Good Morning.
I had a very productive puzzle day, yesterday. It felt so good to get back into it.
I need to finish the big paperwork sort. Thought I was all done and found another file cabinet. UGH! Does anyone need an invoice from 1945? I will be at my puzzle a lot today. I'm going to knit, too. But...paper sorting! Mil was a bookkeeper and was meticulous. She kept every note or post-it note she ever wrote or received. Passing at 94, that meant decades of paper. An xray in 1950 at the hospital was $3.50 Can you even imagine?
Dinner is Chinese takeout for dh.
What are you up to today?
What's for dinner?
Tearisci, how are your folks today? Did you get sleep last night?
naby64, how are you doing today?
I wish everyone well! Be happy and smile today.

Too soon to tell scrapmaven. I get to go to the DMV to get renewal stickers for my license plate and I thought while I am there, I might as well get my Real ID. I'll post a photo in a bit of all my paperwork. I have everything I need as far as identifiers but they also want a proof of residency. Well, I have 3 utility bills. Once in DH's and my name. With my first name misspelled. One in my name only but only using the name I go by. The third is in my name as on passport and SS card but is the welcome letter and I haven't gotten the first bill yet. So for good measure, I threw in my Charles Schwab info I just received. We will see if what I have is good enough for the person taking care of me. Some, you slip on through and some deny what you are presenting. It's choir night and I have no leftovers so I don't know what I will do for dinner. It may just be toast. You know, just as soon as you throw away that invoice, you will need it!

Good evening all, This morning was that unpleasant but totally necessary, every six months appointment - off to the dentist for deep cleaning. Ugh! I’m glad it’s done though and now I don’t have to worry about it until October. I stopped in at the supermarket on the way home for food. I needed a few things first dinner tonight and tomorrow. It’s a public holiday here tomorrow - May 1st - so no shops open. DH won’t have work either, so if the weather is good, as it has been for the past few days, we are going to pack a picnic and head down to one of the lakes south of here for the day. I’ve had a bit more knitting time this afternoon. I am now at the boring bit of my vest - the bottom ribbing. Then I’ll have to do the ribbing at the armholes and neck. I’m looking forward to it being done and for my new yarn to be here to knit smaller things.
For dinner this evening, I am making Pad Thai. I picked up a kit at the supermarket with noodles, sauce and crushed peanuts and I’ll add some vegetables, fried egg and prawns.

naby64, Going to the DMV is not good for lifting your spirits. You are not allowed to smile. Nor are you allowed to be happy at the DMV. Just sit down and wait for someone who is completely apathetic to call your number and don't you dare show happiness when you approach their window!!!! Can you do something to reward yourself after the DMV? Do you do mani/pedis? sueg, I stand w/you about dental cleanings. My gums have always been an issue. My dental hygeniests use a numbing rinse before my cleanings and it makes things painless. Do you do something similar? BTW-my dentists are mirror image identical twins. I sort of get a kick out of that. Thank goodness that bit is done and you can move fwd with happier and more fun things.

I had to go and get the stickers for DH's car as his tags expired in February. It was the complete opposite of what people think. I got there and didn't have the renewal form. I had the death certificate. I explained the situation and the woman was just the sweetest and offered her condolences. She said I didn't need the form and was able to pull me up with the VIN. I was in and out of there in about 10 minutes. Now today, being the end of the month, I don't expect swiftness. I don't really have time for a treat today or this week. I am going to see the kids this weekend and we are going to a movie, so I will count that as my treat.

Hey all - dragging this morning and my daughter talked me into staying up too late to watch basketball! I think I'm making some kind of shrimp jerk dish I got from Blue Apron - we'll see when I get home, should be quick at least! Take care all!

I'm glad they were kind when you renewed your dh's car. we are going to pack a picnic and head down to one of the lakes south of here for the day. that'll be nice - I hope the weather cooperates. Academic signing for dd18 this morning - and her name was left out. We got it dealt with and they called her individually at the end (the kids go up by school and there was a big group headed to UF like her) and I ended up with much better photos but she was embarrassed. The principal apologized to her and us and she received an apology email quite soon afterwards from the staff member who was in charge. dinner tonight is kielbasa and potatoes and green beans

I am going to see the kids this weekend and we are going to a movie, so I will count that as my treat. I hope you have a good time this weekend! Well I've been sort of in a pickle. On Friday, my hip and lower back/rear started feeling sore, like they were rug burned. My clothes brushing against it felt uncomfortable. I went through the weekend and it was totally bothering me and my leg just kept getting more sore, but you know me, right, no big deal. On Monday my leg/hip were really hurting, but my friend, Jenn, suggested a little hike on our lunch break. So I went despite my leg/hip bothering me. By Monday night, I was limping. I went to sleep and I woke up yesterday and my leg was on fire and I could feel it tingling even in my toes. I worked all morning with Jeremy texting (yelling) at me to go to the hospital because he was afraid I had a blood clot. After a while I went just to appease him. I do not have a blood clot, they are thinking it is sciatica. So I got some meds and some stretching exercises to do. Then follow up with my doctor if it doesn't go away. I am sorry to all of you, my friends, who have sciatica. Because it is not fun. It hurts the worst to sit. Standing and laying down are infinitely better. But it's not as bad today as it was yesterday. I got to thinking and I moved Esther's desk chair into my office and I've been using it instead of my desk chair with the supportive cushions. So I'm wondering if this is what caused it. I moved my own desk chair back in front of my computer today. I am hanging in there for one more meeting and then I think I'm going to move away from my desk. Jeremy will be having chicken fried rice tonight and I will have fried rice with yellow lentil lettuce wraps.

Happy Wednesday! The good news is that mom is coming home from the hospital today so hopefully that will go smoothly. Of course, we're getting nasty stormy weather all day so hopefully her transport will go well. I'll go to the nursing home later and make sure she is all taken care of. jeremysgirl I had horrible sciatica with a ruptured disc and the only thing that worked for me was to lay flat on my back. it's no fun for sure! naby64 Hoping everything goes smoothly for you with the DMV. I was just able to renew my license for 8 years so I'm pretty happy about that! Dinner tonight was going to be these beef fajitas that i took out of the freezer but I think I'm going to have a frozen lasagna from TJs instead. I'll cook up the fajitas and have some for lunch and freeze the rest. Hope you all have a great day!

Im going full on lazy tonight. Frozen meatballs in gravy made from a packet served over egg noodles. Im going to steam some fresh broccoli, so I guess that saves it. 😂
Our 29th anniversary is Saturday and we are now thinking about what to do for our 30th next year. I started a separate thread looking for suggestion, but it got buried pretty quickly! So, ideas anyone? We like beaches, warm weather and dont want to have to drive a whole lot wherever we go. I will only fly on a full sized plane. 😁

Well, this just sucks! DH’s flight has a problem, a technician has been called, and there is a decent chance he won’t get home tonight. Half an hour ago, they said next information at 23:15 - which would be too late to then land in Munich. I’ve just had a notification through the Swedish airport app, that new info will be available at 19:30, which is in 10 minutes. Neither of us is hopeful. This will also mess up our plans for tomorrow.
UPDATE: Flight cancelled. He is rebooked on a flight at 6am so should get home around 9 - 9:15. We’ll see what happens then. Honestly - after a friend lost her DH is a plane accident earlier this year, I’m relieved they didn’t try to fly a plane with technical problems. I’d rather DH gets back tomorrow than not at all

Today is sunny but cold outside. I had coffee with a friend this morning. The jetlag isn't too bad and I do feel almost human. Finally I went grocery shopping so I will make something for dinner, probably the chicken pot pie that I picked up. Laundry is almost done & put away. Life is almost back to normal. You know, just as soon as you throw away that invoice, you will need it! That is the Murphy's Law #674 isn't it. Hope that you find what you are looking for. we are going to pack a picnic and head down to one of the lakes south of here for the day. This sounds lovely. The countryside is so beautiful where you live. I wish that I could have stayed longer and seen more of southern Germany. Perhaps the next time that I come to visit. I ended up with much better photos but she was embarrassed. I'm sure that she was embarrassed but at least she was recognised as part of this group. What will be her area of study? they are thinking it is sciatica. Sciatica pain is horrible. I have had it in the past and simply couldn't find a comfy way to sit or stand. I hope that the meds kick in for you. Have they suggested physiotherapy? How is your mystery quilt coming together? Are you happy with the colour combination now that things are being put together? Wishing everyone a good day and a delicious meal tonight.

(((Hugs))) and prayers. Sciatia sucks. I did have success with muscle relaxants and chiro visits.

Today is DH’s prep day for his colonoscopy tomorrow. I’m trying to be respectful of the fact that he can’t eat anything but he really needs to go outside so I can have a snack!
It’s sunny but cold here today. I will bundle up and get out for a walk in a bit. I’m also walking with my bestie tonight so lots of steps in today.
Supper will be pulled pork on perogies for me and DH will have a bottle of prep mixture with a Gatorade chaser.

I have honestly never had any complaints about pain/muscles/joint/nerves. She said this very well could be a one-off. How is your mystery quilt coming together? Are you happy with the colour combination now that things are being put together? I need to do Clue #4. It got released on Saturday. But honestly, I don't know yet how it all goes together and I'm still not super thrilled with it. We shall see how it turns out. I'm remaining cautiously optimistic. It's good to have you back.

Going to the DMV is not good for lifting your spirits. You are not allowed to smile. Nor are you allowed to be happy at the DMV. The trick is to take a really good book ~ every time I do this, I get called quickly! Although the only time recently I had to go was for an eye test for my license renewal. naby64 , like you I took a lot of paperwork and they only used one for my Read ID. jeremysgirl , sciatica pain is the worse. My chiropractor always works on mine and gives me stretches to do. I also use my small roller ball to dig into the pain in the hip/lower back. I hope you feel better soon. I swam this morning and got a cardio load of 46. Friday we start the 2 a-day AquaFit classes. Dinner depends on if we go to a movie this afternoon (The Accountant 2).

All proper paperwork in hand. They had 2 lines going. One exclusively for auto registration and then all others were for any other purposes. They were fully staffed today and every single one of those ladies were cheerful with smiles. I was in and out in 1 hour exactly. jeremysgirl oh, I am so sorry. I have had that and it was horrible.

well I put away a bunch of stuff this morning. still one duffle with misc stuff to put away.. I'm spacing it out. made a ton of appts for my sister yesterday, I'll make appts for me tomorrow.. all the stuff I put off all winter.
I have to go down to fed ex and xerox something.. big document so don't want to use home printer. then get dinner.. probably lemon chicken. with leftovers and a salad.
another grey foggy day so I feel at home.. I have to go get my kid a real ID this summer.. we tried like a year ago, and they didn't like the documents I brought. it is hard when they live at home and there are no utility bills. I will try bank statements and social security statements (last time they wanted the envelope,, no idea why.).
sorry for anyone in pain. my bruised leg hurt a bit at aquafit.. but there isn't anything to do about it.
I am teaching this basic camping class this sunday.. I am excited cause a friend is going to help me out. the site is only 5 min away but I have to get all my gear out on saturday and revive my foil covered box oven. it is a bit tattered.

That is sort of how I feel. They were on #67 when I walked in. I pulled 04. I think a lot of folks got tired of waiting or had to leave as they zipped through a few string of numbers a couple of times. I did look up and tell DH I was not killing life but I was lifing. Checking off all the things I had put off and things that just need doing. ETA: I just saw the post of your mom going home. She looks so happy. Yay!!

Happy Tuesday! I've been trying to make it to the thread all week. Leave home for 4 days/3 nights and it takes a bit to put the house back together afterwards! The quilt retreat was fantastic and just what I needed. Managed to finish a couple of projects and get started on another one. I even made a new friend! This is the first time one has come right up to the fence to check me out. I offered no treats so she moved on. . Things are plodding along with DH. He's being difficult and refusing to get out of bed into his chair most days. He's really pushing my patience right now. I've spent part of the afternoon in the garage. DH decided to sell his car and Carvana picked it up at lunchtime today. Now I've got more room in the garage. Good timing as DD moved to a new apartment and has dropped off a few piles of stuff. Some went to the donation pile, some in the trash and a couple of things I kept. With that area cleaned up I have room to repaint the bistro table/chairs that we got in Paris. She had them on her balcony and they need freshening up. She plans to use them inside at her new apartment to have a spot to eat. Waiting on good painting weather now. Dinner is still being decided, but we have several options. DH has lost too much weight so I've been spending extra time and effort on getting good meals into him. As of today he's added 2 lbs back.
