Sound of Silence Simon and Garfunkel Cover done by Disturbed. Love this, gives me chills. Everybody and their best friend’s dog have covered Tears for Fears “Mad World” and it needs to stop. I heard one recently that I fell in love with and didn’t even realize was a cover it was so different. “Simply the Best” Original ~ Tina Turner Cover ~ Billianne

Another is Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. I like hearing KD Lang sing it. Killing me Softly - Roberta Flack. I also like the Fugees version. I love that rendition as well as the one by Jeff Buckley. His brings me to tears.

Johnny Cash did a cover of Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus” that I love. Both versions are fantastic. I turned into a puddle when the lead actress in Coda sang Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now” at her audition.

The inspirational song that I love that has been done by everyone is Will the Circle Be Unbroken. So so many cool versions of this song. Here are some of my favorite in no particular order.
The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (obviously 😉) Jennifer Nettles and Kevin Bacon Gregg Allman Old Crow Medicine Show (live at the Ryman) The version from the All My Friends Celebrating the Songs and Voice of Gregg Allman The version on Mavis Staples I’ll Take You There An All-Star Concert Celebration From Jerry Lee Lewis - Mean Old Man The Neville Brothers

Johnny Cash’s cover of NIN Hurt is arguably the best cover of all time. In my humble opinion of course.

The obvious one to me is Fast Car, originally written and performed by Tracy Chapman, with an amazing cover by Luke Combs.Another favorite for me is Hand in My Pocket by Alanis Morisette, covered by Imagine Dragons. I’m sooooo sick of that one, mostly because they have played it to death on the radio. In general, I’m not a fan of covers.

Ring of Fire, by Johnny Cash Remade by Wall of Voodoo. I know there are a lot of remakes of this song, but this one is by far my favorite. The remake has a sinister sound. I just came here to say Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash, and cover by Social Distortion. I'll have to check out the Wall of Voodoo version.

I love the Killers' version of Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits. I also love Sixouxie's version of Dear Prudence.

I've always enjoyed Gary Jules' cover of "Mad World" (sorry, dewryce). I didn't know it was her the first time I heard it, but Beyonce did a nice rendition of The Beatles' "Blackbird."

There’s a male singer from Australia ( I can’t think of his name and Google isn’t being helpful right now) who does an acoustic guitar version of Sam Brown’s Stop that is phenomenal. Paul Dempsey, from Something for Kate, did a version years ago. Not sure if that's the one you're talking about. And co-incidentally, I saw him perform at a music festival two weeks ago - he didn't sing that song though! Yes! That’s him. I’ve seen some clips on YouTube of covers he’s done. They’re all good, but Stop is my favorite
