Happy Wednesday! Mom is doing well. Thanks for asking scrapmaven. She got a haircut yesterday and felt much better. I'll take her dinner tonight of our usual Whataburger. My dad is very happy because he found out that he qualifies for VA benefits and that should cover a home health care service which will help him with daily tasks a few days a week and take some of the load off of us. We've been stretched pretty thin over the last month. On a bad note, my BIL got Covid and we were all at his house on Sunday. I'm testing today and hopefully will be negative. I think I got the last booster so I'm hoping I'll be ok. My poor dad was there as well so I'm hoping he is healthy as well. Hope you all have a great day!

Good afternoon all I haven’t done much today - just a trip to the butcher and grocery store this morning. We’ve had more rain this afternoon and that is going to keep up for a few more days more. Tearisci - I’m glad to hear you are able to get some more help for your dad. Hopefully the dreaded C will skip over you this time! Dinner here tonight is steak - I’ll get DH to grill it when he gets home. I have some potatoes to fry and I’ll also make a mushroom sauce.

We've been stretched pretty thin over the last month. This is some really great news. I am hoping that all these changes lift some responsibility off your (and your siblings) shoulders. Things are looking up! I am going to have a slow afternoon today. I logged in at 6 this morning (it's 11 now) and I've done just about everything I need to. Been running at full steam ahead this morning. My brain has been with the program, I'm very pleased to report. I am making a chicken and sundried tomato pasta for dinner tonight. I'm going to post another post from my phone because I have a photo I want to share.

And I tested Negative so that's good news. Hopefully, the rest of the family that was there on Sunday will also test negative.

I slept poorly last night because it was so hot. I finally turned on the ceiling fan and that helped. I'm off to AquaFit this morning and have a physical with my primary care doctor this afternoon.
I love Buy Nothing on Facebook! My friend needs 22 brown paper bags to use as trash cans at the crop. She usually buys them but I told her I would ask on BN. I'm picking up over 40 this morning ~ for this crop and the next one.
Dinner will be Jalapeno Chicken.

Then I'll spend the day just puttering. Puttering is one of my fav things to do! Enjoy! My dad is very happy because he found out that he qualifies for VA benefits and that should cover a home health care service which will help him with daily tasks a few days a week and take some of the load off of us. We've been stretched pretty thin over the last month. I'm so glad to read your update! I hope none of you have the dreaded "C"! We’ve had more rain this afternoon and that is going to keep up for a few more days more. I live on a prairie where our moisture comes from snow, not rain. But it looks like it rained a bit last night. I am making a chicken and sundried tomato pasta for dinner tonight. I looooove sundried tomatoes! Recipe?

Tearisci , it feels good to read a good update about your parents. A part time caregiver for your dad will be of so much help to you and your sibs. The last thing any of you need is covid. I'll send STAY-AWAY vibes for all of you. sueg , I hope that you're able to enjoy your day while listening to the rain. jeremysgirl, it's great to read that you're doing well today. I hope this continues and that you can have fun when work is done.
leannec, Did you have your date last night? If so, how did it go?
cadoodlebug, it was too warm here, as well. I wanted to turn on the fan, but dh runs cold. When is your crop? I know it's almost here.

Well, my date last night completely bailed on me! He won tickets to the Flames game (hockey) and took his youngest kid ... I guess the thought of taking me did not even cross his mind ... loser. Good thing I keep my options open ... the last two guys have been my age and total duds ... I'm going back to younger men! I'm leaving soon to pick up my teacher friend ... we are going to Costco and will then hit Subway and come back to my place to eat ... I have a couple of "jobs" for him ... mainly helping me change my stupid duvet cover! . He doesn't mind since I drive him places sometimes ... Dinner is unknown at this time ... probably the other half of my sub!

That's a very happy photo, jeremysgirl. Dh has all seeds started and hopefully flourishing. It's great to be able to pick fresh produce out of your garden each day. leannec, there are really good men of all ages. While, I'm glad that he's spending time w/his son, he's a stinker for standing you up. There's a great guy out there, but I'm sorry that you have to kiss so many frogs. Ew.

Hi All, I've had a crazy busy week, I hosted a teambuilding training at the office on Monday and Tuesday, Today is filled with 5 calls and a company wide town hall, tomorrow is our annual company wide awards event . I'm very slowly digging out of the deep hole that being in the office creates.
I'm really just popping in to say hi and let everyone know I'm thinking of you!

Well, dh's car is up on the auction site. No bids yesterday, today we have bids of $2550 and $3000. 🤢 (the dealership would have given us $6200 had it not been for the issues last year).
We are having fish and either tots or fries, whichever I grab first. And some kind of vegetable.

Another chilly one here today. It was snowing like crazy last night as I was driving home from my supper out. Thankfully nothing stayed on the ground.
I’m getting the grandboys off the school bus this afternoon but will only be there until a parent arrives home from work.
Supper will be grilled pork chops. I will attempt to do baked potatoes in the air fryer. It will be the maiden voyage.

It's great to be able to pick fresh produce out of your garden each day. It really is the nicest thing. And those garden tomatoes? Storebought has nothing on a garden tomato.

jeremysgirl I started seeds this week too nothing is sprouting yet. I also could not find bok choy seeds anywhere local. Luke & I went to the butterfly exhibit at the conservatory. We got there at opening. My heart sank when I saw 6 buses unload elementary students as we walked to the entrance. I rushed him straight to the rainforest because I figured there would be some education for them 1st. Luckily there was. Unfortunately the children’s garden is closed til April. We went to Target for a pickup and he got a cake pop. I couldn’t sleep from 2-5 last night unfortunately. Making fish tacos tonight

I'm trying to shake my annoyance at insurance. I had a before 8 call from an unknown number, hesitated a second and decided to answer. It was my prescription insurance letting me know Otezla was being denied because it was not prescribed for an FDA approved condition. I think it is only approved for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Guess why I'm using it. I did get through to start the appeal process, which should be authorized pending confirmation from my dermatologist that I do have psoriasis, but this is a headache I don't need right now. Shredding and cleaning and deciding on whether to work on another unfinished knitting project of cross stitch will fill my time today. I get a break to meet our accountant and sign off on the taxes this afternoon. DH had eight or so different work gigs last year. I know roughly what he made, but no idea what the final tax number will be. Fingers crossed we are even or owed something. My mood has improved since DH texted asking if I wanted him to pick up Jersey Mike's for dinner. They are pledging to donate every single dollar that comes into a store today to charity.

I also could not find bok choy seeds anywhere local. I found it in the garden center of my indoor farmer's market. Elannah (I don't want to tag her because she is taking some time away) keeps telling me I need to take pictures inside of there and post them (or text her) because every time I talk about it with her she can't even believe how great it sounds. I should really do that for you guys. but this is a headache I don't need right now. I am terrible with things like this. What a pain!

I started out my day at the Magic Kingdom (Costco) and therefore dinner will be chicken pot pie. Half of it will go next door, mostly because if I kept it all, I would EAT it all. I also bought prepared Korean beef for another night. And a chicken. Even though there are still two corned beef briskets in my fridge. Lord help me. (Does anyone think I should have eaten breakfast before I went to Costco?)leannec, you did not request my opinion but here it is, anyway: that situation wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me. He didn’t stand you up or ghost you, he broke a date for (to me) a good reason, and presumably plans to reschedule. I would give him another chance. There, I’m done! jeremysgirl, wowzers on your cute baby veggies! I wish I were a competent gardener. hello, austnscrapaddict, hope to see you again soon when life calms down. taylortroop, your baked potatoes in the air fryer will be perfect. Also, a belated happy birthday to my friend ntsf … sorry, I meant to say so on Sunday. Hope it was a lovely day with great ski conditions.

Back from the doctor. The spot I figured was skin cancer turns out (in his opinion) to be pre-cancerous so he zapped it 3 times with liquid nitrogen. My cheekbone will be lovely for about 6 weeks. Better than the alternative...
He was happy to hear about my AquaFit!

well.. it is way too warm!! 60 degrees this afternoon lucyg.
my friends were sick again (last time wife, this time husband).. and so we scored more free VIP tickets to the ski races. dh went out on his ski bike for 90 minutes, while it was still firm (30 degrees).. and I hussled and went over at 8:10 am to get a good table at locale. I watched the first run of the men's giant slalom and then dh came over in time for the seconded run. it was an exercise in can you survive the course? it was the worse conditions possible other than rain for running a ski race. 3-4 didn't finish. the american racer got 8th. the top guy who won overall for the year came in 2nd. it was exciting and we could see about 1/2 of the race by looking up the hill.. the rest we watched on big screens. fab food again.
tomorrow is the big game--the slalom races featuring the greatest athlete.. Micheala Shiffrin.. she is definitely the greatest ski racer of all time..and overall a great person. we might go skiing in the morning and watch the reruns of run #1 and see on tv run #2. may rain in afternoon.
for dinner.. I am making salads and dh wants the leftover pizza. I don't know what I am eating. at the races, sitting alone, I met a couple who turns out knows my brother super well. and they had a friend a local jeweler..
so in the afternoon, I went over to the town local vendor booths. nice and sunny, few people there. bought a poster, a set of placemats and napkins, a baseball cap for my dil.. and a necklace.. I was tempted but didn't buy a hat that said "I skied the trees, B...h"..
take care you all there seems to be some good news out there. dh is going out of town for the weekend and I hope to get a lot done.
