Hello everyone! Today will be an interesting day ... I have an in person meeting at 11:30 am with the Calgary Stampede to confirm that I will be working there this year! I will be supervising a group of teens and young adults at the gates where people enter and exit the park ... if there is anything I am qualified for, it is supervising! The only downside to the job is that I have to wear jeans ... I hate jeans ... I'll hunt out the most comfortable ones this week ... Then I'm meeting a girlfriend at 2pm for a late lunch at a fav restaurant ... considering ordering something big so that I will have rechauffe for dinner! No plans tonight but that could always change! I hope that everyone's physical and mental health today is improving ... I have many mental diagnoses related to my past and I also had severe PPD after each birth so I know what it is like to go down that black hole! It's been warm and sunny all week here but things are supposed to change today ... rain and even possibly some light snow ... grrrrr! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I dry everything on "medium" ... I will run it twice if the load is too big and things need more time ... I certainly don't want anything "medium rare"! How is everyone feeling today? What is the weather like for you? What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

Good morning! I woke up to snow this morning and wasn’t thrilled but I don’t have to leave the house today.
Dinner is corn chowder with lots of bacon and a chicken salad sandwich for me. Ds says he doesn’t like mayonnaise but eats it in tuna sandwiches so I’m hoping he’ll try chicken salad, but who knows!
I’m scrapbooking right now. I have found that my attention span is very short lately so I don’t know how long I’ll last.

Happy Saturday! leannec Wow, that sounds like an interesting job. How long does the Stampede run for? My cleaners are here and my house smells so good. I would just love to stay home but I've got a massage and I'm hoping I don't end up with the same person as last time. It was more torture than relaxing. Later this afternoon, I'll take my dad to see my mom. She sounded good when I talked to her today and it seems like she's settling in well. I think my sister is planning on taking her to church tomorrow which will be good for her to see her friends. I'll take my dad to our local Italian place for dinner. I hate to cook on cleaning day. Hope you all have a great day!

leannec, I can't wear regular jeans. So, I found stetchy jeans that look like a normal pair of jeans, but they expand a lot. When I'm having a flare I look 9 months pg. That's not an exaggeration. I don't wear fitted anything. You're perfect for the job and it sounds like fun. Enjoy today and have a yummy lunch, whatever you decide to order. KelleeM, just do the best you can. We're here w/you. It's good to see you here, scrappintoee. I always miss you on the thread. We're getting our new appliances today. We went w/a smaller fridge, since it's just the two of us and sometimes ods. I hope it'll be big enough. We needed something smaller, so that when you walk into the kitchen you won't see a huge stainless thing. If I'm up to it tmw I will bake cookies in my new oven. Possibly today, but I doubt it and it depends when my appliances arrive. I'm about to attempt to knit my first pair of socks. I anticipate a lot of problems. So, I will be flying over to sueg's living room for help. I wish. I've been really tired lately, so I don't think I'll be doing much more than reloading my fridge and scrubbing behind the appliances when they are hauled away. Dh will do the heavy scrubbing, if necessary. I hope to find some fun today, but I'm awfully tired. I hope that it's a happier weekend for everyone. quiltz, how are you doing? I'm thinking of you and your sweet Cassie. christine58, how are you? I'm thinking of your great nephew and his parents, as well as you. jeremysgirl, you're in my thoughts this weeeknd as you think of your precious Esther. May all 3 of you find peace and comfort right now. I'm grateful for being able to have new appliances when so many people are w/o food or housing. In my own way, I hope to give back. I'm blessed w/abundance is so many areas and I don't just mean stuff. Enjoy today tribe. Relax, play and find a reason to be grateful.

leannec, I completely forgot to ask about your possible hernia and your foot. What did the doctor say?

I'm hoping it turns up before we go to her appointment on Tuesday. I just don't have a lot of faith because it's so tiny and she moved quite a ways from her old room.

Good evening all Another lovely sunny day here - we’re making the most of it as the weather is meant to turn on Thursday and Easter weekend will likely be cold and rainy. We did a big grocery shop this morning as I’m working school vacation problem Monday to Thursday and will be tired and latish home. This way, I should only have to pick up fresh vegetables during the week. After we got home, the girls called to say hi. Lucia was much more talkative than usual, but disappeared after showing us her new Minnie Mouse dress, as she remembered she wanted to watch Minnie on TV! Sophia told us about last night’s soccer game they went to - we had 3 (holds up fingers) goals and they had two (again with the fingers), so WE WON! - her swimming lessons and her week at vacation care (they are off last week and this coming week, then back after Easter) In talking to her, she pulled out a book to read to us about jellyfish and things that eat them (spoiler alert - it’s turtles!) and I found out my Fact of the Week - there is a species of jellyfish called PINK MEANIES. Someone very imaginative came up with that.
I’ve been knitting and watching our women’s football team this afternoon. Our men’s team game has just started, so we’ll watch that as well.
Dinner tonight is homemade burgers with the regular toppings. DH is grilling them now.

I'm getting ready to put a pork shoulder in the slow cooker to make Tomatillo Pork for dinner. Big yum! leannec congrats on the new job ~ sounds like fun! scrapmaven , have fun with your new appliances!

scrapmaven . Thanks it’s all good here tonight. No idea about dinner my mom and I went out last night and had a great dinner. I had a fish fry and she had creamed cod over a baked potato. I need to finish up about three pages of my great nieces scrapbook. Considering she has a sibling on the way, I guess I better get it done as once she’s going tbe two in August lol. I only do the first year.

I just finished my March MIR pages.....so that is done! I should set up the April pages so they will be ready to journal and add pix. Dinner is potato leek soup. I just made it, so it can be heated up when we are ready to eat I am working tonight so a nap is in my future.
The Gratitude Journaling prompt for April 12 is "People in your life who inspire you" I have to say KelleeM in on that list, along with my BFF of almost 60 years!

DH and I went out for lunch at an out of the way restaurant. We went to YDS and girlfriends place on the way home but unfortunately they weren’t home. We got to see the grand dogs through the patio door as they went crazy wanting to get outside. They are both English Mastiffs and huge! In the way home, we took the back roads. Some of the roads looked more like tractor roads into fields but they were really roads. It was a fun afternoon.
The sun is shining and it’s 13 C. Still a bit chilly but the sun helps. I will get outside for my walk today and then take Walker out as well.
Supper is grilled steak, mashed potatoes and a veggie. I did broccoli in the air fryer a few nights ago but DH didn’t love it. He would rather have it steamed and mushy.

leannec Wow, that sounds like an interesting job. How long does the Stampede run for? I don't have the job yet ... they have more applicants than positions ... I will find out in the next few days if I am hired ... the Stampede is 10 days long and I would be working all 10 days ... leannec, I can't wear regular jeans. So, I found stetchy jeans that look like a normal pair of jeans, but they expand a lot. When I'm having a flare I look 9 months pg. That's not an exaggeration. I don't wear fitted anything. I live in Lululemon yoga pants ... jeans and I are not friends! This is going to be interesting ... I'll find something eventually leannec, I completely forgot to ask about your possible hernia and your foot. What did the doctor say? I don't see him until next Saturday ... don't ask.

Well, I was a little scared when I got to my massage and saw it was the person I had last time who was really rough and talked through the whole thing. I just told her please a little less pressure and quiet and it was one of the best massages I've had. I even splurged for the scalp enhancement and it was heaven. I'm a oily limp noodle now

We call jeans “ hard pants” and only wear them if we are going out. Otherwise we live in “soft pants”, which are track pants for DH and yoga pants for myself. When I was working, I looked forward to wearing jeans on the weekends because I couldn’t wear them at work. Not anymore, comfort is key and that doesn’t include jeans!

I'm thrilled to tell you that I have new appliances and that the fridge doesn't make a constant dinging noise. Oh, it's the little things that make me smile. taylortroop , I live in comfy cotton pants when I'm home. I lived in business suits for several years, then more casual gear, raising the kids. Now it's all about comfort.
Tearisci, I'm glad that you spoke up for yourself and it was a wonderful experience. I remember last time and you were NOT happy. I'm serious when I encourage you to add hot stones to that sucker, next time.

Not sure if we'll have anything for dinner as we did a late lunch after perusing some antique stores this afternoon.
DH actually slept in for a bit today, which is unlike him, but I'm not complaining. I went to bed around 11:45 after getting back last night from seeing a taping of the Inside Jeopardy! podcast with a friend.
The show was great -- Sarah Foss and Michael Davies gave an intro, had Drew Goins come out for an interview, he and Sam Buttrey played a game of whose stat is that, and then Ken hosted a short round of Jeopardy with the audience via cell phones. I was ranked #16 in the audience at one point, and had some stupid guesses that left me around #250 at the end.
The best part, though, was when it sounded like they had Lisa Ann have a message for Drew and played it as a voiceover...and then she came out on stage and he wigged out and it was adorable.
I would also be remiss if I didn't mention that yesterday was the ten year anniversary of us having Miss Bess. Can't believe it.

I made Steak Tips in mushroom gravy- with potatoes today because dh doesnt like egg noodles (but likes all other pasta)
I made a plate to take to ds tomorrow (the 10u baseball team he assistant coaches is in a tournament 90 minutes from home.
There will be enough potatoes for dh and I can make myself egg noodles.
We have spent a lot of time in At Home between yesterday and today (2 different locations). Ds found things to hang on his walls yesterday and we found things for our bedroom today- we have to go back to the location we were at today to get pictures for the spare room.

scrapmaven Work keeps me busy but I try to check in at least once a week. You're so kind. ❤️❤️❤️ I've taken the online test quite a few times. I would love to be on one day. I have memories of watching Eddie Timanus on the show when I was a kid (he was on in October 1999).
