DS I have enhanced licenses, so we're covered. Dh has a passport card so he is also covered. All 3 of us have passports, so double covered!

I have an appointment scheduled in May to get my "enhanced driver's license" which is the Washington equivalent. Hopefully it arrives before I need it to fly in June and my twenty-seven items (only partially being sarcastic) proving I'm me are good enough.
I just renewed my driver's license in October, but did not get it "enhanced" then because I needed an appointment, and was trying to renew it before it expired...

Ugh you read my mind. I’m desperate to get it done. I have procrastinated so bad and I’m extremely concerned that my dad is one medical crisis from death and I will need to make an emergency flight to his home state. That was on my to do list today, make an appointment with the DMV and gather my documents. And I’m worried that my divorce certificate will be enough to show That my name change from my birth certificate to my current name is legit

The enhanced is actually kind of a step up from a real ID drivers license and allows you to use it to enter at least Canada and I believe Mexico, Bermuda, and/or some places in the Caribbean. Does Washington also issue a drivers license that is also just a real ID and not an Enhanced? Just curious as you can get both in my state but it is more effort to get an enhanced because of the international aspect. I also think there are only a handful of states that offer enhanced. The enhanced has a flag instead of the star.

I need to renew my passport…I should get that done! You will love the new online system! DH and I took pictures of each other per the guidelines, filled out the paperwork online, uploaded the photos, paid the fees and had our new passports in less than 2 weeks! |

I wonder if it’s only Canadian border states now… ETA Oh man, only very few states offer them anymore. Michigan Minnesota New York Vermont Washington When I was growing up in WA, I’m pretty sure most border states offered them. But it’s been a long time since it’s been relevant to me so I haven’t kept up. |

I got my Real ID a few years ago. It wasn't a horrible process. The hardest part was finding out that my birth certificate was basically decorative only and I had to go through a process online to get a copy of my real birth certificate from my county at birth. It took a couple of weeks and I had to pay for it but overall not a huge deal. The DMV also really doesn't like it if you have a PO Box as your mailing address. I had a hard time finding documents that listed my physical address to provide since we don't get mail delivery here everything has my PO Box shown.

We all got ours a few years ago. I need to see about getting my passport renewed. It expired a few years ago, so maybe I need to get an entirely new one?

I've had a Real ID for quite a while now - I got it last time I renewed my DL, and that was pre-COVID. My passport was renewed around the same time, so I'm good for a few years. We always keep our passports up to date.

I got mine years ago.. and I went to the dmv with my daughter and thought I had brought the right paper work.. they wanted the envelope her ssi statement came in.. so we will get it done this summer. we all maintain current passports.

Have but need to get my just turned 16 yo his new passport. PITA
FLYING May 5 and curious if it’ll be an early shit show (FL). He has military dependent ID which should suffice. Hopefully.
