No, it wouldn't be happening. Drops will continue to be lost with or without the tariffs. We have seen post after post here from Canadians and others who are not buying US goods or travelling to the US for shopping or vacation. All of that will cause people to lose their jobs. Farmers are going to be hurting as well.

There are many things that would not be happening if Biden (or Harris) were president. Canada and Greenland would not be in fear of being invaded. Ukraine wouldn’t be worried about being handed to Russia on a plate. Those of us living in Europe wouldn’t be worried about war on our continent. The US would still have friend in the world There would not be a tariff war Women, POC, LGBT+ people wouldn’t be afraid of their future
The US has royally F’d up and the repercussions will be with the entire world for decades to come

Well, he’s going to lose a bunch of his old-people voters who can’t get to the polls easily. Anyway, I don’t think he can do this on his own. Not legally, anyway.

I wonder if our National Parks are going to survive this guy. They would under Biden.. Aaron Rupar… ”Trump: "We don't need Canada's lumber. So what I'm doing is I'll be signing an executive order freeing up our forests so that we're allowed to take down trees and make a lot of money and then re-harvest trees ... we don't need anything from Canada." x.com/atrupar/status/1897751470641905806?s=61&t=j45uMgNk1i8O0YllKF58nw

Not going to happen. The courts will step in. You have way more faith in our current Supreme Court than I do. The conservative majority has failed to show any backbone on response to Trump thus far, instead giving him almost unlimited immunity

Elections are reserved to the states - so he can’t legally. But, you need someone to hold him accountable and so far no one has been willing to do so — not the Supreme Court nor Republicans at any level of government

There are many people who cannot vote in person on election day. Many have to work to keep things running. Nothing like kicking the military who will not be able to vote.. no way for all of them to get home even IF they are in the states.

I despise Trump and everyone who voted for him and my answer is who knows?
firing a bunch of feds and contractors, threatening colleges with a cut off of funds has had a documented effect on job losses. the back and forth on tariffs has caused uncertainty. the market hates uncertainty and that may effect hiring too.
So I think he is going to cause a recession and blame it on Obama and Biden (and Hunter's laptop) but honestly it's hard to know for sure.

The problem with people like trump is they don’t appreciate the “Great Outdoors”. They look at solely as something to use to make money with and could care less what’s left behind. In other words they have no problem trashing the country if they can make a dollar. Aaron Rupar… ”Trump: "What we're doing is freeing up our forests from the environmental nonsense that they put on them, where you can't cut down a tree. And we have to cut down trees in order to build the firewalls. And those trees are sold. But we're freeing it up on an emergency basis, bc Canada has been ripping us off for years." x.com/atrupar/status/1898057916923756821?s=61&t=j45uMgNk1i8O0YllKF58nw

Of course - He's always at the beach, too busy to care And he’s not even ON the beach. He’s either holed up in his private club awaiting worship or riding around in a golf cart and racking up fake golf scores.

Yes, FDIC is one of Trump & Musks targets even though drastically reducing staff won’t save money because the agency is funded by banks. www.npr.org/2025/02/27/nx-s1-5307239/fdic-jobs-bank-regulator-trump-doge-elon-muskBut the agency has been struggling with several internal problems, including staffing shortages and widespread employee complaints about a toxic culture. The FDIC says that its staffing problems have already made it harder to adequately supervise banks and reduce the risk of bank failures.
Now, those problems are getting much worse. Trump and his billionaire adviser, Elon Musk, are firing workers across agencies as they slash the size of the federal government — and hundreds of FDIC employees have already been affected.
About 170 probationary employees of the FDIC were fired this month after about 500 workers had already accepted the Trump administration's deferred resignation offer, Bloomberg reported this month. The reported cuts amount to more than 10% of the agency's workforce. The FDIC has also rescinded more than 200 job offers to new examiners, the front-line employees who monitor banks for early signs of problems, The Washington Post reported in January.

Trump and Musk-making banks less safe again. And Vought has slashed the CFPB(Consumer Financial Protection Bureau), which was started after the 2008 recession. Does anyone think that this is a good idea? Are we beginning to see why so many banks were ok with electing Trump?

Of course - He's always at the beach, too busy to care pssst, he’s at his home on the beach, mostly working, as opposed to Trump who goes to his high-priced (for the Secret Service) golf clubs almost every weekend and when did you ever complain about THAT?

Because apparently, only Democratic presidents are expected to stay in the White House 24/7/365.

Vance has already taken 2 vacations. I haven’t seen any complaints about that either. Trump has been to Mar-a-Lago 6 times already. And it’s not within driving distance. And the Secret Service is paying Trump’s companies millions of dollars for the privilege of staying there. A round trip to Palm Beach on Air Force one alone costs $2 million. Taxpayers are also footing the bill from the local sheriff’s office for additional resources including boats, a helicopter and overtime. Every time he visits, the secret service has to fly down cars. And the Coast Guard has to have a ship standing by. Not to mention his trip to New Orleans for the Super Bowl and an over priced photo op at NASCAR. Really want to cut waste? Look at what we’re spending on Trump’s personal travel. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/mar/09/trump-golf-tripsbsky.app/profile/chrisdjackson.bsky.social/post/3ljvuqel7ss26 Chris D. Jackson @chrisdjackson.bsky.social
Trump’s golf habit is bleeding taxpayers dry. His weekend golf trips have now cost $18.2 MILLION—all while he plays at his own resorts.
In just 7 weeks, he’s golfed 6 weekends straight. Americans struggle, but Trump’s living large—on your dime.

Alex Cole… ”Republicans: Biden's economy is only doing great because Trump is about to be president. Also Republicans: Trump's economy is not doing great because we are still in Biden's economy. 🤣🤣🤣” if I’m not mistaken. Since the idiot took office the DOW has lost 2,000 points. It was 43,000+ at the end of Biden’s term and just now it’s sitting at 41,000+ ”BREAKING: The Stockmarket is plunging. The DOW JONES INDUSTRIAL AVERAGE is down a staggering 1100+ points today alone. The NASDAQ is down close to 5% today alone.” You can Thank Trump.” x.com/krassenstein/status/1899175184134811865?s=61&t=j45uMgNk1i8O0YllKF58nw
