Not a theme, but I wish companies stopped assuming people scrapbook for their SO and their families - too many "our favourite moment", etc. Single people scrapbook too! Themes are great when you're looking for something special, but it's a bit outdated to me. I wish there were collection focused on characters - independent, caring, loud, etc. I'd love a collection with a modern woman in a suit drinking a Mojito, a Dad with an apron in the kitchen with his kids, etc.

Pastel summer lines with palm trees is NEVER something I would buy. As an Aussie my summers are hot and dry with not a palm tree in sight Also- and I’m sure this will be unpopular- a non pastel Easter line for us folks who have the pumpkins ripening now down under!

I haven't really scrapped a lot lately especially in themes, but I remember 'back when' knee deep in my traditional 12x12 albums, I would pull out pictures and then search for papers, usually themed towards whatever it is. I would search high and low and would never find the right theme. I would cave and use generic papers or make my own embellishments.. then to come find out.. three months later some company would put out the theme I was looking for. This must have happened at least three times.. I would get SO mad. I was always a few months ahead of whatever theme I wanted.
During Covid, I was in Branson with my mom (it must have been near the end of the pandemic since we were out and about).. and was in that cute scrapbook store.. and found tons of Covid theme paper.. I thought I hit the jackpot. LOL.. wasn't even looking for it. Have I used it? Nope.. but I have it. haha

I don't know why travel lines mostly use modes of transportation and icons like Big Ben. There is a lot more to travel than that. Where are the museums and restaurants, for example?
Restaurant and food themes seem to be totally avoided. I have tons of photos from vacations where we are in restaurants. I also have a ton of photos from when the kids were little that take place in restaurants. Where is all of the food stuff?
Like others have already said, the retro kitchen vibe just doesn't work.

This omission really surprises me given that we live in a time when people take food photos all of the time. And this is not a recent trend. People have been taking loads of food pics since cell phones included cameras, so we're talking two decades now. Speaking of which, I'd love for tea elements instead of mostly coffee. I have nothing to do with all of these travel coffee cup icons that keep turning up in my kits. Tea kettle, tea cup, tea pot, tea bags, even!

I think I mostly align with PaperAngel's comment about not being super into themed supplies. I do have them, though. I like to pop them here or there, and I really only have some travel stuff, book/office stuff, a tiny bit of Halloween, some Christmas, and recently I did recently pick up a bunch of baby/kid stuff, but it was more about the colors and how they relate to the colors in all the baby photos I have now (baby and baby shower, etc). One thing I used a lot of it for, probably at least half of what I got/had initially, was decorations for the baby shower we had for my daughter last year. It was really cute: The way my daughter announced her pregnancy to us last year was to have her sisters go to the scrapbook store and pick out a bunch of baby-themed scrapbook supplies, then come over and hand them to me. So that was the start of my collection, and that's what I used probably at least half of last year. Then I picked up a few more collections. I would have preferred just buying pieces, but they were only available in the collection form. I actually have a bit more coming to me because the colors are perfect for what I need to work on--it was more about colors and then the general iconography in the papers. Since there are three of 'em, both genders, I figure it's okay to have kind of a bunch. Plus I hope to make a bunch of cards for my daughter.

Pet lines that aren’t just dogs and cats.
I recently visited a friend who owns a couple of horses. She lives in an area where horse back riding is popular. I want to scrap the photos I took but there aren’t many choices—kids’ themed or cowboy stuff.
Other possible pet lines for people who have hamsters, birds, or various types of lizards. They don’t necessarily need large collections but a few papers and stickers would be nice.

So many! My family does not fall into neat gender-normative categories so some kits miss the mark for us. I so wish that kits were more gender-neutral. My oldest is non-binary so there's that huge gap in kits alone. My youngest is a boy but starting middle school & does not do sports so all of the cutesy "play in the dirt" kits don't work. He reads and acts and writes. My husband is 10x more domestic than I am so he's the one who cooks, bakes, knits, gardens, etc. which are all seen as "female" hobbies so those type of kits usually have really gendered wordart e.g. KNITTING QUEEN. There are not many kits for adult hobbies/fun, either, except for ones that include alcohol. I don't drink at all so Ladies Night kits that include high heels and cocktail glasses are not useful. My husband doesn't drink, either, and doesn't do sportsball so all of the male-themed kits about going to the bar, mancave, etc. don't fit. We love to go to things like museums, restaurants, plays, and bookstores. My GFs and I like to go shopping, to restaurants, to drag show brunches, to crafty places, to romance bookstores, and on road trips. I can never find kits to scrap those type of things with. Yes! All of this! Drag show brunches sounds fun. I haven’t been to Hamburger Mary’s in KC yet, but want to go. My son went for a trivia fundraiser night and had a blast.

I've long complained about this. Most of the pages I scrap from vacations are not how we get there but the things we do once we arrive. I'd also like to complain about blue being one of the go to colours in food/baking themed products. I'd much rather have red, green, orange, yellow, and even brown, which are all a much better match for the food photos I take than blue.

The law! I'm huge into watching trials. I'd love some collections that had gavels, the Scale of Justice, crime scene tape, police badges, judge robes, fingerprints, etc. Those icons could even work for law students.

I agree with those who say they are not big into themed lines, but I do like to have some themed elements here and there on occasion. That's why I like lines that have a broad theme or that keep the themed elements to only some of the items in a line.
Speaking of broad themes, as others have mentioned, more "Everyday" lines would be great. Stuff that includes the little things people might do with some regularity--and yes, I realize that would include those travel coffee cups again, LOL! But not necessarily "special events" or holidays.

There are tons of paintings of food back to the 1600s. For hundreds of years, people have made art about food. People photograph and paint what they love, and people love food. (I just got done teaching a unit on Andy Warhol and his soup cans and the kids and I discussed the history of art about food.) Cell phones have definitely made photos of food the norm, though. I took a photo of my salad last night, actually. It was a really good salad - roasted butternut squash, goat cheese, etc. It deserves a scrapbook page. There really needs to be some food themed scrapbook lines.

My husband and I love Renaissance Fairs. There have been one or two lines with a medieval or castle theme (Graphic 45, for example), which I have used. We go every year, though, and there is no way I am going to use cutesy princess papers for a RenFest, just to get variety, and it’s not like Renaissance Fairs are popular enough for scrapbook companies to come out with products for RenFest geeks like us.
I think this is one reason why AI is gaining in popularity, even among scrapbookers. You can create and print designs for the less commonly needed themes. Or if you don’t want to create your own, you can find unusual themes/designs on Etsy or Creative Fabrica for purchase. That’s what I’ve been doing.

Certain sports, like water polo/swim team and or volleyball. There really isn't much if anything out there about these. Musicals/plays/theater productions - there's very little about these (or maybe there's very little that I like). I would love a wedding line that isn't black/grey/silver or pastel colors. I still haven't scrapped my wedding because it was fall colors (reds/oranges/yellows) and all the wedding stuff out there doesn't even come close to matching. And even the sports that have a lot of options, many of them are more cutesy than I like. I’m a 51 year old woman who attends a lot of sporting events and theater productions without any children being involved. Baseball has the best selections available for us, but those all look the same. I need basketball, soccer, football! I have some old hockey items that I love that I need to use. But new would be nice.
