rolls with cooked things. Love the rice and seaweed and crunchy vegetables inside. Seaweed salad makes it a perfect meal.

One of my favorite foods and I wish I could eat every day. Also a big fan of Peruvian ceviche and Dim Sum. I have Dim Sum at least two times a week. To me Sushi, Sashimi, Dim Sum and ceviche are perfect foods and could eat nothing else beside ice cream for the rest of my life.

we all love sushi.. except the one kid. who is close to finishing her degree in japanese!! she cooks japanese food but does not eat raw fish. we have some great places in san francisco.. I remember taking the family out for dinner at our fav place when the youngest two graduated kindergarten. the same sushi chef is still there!!!
the pieces are generous and so good!! in the early 1980's, I was sitting waiting for my plane in JFK airport. I got talking to some businessmen about food in sf and they knew the japanese place we always go to!!.. it is out in the western outer neighborhoods.. so not in the main stream tourist places. my japanese cousin thought it was a great place.
that street also has three of the best dumpling places in the city.

I would eat sushi every day if I could afford it. I would love to go to Japan and have authentic fresh sushi. I would eat anything they throw down in front of me. I want to spend the $200 a person to do the omakase tasting menu at the restaurant in town. The chef has been nominated for the James Beard and gets flown around the country to do tasting menus.

I cannot eat it. I have tried, but…no. This is me. I have friends who love sushi, and we used to have a fantastic restaurant here that offered a great lunch special bento box featuring sushi (them) or extra tempura (me) win win!

I've only ever had California rolls, and they were ok i was with my daughter and son in law.. I don't have any intention of eating raw fish, or any meat raw, and likely won't ever go seeking out sushi. But those were ok

I am immunocompromised so I do not eat any raw sushi, but I love a good fully cooked California or Philadelphia roll.

I like sushi, but mainly the rolls. If I eat raw fish I need the rice wrapped around it. No sashimi, but I haven't had it in a while, so maybe I should try it again. My favorite rolls are spider and dragon. I just love soft-shelled crab and tempura shrimp, so those two rolls are my jam. Both are cooked. I like eel, too, which is also cooked. I will eat raw tuna in tuna and spicy tuna rolls. I used to like salmon, and then I saw photos of the parasite issue and now I'm grossed out. I do like cooked salmon, though, so evidently I like my parasites cooked. Cream cheese does not belong in sushi. It just seems so wrong. Even spicy mayo is suspicious. I love pickled ginger and wasabi (which in the US is just horseradish) I was craving sushi last night and door dashed it. So yes, I get sushi cravings.

I love sushi (but truth be told, I love poke even more). One of my favorite rolls is a veggie roll from a local place with asparagus, carrot, green onion, shishito pepper, avocado, and topped with jalapeño and lemon slices. Sounds like Deli Sushi? We love that place and wish they would open one in North County. Also a huge fan of ceviche, which isn't "raw" in the same way but also isn't cooked with heat. It would have been in the mid-late 80s when I first had sushi. A friend's girlfriend was half Japanese and taught us how to make sushi rice and our own rolls. Yes, sushi deli! That’s our go to when my friends from childhood come back to visit during the holidays. Best happy hour sushi in San Diego.

It is okay. I can no longer eat it due to allergies but the few times I went it was okay. I wasn't like ew but I wasn't like this is the best thing ever.
I do however love Mahi Mahi and Halibut steamed or baked with lemon. Mmmmm
