I am over aged 60 and retired and am looking for ways to connect socially with other women. I already volunteer for several non-profits, but am looking for a social outlet. I do not nor have I really had a friends group outside of coworkers.
What clubs/groups do you belong to that fulfill that for you?

My church has a social group for retired members. It meets on 2 Wednesdays per month. We share lunch and then some just talk and some play the domino game Mexican Train.

Yes, I belong to a wine club with other women. I am also thinking of looking for a book club to join once summer is over.

I am in a group called Sassy Sisters. It’s for women 55+, some are retired and some aren’t. We go out to eat, to movies, whatever.i have made some really good friends. I had a couple of the gals go with me to Costco to pick out new glasses frames.

I belong to Girl Scout Alumnae group--we do social events, have a camp weekend, and provide volunteers.. for troops and events.. sort of on an as needed basis. we also put on some events for girls.. like holiday crafting for older girls. its lots of fun and being a former GS is not a requirement. all ages belong.

I belong to a Newcomer's group in my community. Some ladies have been members for 30+ so it's not just for newcomer's. There are about 350 members. We have 30+ activity groups within our club so there is something going on every day. Cards, games, movies, golf, walking, hiking, pickle ball, bocce ball, etc. Also monthly luncheons. See if you community has such a group.

I participate in the Senior Citizen Center for my county. We have lunch, regular game days, and special events. One Monday a month is a movie after lunch. Tuesday is chair yoga, Wednesday is team trivia followed by a sing along. Thursday is bingo. Friday is a table top game... like domino train, scrabble, yahtzee. Last month we had a Mardi Gras theme with a contest for people who wanted to craft a parade "float" (shoe box size) This month we had a "paint and sip" paint party. Next month we are having a Derby party with mint juleps and a Derby hat contest for that want to show off their derby hats. Some of the women like to get together to do things outside of the center like shopping or checking out new restaurants, going to local hot spots for entertainment together. There is also information posted there are local activities we might find fun that isn't directly center related. There are often volunteers needed opportunities (I've been helping a tax preparer today) MO has a way for low income people over 65 or disabled to get tax refunds on state property taxes. I helped make sure they had all the documents they needed and a cover sheet with information the tax preparer needed. So a chance to talk to and help people.

I belong to a photo club that meets formally every second week and some of us go out for drinks and appetizers after. Between meetings small groups get together informally for photo outings. Many great friendships have been made.
