Yep, artbabe is trying to get the board moving over her spring break. Let's talk about Reminisce (and Elle and Viv). They are so far out of the usual (Echo Park, American Crafts, etc.) aesthetic and they are really polarizing. For one, they do use photorealistic images sometimes. Some people really hate that. I don't like paper when it has a photorealistic snowman, or a large object, for instance, but if it is an allover paper that is wood grain, or leaves, or water, or stone, etc., I do like using the paper. It makes lovely mats. They do make very niche stuff, which is fun. A lot of the times we talk about themes that are neglected but Reminisce seems to want to fill the holes. The inconsistent texture (some glossy, some matte) is annoying. How do you feel about this company? Have you ever used their papers?

I have. I don't buy as much any more. One of my favourites is called Floral Bloom. I also have one that looks like alcohol ink backgrounds. And clouds. I got a really bright birthday line that I think was theirs.
I don't like the large photo-realistic images either. I don't know what to cover up.

Back in the day, Reminisce was my go-to manufacturer. They had a bunch of collections like the "Great Outdoors" collection that were perfect for the pics I was scrapping. But lately I haven't bought much from them. Last thing I bought was their photorealistic starry night sky papers to use for scrapping some of our sailing and travel photos.
Edited to add: Happy spring break, Artbabe! I hope you'll get to spend some time scrapping this weekend.

I'm not a huge fan, but I have purchased some paper and embellishments over the years. I have a lot of their older travel embellishments, the ones for specific countries.

I have never liked their paper lines and have never bought their papers or embellishments.

I am not a photo-realistic images, unless, as you mentioned, things like an all-over wood grain.
I also don't do well with really large images, especially because I am using small albums, so one image the size of a 12x12 paper is just not going to work well for me.
That being said, they do occasionally come out with a theme that I could really use, and then I try to find a way to use some of the line at least.

Reminisce is one of my favorite companies. I have used their products many times over the years. Scrapbooking products, brands, style, etc... is >> "to each, their own". What one person loves, another may not like at all. Everyone use whatever they like, and everybody is happy.

I bought the hot cocoa line from a LSS because DS loooooves s'mores and the Wonka movie. I have yet to use it, but there's no reason, just haven't gotten around to it yet. It's photorealistic, but I'm determined to make it work. It's also not glossy.
I bought paper from one of their rock lines, to document a concert and I hate the weird paper weight and gloss... but it's mostly black and has a guitar on it which fits the concert I was at...
I guess it's hit or miss with me.

Reminisce is hit or miss for me (usually a miss as I'm not a photo-realistic girlie). I especially dislike never knowing whether or not the paper will be glossy. A few papers here and there from them have suited my purpose so I don't write them off completely.

I've been happy with and have used the few lines I've bought but I don't buy it often. I do LOVE that they cover themes that aren't well covered but sometimes their approach is a miss with me - I've been leaning away from theme scrapping a bit more lately too...

I don't think I've ever bought any of their lines. The style overall is not one I gravitate to, and with so many peas noting some of their papers are glossy I've never really wanted to take the risk. If I saw them in person, or they released a line I felt I really had to have, I might feel differently, but for now I'll continue to look at their releases and just enjoy whatever everyone else makes with them.

While I appreciate the company's contribution to the industry, I don't gravitate toward photorealistic, scene, or heavily themed papers/embellishments, &/or the possibly of receiving glossy/shiny finished papers. Therefore, I do not (& never have) purchase(d)/use(d) supplies from Reminisce.

Very occasionally I’ll buy a sheet here and there for a specific theme - sports for example -but not generally

I rarely buy it, because I don't care for shiny or photorealistic paper. I do once in a while buy a theme. Have a great spring break, artbabe!
