Good Morning.
Tearisci, how are you? How's your mom? I hope you'll plan one fun thing this week. No matter how small one little moment of fun might be good for your mental health, while you endure so much stress.
ntsf, welcome home. I hope that you have a good week as you settle in at home.
What is everyone doing today?
I have my voice lesson. Apart from that, I might pull out a puzzle. It's been months and I really do miss that sort of brain therapy.
Dh has rechauffe for dinner.
What's on your menu?
How is everyone doing?
May this week bring good news, contentment and reasons to smile and feel hopeful.

I will swim this morning and have Crazy Rummy this afternoon. In between those two things, I have to run to Raley's to get lunch and decide on dinner. The garden dinner at my friend's house was fun last night. There were two women originally from Mississippi and they went crazy over my pralines. We will definitely go on the garden tour again next year as it was so much fun.

I have my voice lesson. Apart from that, I might pull out a puzzle. It's been months and I really do miss that sort of brain therapy. A puzzle, eh? It feels like it's been forever since you've said you were working on a puzzle. I know some people just love them, but my scattered brain can't handle a puzzle. I admire those of you who have the patience for them. I'm working, but not really. Outside of 3 meetings, things are slow today. My 11:30 meeting has been rescheduled 3 times so I thought maybe it would be again. But it appears no such luck. I'm quilting a quick throw pillow for SDD's bed. I've almost got everything ready for her. She will be here for good on Friday. We are having rechauffe for dinner. Either burgers or tacos.

I took today off work so that I can renew my passport ... it expires sometime in May ... I need to go and get a photo done and then sit in line at the passport office ... fun times! I'll go a bit later! No other plans for the day ... who knows how many hours the above will take! Dinner is up in the air ... I sent all of the rechauffe Butter Chicken home with my teacher friend last night

Happy Monday!
We're hoping that all goes well and my mom gets released today. They moved her to a different room last night and her nurses were not at all concerned about her blood sugar and let it go past our meters. My sister went down there this morning because she was really upset with them. When I talked to the doctor on Saturday about it, she was concerned that her A1C had climbed up and I'm like, well that's because they aren't managing it well here. I hope my sister got to talk with the doctor and share her concerns.
I'm still feeling a bit under the weather as I didn't sleep well last night. I'll see what I feel like for dinner later. I've got some raviolis or beef fajitas so we'll see what I feel like later.
Hope you all have a great day!

Good evening all, Today was cleaner day, so my house is now sparkly clean and fresh smelling. I woke up to a message from DS2, who had obviously been speaking to his brother - ‘I hear you’ll be travelling MEL - MUC in August, we should coordinate flights’! So most of the time the cleaner was here, there were messages back and forward, talking dates and possible flights - we’ll fly emirates as usual. DS1 joined in as well and at one point we had three chats happening - whole family, me and DS2, and the ‘Dom in Europe’ group with DH, DS2 and me. Nothing is yet confirmed, but plans are taking shape. After lunch, I went out for a walk. After a miserable few days on Friday and Saturday, late, lovely spring has returned, so it was beautiful walking in the woods. More knitting is happening. I’m almost finished a project for me, then I’m starting a couple of things for Lucia and her dolls. I ordered the yarn today, so hopefully it doesn’t take long to arrive.
Dinner tonight is going to be a pizza from the freezer. My meal planning brain has decided to go on strike this week. I fear all these weeks if DH travelling will make me lazy with cooking proper meals.

cadoodlebug, that meme is very funny. Have fun today! jeremysgirl, it's nice that you're doing so much to make your sdd feel at home. She's very lucky to have you. leannec, in the USA we can go to the post office and renew a passport. It still takes a few weeks to receive the new one. How is it done in Canada? After your errand I hope you'll do something fun.

We can mail it in ... which I would never do ... or we have to get a photo done at a specific passport photo place (there are a number of choices) ... then we go to a passport office and wait in line to apply ... can be quick or not so quick.

Ours requires a specific photo as well, but you can get one done at the post office and a lot of people go to CVS, but idk if thst is to get the picture taken or just printed. We did all of it at the post office

sueg , you sound very excited about your trip home. Of course, the girls will be more excited to see you than anything. I'm quite sure that you'll be knitting and shopping and knitting and doing more shopping. Those little girls are so lucky to have such a wonderful Oma. My mother used to say that she had children in order to have grandchildren.
littlemama, we could get the photo anywhere, but we have to go to the post office or a passport office in a major city. BTW-it's been really nice to have you back on the thread more often.

scrapmaven - now that I have gotten past the initial shock of being requested and DH saying we’ll make it work, I am excited. Of course, it is still over two months until I go and there are many logistical things I need to deal with, but I am sure all will fall into place. The first step has - I need a police check going forward for my work at church with the 1st communion group. When I looked last week, there were very few appointments and all at weird times. Today, there are lots for next week, at all times, so I’ll be able to cross that off my ‘to do’ list. Next comes sorting out medical appointments - I need to organise an MRI for just before I see my neurosurgeon. As that’s just after I will be getting back, timing is tight. I’ll be near the radiology clinic on Wednesday, so I’ll actually go in to organise it, rather than dealing with it on the phone.

sueg, you'll get everything sorted out and will have a wonderful time w/your new grandbaby. May your next MRI show a completely normal result. ntsf, as you settle back in, relax a bit, too. Welcome home.

DH and I did a big grocery run at WalMart this morning. I stopped in to check on grandboy #1 who is home sick from school. He has a bit of a fever and a cough. He’s 13 and fine on his own but I plan to go over and get the other two off the bus and stay until DDIL gets home from work.
Going to check in on my mom this afternoon and then do some reading on the deck. It’s a beautiful day but we are bracing for a bad storm tomorrow. Supposed to have heavy rain, hail and chance of a tornado.
Supper will be take out pizza.

Good morning all! Apart from that, I might pull out a puzzle DH and ODS love puzzles. I don't have the patience to sit and do them. However, DH was given a Hobbit puzzle from ODS. I may pull that out and work on it at some point. To finish it. I saw your burger photo. I just might need that recipe. I took today off work so that I can renew my passport My renewal was easy enough. I am thinking that I will get my Real ID this week. I have all the docs for it, I should go ahead and grab it. I am taking my ODS birth certificate we still have to him this weekend so he can get his. dinner might be salmon out of the freezer I did my last piece of salmon out of the freezer Saturday. Spread some dijon mustard and then covered it with the Trader Joe's salmon rub. Air fryered that baby up. It was so good. Tearisci I hope your mom gets to go home today! I made the best lima bean salad for the potluck yesterday. After I tasted it, I hoped there would be leftovers so I could have it for dinner a night or two. It was large lima beans with a chimichurri sauce. Out of this world good. YAY!! There were leftovers. So I'll have that with a slice of sourdough bread and maybe some broccoli rabe on the side.

welcome home scrapmavengood luck with the passport leannec - my UK one was all online but for a variety of reasons (including USPS sending my paperwork to Puerto Rico for a month), it took nearly 7 months to get. Last time I did the US one - we had photos taken at Walgreens and then it was done at the courthouse - our post office doesn't do passports (rural) dinner tonight is a ground pork and bok choy stir fry.

Linda, thank you. Enjoy today. naby64, you strike me as someone who likes to be active. I can see where that would make a puzzle hard to do. Enjoy today.

Today is tough. It's been 3 months today. This past week more little things have happened. I almost called out to him to let him know dinner was ready. I have had thoughts of what if he is really not dead and I am being punked. Might he walk in the house soon? Those kinds of thoughts. So yes, your perception of me is almost correct. I just stay busy. I did allow myself both Saturday and Sunday afternoon to do absolutely nothing. I played on my Switch and got a lot of the new star path done for Alice in Wonderland. It's been almost too quick and easy. I need to print it out and start checking things off. It may be another like Aladdin where some of the tasks were just several days long. And more than normal paths.

For the all purpose seasoning, I subbed 1t chili powder and 1/2t Spanish Pimenton. I also added a good shake of cayenne and a T of lime juice. Recipe:

Hi friends! It feels like eons since I've checked in, but it's only been a few days.
Matilda in Concert was absolutely magical on Friday. My friends and I had such a good time. Danny Devito is just lovely.
DH and I decided to go downtown on Saturday to tag along with our friend and the friend she brought with her to spend more time with them. We hit up a few museums, got lunch from Union Station, and walked our tails off. My legs are feeling it today.
After having breakfast with them on Sunday, we went to 3 innings of a minor league baseball game. We got there plenty early (we went mostly because they were giving away a hockey jersey based on the team). Even with getting there in plenty of time, they ran out before we made it to the front of the line. DH was not happy at all. I understand that you only have enough for the first 1,000 people, but there needs to be a better system in place: we saw people cutting in line; scanning their ticket, taking the giveaway, and then leaving; etc. I also don't think that a 7-month old needs a hockey jersey giveaway. Maybe make it for ages 5 or 7 and up. Or maybe realize that it's a popular day for a game and that the giveaway is also very popular.
Dinner this week is chili and cornbread.

Might he walk in the house soon? Those kinds of thoughts. This is so very hard. Losing someone who lived in your immediate household is a different kind of grief because you get so used to that person just being there, every single day. Big hugs.

Truly no dang idea..
Dr appt at 4;00 and need to mow the yard after that, may deal with some weeds or assembling the raised garden table thing. Honestly it all sounds exhausting.. could mow now but, I'm good at procrastinating and theres really not time now to finish.
