Good morning. Today is the kick off to appointment week. So far today I have had my 6 month follow up with the spine surgeon and did blood work for my upcoming appointment with my PCP. Later today I am getting my hair cut. Dinner tonight is corned beef and cabbage. I don't really care for it but my dh is super excited!! It's the little things!

I'm feeling better today ... just fatigued ... that will just take time and rest I guess! I'm not going to work this week or next ... this is a short week and next is Spring Break ... I took my mum to an appointment at the hospital very early this morning ... Then my housecleaner was here ... Now I guess I should eat something ... I have no appetite but I know I need to eat! Dinner is up in the air ... that chili looks yummy! I'm sending out healing and positive thoughts to everyone who are feeling yucky and who are facing challenges!

Good morning! I had all sorts of plans for dinner but at the moment, I am thinking of running through Arby's and getting a Reuben sandwich. That clicks all my bases for cabbage and corn beef. I had planned on a Guinness stew and beer bread. I got to thinking on the bread and didn't think I needed an entire loaf of bread hanging around this week. I'm adding some aches to my cold. So, I'll be underneath my blankies today. Dh will fend for himself for dinner. I think he still has green bean chicken.
My voice lessons are back on Mondays, but today I'm skipping as I'm resting my singing voice.
Hate to hear you are adding more symptoms. Take care. And it's ok to skip a lesson. Rest your voice and your body. It's nasty out and AquaFit is canceled. This afternoon I have my final appointment to fine tune my hearing aids. I know that is a bummer for you on canceling. And good to hear that your aids are working even when you think they are not. And you reminded me I have a bottle of Bailey's in the back of the fridge. I also have some ice cream. Maybe I will make a milkshake. Even though I have a weigh-in tomorrow at the doctor's so maybe not a milkshake. jeremysgirl I love that you take your friend duty to heart. What a good thing to have. sueg what a good family support system you all have. And your granddaughters are adorable. We've had a call with an elder law attorney and have a meeting this afternoon with a VA group to talk about care options for the parents. Lots of good information to consider and things we need to know moving forward. My brother's dinner was fun. Lots of family came and we just had a nice time. Sometimes, it's good to get away from the day to day grind that we're dealing with right now. It sounds like you are making the proper steps forward. Glad you were able to step away from it all and have a nice party atmosphere for a bit. Get some potato cakes at Arby's! They brought them back for good and I am delighted!

flanz they are not old quotes. They are from today. For whatever reason, I have noticed the board will sometimes quote posts that are from that day or a very current day before and show as older quotes. Since we don't seem to have an active admin these days, the glitches just stay glitched. I see. thanks! I didn't think you spent your time rummaging around for old quotes...it was weird.

well today was not a good day. on my last run of the day at 10:30 am.. someone ran into me on the slopes.. I was going 28 mph so it was a big hit.. she came into me on the side.. and my skis didn't come off..and were very awkward under me as I slid 20 ft down hill head first. people stopped, got my skis off and called the ski patrol and I laid there til they got there. they packed me up in a toboggan and hauled me 2000 vertical ft downhill.. dh met me, and after the paperwork, dh took me to the er. had xrays.. and consulted with doctor. a big. big bruise on the side of my thigh... maybe hyperextended my knee a bit. sent home with crutches and a plan. take it easy and ice it. so it will be 1-2 weeks before I am back on the slopes. I saw this person maybe 1/2 a second before hit.
oh well. could be so much worse. I am home on the couch now. first toboggan ride, first time ever hurt.
dinner is dinner out with my brother and a couple--I have known the guy for 55 yrs. should be fun.

well today was not a good day. on my last run of the day at 10:30 am.. someone ran into me on the slopes. Ugh, I'm so sorry. When DS was about 10, an out-of-control skier who looked like a defensive lineman, hit DS at the bottom of the hill. It flipped DS up in the air and onto his back. The ski patrol rushed him to the first-aid area and checked for broken bones ~ thankfully there were none. The skier was *interrogated* by the ski patrol and came in to apologize to DS. They really emphasized that he could have killed DS. The guy was crying and kept apologizing and DS was so embarrassed. Luckily that didn't keep him off the slopes. People don't realize how dangerous skiing can be. I am so glad you're okay.

Oh ntsf I hate this happened to you. Thank goodness nothing is broken. flanz I wondered if your chiropractor sent out his films. I hope you hear soon. sueg I could fully follow along in Italy last week during mass. I even went to confession but it was an English speaking priest. Praying for your family. Dh is still sick. It’s respiratory but his terrible dr last week decided it was acid reflux. He gets pneumonia at this time of year almost every year. Now he’s coughing like crazy and has a fever. They told him to come in. Tested him for everything-negative but the Dr wasn’t even in. He could have gone to the same day center. We were both pissed. I’ve been wanting him to switch drs for like 5 years. They gave him phenergan for the cough. It’s an off label use I guess. Of course they want him to come back Friday when the dr is back. I had jewelry and so easy dinner of blts with watermelon and pasta salad.

I supplied grade 5 for my DD today. It poured all day so no outdoor recesses…yikes!
Chicken tikka curry for dinner was yummy, no leftovers.
I didn’t sleep well last night (less than 2 hours) and I’m not back to 100% after my bout with the cold/flu virus over 2 weeks ago so after a busy teaching day I’m exhausted and will be heading to bed soon.
Hope everyone had a good Monday!

ntsf, thank goodness that you didn't break anything, but you're still injured and will miss slopes time. That sucks. Rest and take good, loving care of yourself. teddyw, did they bother to do a chest xray on your dh? @niesey, I hope that your rest tonight will help you heal even more.
