The Impact ProjectIn case you want some info on how current policies impact your local areas. My Dad likes to tell me that since he's been alive "all of the politicians are the same, their policies don't impact me and never have for over 60 years". Welp. Buckle up, Buttercup.

I will have to take a look at it... my DH (who STILL thinks Reagan was the best President ever  ) was complaining last night about the abysmal interest accrued in February on our money market account. I *really* wanted to say 'well, you're getting what you voted for' but I settled for "the market doesn't like uncertainty- tariffs on one day, off the next..." and then it devolved into an argument so I shut up. |

Girl, same. My DH didn't vote for Trump but also wouldn't vote for Harris (I gather he went 3rd party) so when he opens his 401(k) statement and sighs, it takes all of my willpower not to say, "Well, that's what you voted for!" |

ETA: stock market dates back to the late 1700s.

My DH also did not vote Dem or Rep. We can not discuss anything. He refuses to believe what I am sharing…sources. I will not tell him a source I cannot remember. Also, will not share if it isn’t from a better news source…the Atlantic, NPR, U.S.A. Today, Rolling Stone. If it isn’t on the evening news, it hasn’t happened.
He will not respond when I ask him if he has ever heard the evening news ever criticize the FF.
Living in a deep red state is getting interesting. TPTB have been licking RFK Jr’s boots. Ivermectin, no script from pharmacies. They are outlawing certain dyes from foods. This may not be bad; but, trusting the judgement coming from Charleston is not something I can muster.

It isn’t much of a leap that all the conversations people had about last night’s show, sports event, movie has morphed into right wing ranting. So people don’t have to consume it directly. |

We did watch ABC World News Tonight, who was reporting full bore on the negative effects of the tariffs. He was uncharacteristically quiet. He doesn’t watch much RW programming, at least he says he doesn’t - and won’t when I’m in the house - but I know he gets a lot of his info from the bunch he has coffee with a few mornings a week at the local feed store. I do let a mild comment or two fly, but usually my tongue is sore from biting it, as I hate arguing. |
