I saw a fabric online today that reminded me of mine. It was a lilac floral/trellis print on cotton, and it was very pretty. It was a 28AA, and it was a little bit too big when I got it. đ

I remember being embarrassed to go to the store and look at them and then to hate wearing it. It was plain white with a small pink rosette in between the cups. No clue what size it was though.

Hahaha sort of, I know it was white with soft cups, nothing special. I can't remember if it was AA or AAA. Probably the latter.
I remember I only got it because all the other girls did and I was starting to feel self-conscious. Also I think we all went through that phase with tender nipples, before the breasts actually came in. Mine never really fully came in to what I would have considered fair--I was an A until I finally gained some weight. I don't think I was truly a B until pregnancy/after my first child. My mom was also an A cup. I never wanted giant breasts but a nice C would have been lovely.
I found it ironic that I would develop breast cancer of all the cancers available. My body chose the least likely cancer I could ever have imagined since I had a lifetime of barely any breasts! (Obviously I know size doesn't matter in your odds, but it did feel incredibly unfair)

I dont specifically remember it, but I know I got it after a girl in my 5th grade class told me I should wear one. I was a B cup when I got my first bra. Those things popped out FAST.

Yes! It was boring, no underwire and clasped in the front. Probably from Macys lol.
Iâm pretty sure it was a 34B (which means I waited way too long to get one haha). I stayed wearing that same size my entire life until I finally went and got refitted a few years ago and find out Iâm actually 32d - WTH.

Yes! It was called Dici⊠I still remember the song from the TV ads and I just found it on YouTube. Weird name for a bra. âLet it be DIci, Dici or nothing!â đ€Ł youtu.be/oJMfc7sxYug?si=rJw6gED2mwQe0seS

I don't recall what it looked like, but I certainly remember getting it. My mum was actually a bra consultant with a lingerie company, so she bought me my first bra, before I really needed or wanted one. She got me to put it on, then called my dad in to see. Ugh, I was so embarrassed. I really didn't want to have to wear a bra. My best friend, on the other hand, couldn't wait... In Grade 6 she used to stick her little chest out and ask me "Can you see them, can you see them?"

I just remember one of my first days wearing it to school and it felt so tight and weird. I took my backpack into the bathroom and took my bra off and put it in an inside zippered pocket.

I don't even remember my last one! erm, I think it was a white cotton one and I have no idea of the size. I do remember two knee length slips with bra cups, one blue colour with white lace and the other was yellow. I felt very grown up in them!

I don't remember the exact bra. I think it had a flower on it. I couldn't wait to get it. Especially after spending hours and hours in the woods, doing the "I must, I must, I must increase my bust" exercise from the Judy Bloom book.

I certainly do. My neighbor friend was one grade younger than me and she had gotten one. Iâm guessing 7 or 8th grade. I begged for one and I was told no, that I didnât *need* one. Which, technically was true. I was always very thin. But I sure wanted one. And I was going to get one.
My friend had gotten her bra at our local department store. So, I called them up and ordered myself one. This would have been around 1962. Iâm sure I came up with some reason why I needed the money from my mother, so I could pay the delivery person. It was in the summer and my friend and I got the biggest kick out of this big box truck from the dept store delivering this tiny little package to my house. We lived 10 miles or so from the city. I donât remember when or how I finally told my parents what I had done. But they would have not been the least bit surprised, as I was quite my own advocate.

I really didn't want to have to wear a bra. My best friend, on the other hand, couldn't wait... In Grade 6 she used to stick her little chest out and ask me "Can you see them, can you see them?"   đ I started my period and then needed a bra in grade 6 and I was totally embarrassed. I had this thick brown sweater that I wore all the time, even if it was warm out, just to hide the fact that I was wearing a bra. I was so shy and self conscious. By grades 7 and 8 I had a few friends that still hadnât started their periods and they were so impatient for it and I was like âWhy?!!â đ©đ€Ł

Yes. I was the 4th daughter and my mother purchased a 34B for every one's first bra.

I remember my MIL telling me that her grandmother had made her first bras...MIL was born in 1935 so this was probably during WW2

I don't remember it, but I got it in second grade. My best friend and I had the habit of going over to an older teenage girl's house after school, because our parents forbade it. My best friend broke the news, the older teenage girl said, "Let's see it!". I pulled up my shirt and she exclaimed, "That's no training bra!"

7th grade, it was a training bra and with nothing to hold it in place it did not stay put.

I was in 8th grade. Back then (1962) they didn't have training bras. Once you started developing, you got your first bra. At least that was my experience.

No. I was in 5th grade and didnât want a bra. But I was a B cup, so I needed one. I do remember how uncomfortable it was though.

My first bra was a 32C racer back with wires. I popped out from nothing and tried so hard to hide it. I was soooo embarrassed. My mom is president of the not even itty bitty titty club and here I was in a HUGE size. Little did I know, I'd be wearing a 32H at almost 51 years old. LOL My mom made ALL my formal dresses because I could never find any to fit me. It was horrible. AND I think my 13yo is headed down my same path. She's in a 32D already. I feel so bad for her but she has a ROCKIN bod! Zee my mom had breast cancer too. Thankfully she's been cured for over 10 years at this point.

I donât remember it but I remember getting it. I was so embarrassed telling my mom I thought I needed one. I went to a public school for the first time in 8th grade where they had an actual gym class that we had to change out for. I had zero boobs at that point but there was no way I was going to change out in a locker room full of girls I didnât know without a bra on. Also because I no longer had to wear school uniforms, my mom bought me school clothes including a thin cotton dressy shirt that was somewhat sheer and I really didnât want to wear that thing without something else on underneath!

I donât remember the actual bra, but I know why I got one. It was the 6th grade, and we were having a water balloon fight. I was wearing a light colored t-shirt and I guess I was âshowingâ through the wet shirt. I wasnât even aware, I was just having fun. But my mom saw, and I got a bra pretty soon after that.

Mine was a plain white cotton one from C&A, I didn't need it and was mortified when my brothers found out I was wearing it and thought twanging the straps was the height of comedy!

No, only that I marched out to the front porch in front of my step brother and his friend and exclaimed "nobody better pop my bra strap!"
