Happy weekend to all of you! Last week seemed like a whole entire month here. I'm so looking forward to some warmer weather. I can't wait to start my patio gardening again this year. I'd like new patio cushions, and a new outdoor rug for the deck as well. It's fun to dream about what that looks like, then there's the fun of putting it together. I'm thinking about changing colors, I'd love some bright yellow patterned cushions this year. I think. Hmmm, maybe just yellow as an accent color? I need to look at Pinterest (anyone still do that?) to get some ideas. How was your week? Was it as long as mine? What's going on today, this week? Any fun plans, any scrapping in your day?

We’re in the city today as we dropped DD off for orienteering and it doesn’t make sense to do the round trip twice
Breakfast at Cracker Barrel and then browsing thrift stores I think

My son has temporarily moved in with me and my grandson (his kid) for a new job here in Minnesota. It will be awesome to let him do the parent meetings, LOL. I'll have a lot more free time, although I suppose I'll have to feed him.
Today I am spending the day in my craft room. I'm not leaving the house! It's been a very busy week.

Crafting this morning. Pedi and groceries in the afternoon, I think.
I think maybe winter is sort of the opposite of early parenthood. They say the days are shorter, but the weeks sure do seem loooooooong!

I agree it was a long week. Not my favorite. We could also do with some new cushions for our back deck furniture. How do you find them and then how do you find ones to fit your particular configuration? Do I need to buy foam and make them? That seems kind of daunting, as I assume I would need to make them with zippers so I can remove and wash them. I know the foam is super pricey, or can be. Also, I haven't used a sewing machine in many, many years. I do have one, though. Yup, talked myself right out of making them. I am honestly at a loss as to how to work out buying them. I'm off to keep the laundry moving and get a second cup of coffee, and then I'm headed upstairs to my Scrap Attic. I have a lot to do today. Yesterday I went to the scrapbook store and bought many things, mostly paper, mostly 49 & Market, I think. I'll of course need to fondle it some more and then get it put away. I really liked the Toddler Time in person, so I bought a ton of it. Also, I now have new tiny people in my life whose stuff will need to be documented, and I have very few theme-specific items for kids anymore. I'm actually not sure I ever really did. I am not super theme-y but a little is good.

wordfish I usually look at both Lowe's and Home Depot first to see what my choices are. I have a loveseat, two chairs (well 6 if I do all three porches), and a rocker. It's pricey to replace all of them at once (which I'll want to do, because no way am I patient enough to wait, lol) so I need to make sure that they are "the perfect cushions" when I buy them. Sometimes WM has some decent cushions, but they never feel as poofy to me.

Sunday: Working today. This past week, didn't do as much scrapbooking....did a lot of reading.
Lacking sleep. Haven't had time to have a nap. Plan to sleep in tomorrow, day off. Some days (like today), I really hate my alarm clock.

Not a scrappy day here today - housework this morning including cleaning my oven (yay) and working on genealogy this afternoon, trying to make a dent in my to-do files. DH came home sick at lunch so it's helpful to have a quiet activity as he's napping in the living room and I don't want to disturb him

Hello friends!
I am not scrapping today either. Scouty has another sore on his arm (but it's NOT in the exact same spot as before) and we are headed back to the vet if they can get us in today. I am not sure what's going on with him, but we are apparently missing something that is causing him troubles. It kinda looks like a staph infection today so Im not sure what's going on. Meanwhile I am washing all his bedding and clothing in super hot water just to make sure if it's something that will spread, that it dies.
It is a beautiful day here. The high is supposed to be 70 and I just love that! I've got my doors and windows opened and it just makes me so happy. I had lunch with my best friend so that was good too. It had been a minuet since I'd seen her so we got to catch up.
DH leaves tomorrow for the rest of the week, so I am kinda sad I chose not to go with him to Vegas. While I don't love Vegas and we were there in January, being left home isn't as fun as I was thinking it would be either. LOL

mom Hoping you get answers at the vet. And I would sell my soul for alone time. Dh was planning a trip with his brother but now it's cancelled. I was planning a weekend away but that didn't work out either (my friend couldn't go because of appointments) so I thought I'd have a week alone. I think my crud has come back again, I woke up with a sore throat this morning. Monday's are meeting days, lots of talking, and by the end of the work day I have an annoying cough again.

feel better soon @quinmm14 mom - how is Scouty doing post-vet? Hey -- thanks for checking on him. He's not doing so good. Apparently he has an infection in his tooth and the vet thinks that is also whats causing his sores in his arm. We are treating him with antibiotics til Thursday and will go back and get him checked again.

February has been even LONGER than January. OMG.
My oldest got the flu a little over 2 weeks ago... and then I got it 3 or 4 days later... and then my youngest got a cold or respiratory infection (but not the flu or COVID) 5 days after that... and then my husband got sick last Wednesday. He was diagnosed with walking pneumonia this weekend and is just starting to feel a little bit better. I know he's going to want to attempt to go back to work tomorrow but I really don't think he'll be able to manage with the fatigue or the lingering cough. I work from home so I've been stuck in the house for days and days, either recovering or care-taking, and I'm so stir crazy. I did do a lot of scrapping this weekend while my husband was stuck on the couch.
We don't have a lot on the schedule for this week, besides the usual kid-related activities, but I've meal planned for the week and included some new recipes in the mix that I hope will be really delicious. I have made a lot of plans but not until next week to make sure that DH has enough time to work back up to his usual energy level. I'm the cruise director in our relationship + in our friend group so it makes me so happy to find local events or experiences that we will enjoy.

mom hope your pup is well soon. @quinmm14 hope you get to feeling better wordyphotogbabe - that is alot of sickness for one month! I just got my flu shot while in the hospital so hoping that keeps me safe. Last week was long but mostly bc I am STILL dealing with unresolved health stuff (over month now) and ended up in the ER and then admitted overnight to hospital . Bloodwork, MRI and CT Scan and still no clear explanation for lower abdominal pain. I go back to my primary doc tomorrow and have an appt Thursday with a surgeon to discuss possibly repairing an umbilical hernia (although it is small so it seems like that alone is not the issue). Has anyone ever had issue with small hernias in your abdomen or pannus/apron belly? They found a small umbilical hernia via CT scan but don't think that alone would be the issue. I noticed a few months ago my belly was looking saggy and while it is not huge, it is definitely poochy like an apron belly (looked that up this weekend), so now I am wondering if I have that + some small hernias (too small to show on a scan) and that is what is causing the abdominal strain/discomfort. When I wear compression shorts, the pain is reduced. Feels like grasping at straws but also, dang it, this pain is real and will not go away. In the meantime we bought a new recliner bc I was literally not sleeping at all bc of the pain. Thankfully in the recliner I can get in a position that minimizes the pain and have gotten some sleep the past few nights. We found it at Living Spaces online, drove over to try it out and they delivered the next day! It has been a life saver and actually looks great in our bedroom so it kind of worked out for the longer term. I have also been keeping myself distracted reading books, working on OLW and a few scrapbooking pages and doing some planning. Also taking short walks to stay moving, but I have to take it easy. So really really hoping between my 2 doc appts this week we can get some clarity on what is wrong. I am so tired of seeing doctors and not getting answers. They are all trying their best but everything keeps getting eliminated. We are also getting an AC unit replaced this week - woohoo - and otherwise getting ready for my daughter to come into town from college to take the second of her CPA exams. It will be good to see her this weekend and I am just hoping to feel well enough to enjoy her being here. Weather was super nice here in DFW today so I was able to enjoy some sunshine. Off to pick out a couple of new books to read to keep me distracted!

Oh mom , I hope Scouty recovers soon from his sores. Hopefully the antibiotics will do the trick. quinmm14 and wordyphotogbabe , I hope you feel better soon. It has been lovely and above freezing here the last few days. I was in town today, and while it was wonderful weather to walk from store to store, the ice was pretty treacherous, so that took the fun out of it. Hope to have some time to scrap Tuesday and Friday this week. Wednesday and Thursday will be busy days out and about, and I am looking forward to Saturday when we will attend Cicque de Soleil: tickets were a Christmas gift.

We had some relatively heavy rain and then a crazy wind storm last night, lots of pine trees dropping boughs on power lines. My neighbor discovered that her smart bulbs turn on automatically after a power cut - her lights went on and off every few minutes from 2-4am! ugh. I'm glad our house is dumb.
I've been looking for a nice duvet cover for my MIL's new assisted living place. I wasn't having much luck online, but boy, the brick and mortar stores had even less to choose from. We went to Home Goods, Marshalls, JCPenney, Kohls, Target, and Macy's (which I forgot was in liquidation). The mall was so depressing. Most of the stores had no duvet covers at all, only comforter sets. It's been a long time since I went shopping so I hadn't fully realized how online shopping had changed things.
Do you ever feel like you're the only person left who wants to buy certain things?

mom - how is Scouty doing? joblackford - the lights would drive me nuts doing that - non-smart bulbs here too. I feel like I've seen duvet covers at IKEA and I think Aldi had one recently in their AoS - good luck though - I don't think they ever really became mainstream on this side of the pond

I feel like I've seen duvet covers at IKEA and I think Aldi had one recently in their AoS - good luck though - I don't think they ever really became mainstream on this side of the pond Yeah, I think you’re right. IKEA is def the place with the most selection. Unfortunately we went there last week and decided we loved one that is sold out in store and for delivery. Doh! We have a couple of options online but they’re $100+ more than the IKEA one and don’t even come with pillowcases, so I was hoping to find something in the middle. I finally checked amazon (ugh) and they’re not cheap enough to roll the dice on quality. One review showed fading that was so dramatic half of the print had just disappeared! Trying to find something that we like and that would also appeal to her taste is part of the issue. A solid color would be no problem, or an old fashioned floral, but we wanted something with personality and design since she’s downsizing to 400sq ft and losing almost all of her familiar clutter.

He is on some antibiotics and hopefully tomorrow he will be ok enough to get two of his back teeth pulled. I hate he is losing them, but also thankful the infection is not into his jaw or bone. But he's not eating or even wanting snacks. But as the vet reminded me, Scouty is old and things like this do come up. I am so thankful I didn't go to Las Vegas with DH. I would be beside myself with worry.

Wednesday: The ebb and flow of life, seems to be >> busy or slow, and nothing in-between. This week is busier than usual. Work, errands, obligations, commitments, this that and the other thing. Yesterday...left home at 9:00am, got home at 10:45pm. Having to wake up earlier than usual. Longer than usual hours, out of the home....with all the things that need to be done. I need sleep.
This too, shall pass.

MIL helped us chose between a couple of nice duvet covers I found at The Company Store, and she actually chose the one we'd originally decided on. We're trying to give her easy decisions to make (where we can) since so much of this process is out of her control.
I just ordered a new bed skirt too. It's annoying that the choices seem to be $10 for a see through junky one or $100 for a good quality one. I guess there might be in-between items but I've run out of patience to try and track them down. I'm just glad I insisted on measuring the bed before I ordered anything - it was not the full size we thought, it was a queen! We just bought new queen sized sheets so at least those will work perfectly.
Hubby was on his last nerve trying to get her to an appointment today. It's like herding cats, or wrangling toddlers.

wordfish, try stores that make mattresses in your city to have cushions made. They often have foam and can make covers. Also call RV dealers. They might have contacts that make new covers for in RV’s

Thank you all for the well wishes, I'm feeling a bit better. If I could get a good night's sleep I think I'd feel like a new woman. Ended up at the doctor getting tested for flu/covid. Negative again on both. There's just a virus of some sort that keeps finding me. I have a new nasal spray to try, so fingers crossed. mom sorry about your pup, hopefully the meds help @texas Scrap I hope you get your health issues resolved soon, how miserable for you. Is this month over yet? I think there's another full moon which explains some of the craziness, lol
