Our 30th anniversary is next year and we are trying to decide on a trip.
-We like beaches and relaxation -We like maybe 1 or 2 excursions at most in a one week trip -We like all inclusive, but it doesnt have to be as long as there are restaurants at the resort or nearby- we dont want to do a bunch of driving. -We will only fly on a full size plane lol We would consider someplace in the US
We have considered Hawaii, but the quotes we've received from our travel agent are pretty high.
We could return to St Lucia
We could do something else. We will not go to Mexico or stay at any H10 branded resorts (norovirus sucked. 0/10 do not recommend)
Any other ideas?

I have been looking at the Westin Reserve Reserva Conchal all-inclusive in Costa Rica through Costco Travel.
We loved our previous trip to Costa Rica, but that was more adventurous than relaxing as we went from place to place every few days.

Our 30th is next year, too. We plan to visit all 30 MLB ballparks over the course of the year. That may not be what you had in mind. A friend just got back from Turks and Caicos and really loved it there, though. Maybe look into that. Happy anniversary to us!

Are you only looking for all inclusive resorts? Would you consider something like Portugal?

We have only just started travelling outside the US- St Lucia 2022 and Mexico last year (we will not go back to Mexico). It doesnt have to be all inclusive, but we would want there to be restaurants located close by so we dont have to rent a car.

We spent a few days at an all-inclusive in Punta Cana that was really nice. Where did you go in Mexico that made you rule out a return visit?

Ours is this year and we are renting a cabin in the mountains in NC. I'm sure not what you had in mind but I made up my mind late last year to spend any tourist dollars I had there in the region hit by Helene.
Plus, I needed to keep it lower cost this year, otherwise I'd be heading to Iceland! It's on my bucket list. So is Finland.
It sounds like you like resorts, if I was you and money was not an object for this trip, I'd go to a Tahitian resort and stay in one of those huts right on the water. One day I'm going to do that even though I'm not a resort kind of gal.

Im irrationally afraid of bears, otherwise might consider the Smokies. 😂😂 Tahiti might be a bit out of our price range but that does sound delightful!

Our 30th is this year, but so is DD's college graduation so we are celebrating her with a family trip to French Alps. That said, you seem to be gravitating to beach - does it need to be a warm beach?
I LOVED our trip to Oregon coast. It is stunningly beautiful and Cannon beach area would have lots of places to eat and it's such a cute town - you can walk to so many places. We also love the San Luis Obispo/Central coast area for small town/beachy vibes. My other thought is 30A (Grayton - if you want less people, but there are loads of other places to choose from - I love Rosemary and Seaside) just because it is so reliable on places to eat and stay, nice beaches, nice weather. It is crowded once you get into June - August, but it is also pretty nice in off season which we did last November. You would want to do it more in the Sept/Oct timeframe to ensure it is still warm, but it is just such a pretty beach area.

We went to Maui for our 30th and loved it! We are going to St. John in the USVI in November and really looking forward to hanging out on the beach and exploring the surrounding BVI.

My DH's cousin and her husband always went to a Rangers game for their anniversary- no matter where they were playing that year on the day but that stopped when they had kids. lol Our 40th is next year and I'm following here for ideas. We have a Danube cruise booked but that really isn't for our anniversary. Our anniversary is in August so not sure I want anything hot. We're usually looking to escape the heat then.

We took 10 days to meander down the Oregon coast in 2018 and it remains one of our very favorite vacations. I hope we get back again someday.

Yeah, I can go to a cooler beach close to home, so we def want a warm beach!

How about somewhere like Key West? Tybee Island? Or even St Thomas? St John?
If I were planning a trip to an island right now, I would want to go St. John or Exuma, Bahamas.

Plus, I needed to keep it lower cost this year, otherwise I'd be heading to Iceland! Better save your money because Iceland is very expensive. I was there about 10 years ago and a very simple breakfast was close to $25.00. Check with Icelandic Air as they sometimes have semi-inclusive deals that include air + hotel + some excursions for a great price.

Our travel agent said we prob wouldnt like the US Virgin Islands because they dont have good all-inclusives. We were talking about the Keys last night so that is a possibility. I'll have to loom into Tybee island. I ordered a few guides for Costa Rica to go along with the Hawaii books, so Ill have to look those over when they get here

I don't eat much nowadays, I'll probably pack a box of granola bars and a bag of almonds and that will cover everything but dinner. Lol Great idea about the deals, thank you!

I did the Danube Waltz river cruise last fall. It was amazing. August, come to Alberta, go to Banff and Jasper National Parks. The hottest we ever get is 30C/86F and that's nothing for you, it would more likely be around the 20s/70s and it's not humid. Come towards the end of August and the nights will be cool, maybe even cold for you.

We have been several times and although we haven’t been in many years, we talk about going back so it’s definitely on list. It’s so incredibly beautiful.

Either way I don't like to spend a lot of money on food, or hotels either for that matter. I'm prepared to but I'm just as happy with cheaper stuff because all I really want to do is a little shopping and a lot of outdoor activities.

Congratulations! We just celebrated our 45th and did a quick weekend getaway to Luna Pier, MI. We stayed at an amazing VRBO and visited a few National Park sites and walked the beaches looking for beach glass. Wonderful dinner at a local place. It was cold and rainy for half the trip but staying right on Lake Erie was amazing waking up to the sunrise both mornings.
DH doesn't fly so it is road trips for us.
Tybee Island is great and a day trip to Savannah is a good choice!
Enjoy

Siesta Key FL You'll need transportation to/from the airport (you can fly into Sarasota, Tampa or Orlando) but once there you can take a free trolley to get around. The island is very walkable or you could rent bikes. The beaches are glorious and the sunsets are spectacular and the vibe is relaxed and low-key. Also highly recommend Iceland to anyone who has it on their bucket list. We've been four times and absolutely love it.

I’ve just started thinking about this area (never been) for a birthday trip in September.
