Yes, we saw a couple on a birding trip to Texas. They're beautiful.

No, but I hope I will someday! It looks like a bird that would live in the tropics.

Sightings this year in the area Looks like they've been sighted in Hermann Park. I want to go down there anyway to see the big elephant sculptures. Maybe tomorrow!

It’s on my bird bucket list! I recently checked off one on the list—bald eagle! Two of them hang out around our house and a dead tree by our lake is one of their favorite spots.

Those have always been easy to see for me growing up in Illinois along the Mississippi. But they used to be much more rare when I was a kid, obviously, from the DDT. They have made a huge comeback and in January especially you can see them in the trees by the hundreds. They like to fish near the lock and dam. If you ever want to see them in huge numbers, there's no other reason to go to Illinois in January but I can definitely recommend the photo ops you'll have 😁

I've seen a painted bunting once in my life, in the Outerbanks, near Cape Hatteras (NC). It was spectacular!

I wanted to share a photo and the bird stayed in a position that I have only half of the bird in the photo. We use a game camera for our bird photos.

First time I saw this beautiful bird at my feeder I thought it was someone’s pet bird that had accidentally escaped home. I was so concerned about the bird thinking I needed to save it to return it to its owner until 2 more painted buntings showed up at the feeder then i realized what it was! I live in the North Texas area

I have a few from camping on Jekyll Island but they're not the best photos so I didn't bother. The first one I ever saw, we were on another little Georgia island and I looked up in a tree and there it was! I was so excited!
