Hi, I am looking for a tall white cabinet with 7-9 drawers that fits 12x12 paper/kit/whatever inside each drawer. I have the Kallax shelving unit along one wall, but need something like this for Christmas kits and items. I thought I had found one and ordered from Home Depot but the drawer capacity ended up too small even though it was described in the measurements as larger. Stuck returning that now. I have searched and even looked at Ikea, but I am not sure which to purchase. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I do have two of the IRIS ones already that fit 12x12 with wheels, but was hoping for one of these to have a cleaner look. Thank you for any help!

I looked at that but it says in the questions and answers that the interior dimensions are approximate 11 x 16 1/2. That’s the problem I had with Home Depot one after we received it. It was much smaller inside thedrawers. Thank you for trying to help me Linda!

Have you checked Michaels? They have several sizes of white storage cubes and drawer units.

That is what I did at first also. Thank you for looking for me though. I am hoping somebody has one to recommend. If not, I will stick with the Iris ones- just wanted some drawers instead. I do love my Iris ones and have them all super organized by vacation, birthdays, Christmas, etc.

I may go in person. I think that would be better. I do have some 12 x 12 paper storage cubby holders from there from years ago and they have held up super nice. I still use them along the side of my Kallax wall.

You could get 2 of the wide Ikea Alex drawers and leave the wheels off and stack them on top of each other. Or they could go side-by-side if you have the floor space. The drawers are larger than 12 x 12, but I think there's 6 in 1 unit, that's why I suggested 2. www.ikea.com/us/en/p/alex-drawer-unit-on-casters-white-80485423/

Would something like this work? link. You do have to purchase the drawers separately so it may be more then you want to spend.

I didn’t know Kallax had a 4 drawer insert. I have the 2 shelf insert but have that for the Kallax I use as a TV stand. Hmmm.

That just may be the route I should go - I did not even think of this. I have those inserts for my Kallax wall and use and love them. I just have this one wall, and it would be so good to have all my Christmas items in their together is why I am looking. Thank you for suggesting! I appreciate your help!

I actually like both these ideas. And, the Billy Bookcase that you have - the Iris cases you have in them are they the ones that hold 12x12 paper? Because I have a those and the carts to hold them but really like the Billy Bookcase idea for these. How many Iris' does your Billy Bookcase hold? The cabinet with drawers at Michaels stacked would work. Weird I could not find this yesterday and it has so many reviews also and they say drawers fit 12x12 paper. I think I am going to order these now. Thank you so much for your help!

They stick out about 3” from the shelf. I’d say that the shelf would hold about 20+ containers. I know I bought an extra shelf or two. I have 4 on each shelf, but am only using the lower shelves for them. I’ll try to find a photo.

Here is the shelf. I hope it helps. This would work for me also. I have this small wall at the end of the closet and this would be awesome to have them all in one place, instead of the two rolling carts they come in, plus I have some extras just piled that will fit. And the shelf is an awesome price too. I went to Michaels last night because they said they had 4 of those cabinets with drawers in stock and then said they did not have any when I got there. smh So, I ordered them and they will be here the 9th. Thank you for sharing your ideas with me. Much Much appreciated.

If you don't need it to look polished I use these in my craft room closet. www.ikea.com/us/en/p/ivar-shelf-unit-pine-s39407070/I took off the wheels from an iris rolling organizer and put the whole thing on the shelf. I like that the organizer makes it so that I can take out one iris case with out having to move unstack others. I have too many and store the others 3 high and 2 across on the shelf. There are different heights and widths so pick the one that fits your closet. I choose the maximum height, dept and width that would fit in my closet (took out all the builder grade shelves/poles). It is so much more functional. It would really bother me to have them hanging over the edge if I was buying something specifically to store the iris containers.

I won’t really have use of my closet even though it’s big in my scrapbook room and goes along one wall because I’m going to let my grandsons keep their Legos in there and we’re building a desk across it and shelves up above it. Though I am going to look further into the shelf you sent from IKEA! Thank you for your input and help! ☺️

justlisa7 We have a closet we did this with, took the doors off and have a shelf with a desk surface. Love it, it looks especially sharp because we used a slightly darker paint color in there and with the white molding around the door it makes it stand out. If you have any questions about the utilitarian pine shelves let me know. If you don’t have an Ikea near you, look for a Container Store to see it in person. These are the shelves that hold their inventory throughout the store. They used to sell it (called Skandia) that’s where I purchased it. But they no longer do. It looks exactly like the IKEA product so I’m wondering if the manufacturer is the same. I currently have it in my craft room, it used to be in our huge office, purchased most of it between 1999 & 2003. It’s still in excellent condition, except for my desktop. (Though it would be a super easy fix to sand and give a protective coat). Very versatile and easy to change around to meet my needs. However, it is pine which is soft so I have a few dings especially on my desktop. Not terrible, but if that kind of thing bothers you I might steer clear. Also, when purchased a beautiful white pine, but as it’s aged and been exposed to light it has darkened and yellowed. Unevenly in circumstances where something was blocking it for a good amount of time. Anyway, I have tons of experience with it so please feel free to contact with with specific questions!

Totally understand pine and plan on using pine anyways - it is soft but good wood still. Thank you for your help! We have the white border around the closet also and thanks for the idea of a different color to make it pop more. IKEA and the container store are actually almost across the street from each other and only about 30 minutes from my house. So that is cool. What did you use your closet for?
